Gremryl fails to get the attention of Hemeth in any meaningful way and the guards take notice of his efforts to do so. Poking him with their spears to remind Gremryl that he’s under close guard.
The stone giant takes action next and while engaged with Hemeth, managed to break free momentarily to attack one of the guards.
The giant picks up a large stump of wood from a nearby cart full of unidentifiable fungi and jerkies. He swings it down hard onto the armored skull of one of the Duergar Guards. A loud *CRACK* is heard and the Guard is flung head over heels across the marketplace. You’re unsure if he still breathes.
A pack of Duergar Guards move forward and attack with their spears. Some landing their attacks and others being swatted away by the rampaging giant. Damage is dealt, you’re sure of that, but how much is anybody’s guess.
The Stone Giant appears to hear a deafening sound in his ears as both hands go up to block the sounds of bells ringing loudly inside his mind. With a furious roar, he shakes off the attack but still seems fazed by the pain he was dealt.
Hemeth attempts to grapple the Stone Giant again and prevent any further damage to the marketplace or death to onlooking bystanders. Hemeth manages to get a hold on the Stone Giant and puts him into an arm-bar. Gremryl recalls his days as the arm-bar Dwarf-king of Adbar and smiles fondly at the near-perfect technique used.
Hemeth - "Gremryl! How's about ya get off yer lazy arse and lend a hand, will ya?!" He calls out and motions to the Duergar Guards, indicating that he will also assume responsibility for Gremryl's actions once unbound and ungagged.
While in the arm-bar, a couple of Duerger Guards begin to assail the Stone Giant and weaken his stone body with attacks that cause some damage, but nothing that appears to slow the giant down noticeably.
If Gremryl decides he will help subdue the Stone Giant, roll for initiative. If he declines to help, no action is necessary.
Gremryl despite being still beat up, grins a grin borne of dwarven pride and obvious relief that Hemmeth addressed him and further didn’t have him skewered by the guards, and by Moradin that Armbar! straight back to his days in the Dwarven Adbarr wrestling Legion it takes him!
“By moradins muscles ye look like ye need some help eh! I’d be happy to help ye knock this giant down a peg! Buahahhahaaa”
He’ll charge forward to help Hemeth. Initiate roll 22
With The giant subdued with (presumably) a double arm bar Emo sneaks over to the head of the giant uses his sneak attack focusing on the giants eyes and throat (anything in that area that Elmo can get a shot at. He pulls his short sword and dagger.
Gremryl sees elmo just appear as out of thin air, elated but still running towards the giant
"Master Elmo, ye look the part of a dashing rogue eh!! bless moradins heart its nice to see you!! Bella! Me Bella! bless ye halfling heart! I'll be there in a second... this Giant needs a wholloping!! "
Elmo sneaks around the commotion and get some into position for a particularly damaging sneak attack, targeting the Stone Giant’s right eye socket. Driving his dagger into the stone giant’s face, and narrowly missing the eye socket due to a very erratic jitter at the last moment, he draws blood deeply. His second attack, this time using his short sword, and going foe his neck, manages to slice a deep wound across the stone giants neck. Small chunks of rock crack off and it doesn’t look like that’s going to heal without a scar.
Hemeth -“ Oh for ****s sake, Elmo! I said subdue this creature. Not maim him!” Struggling with the stone giant, you now realize that the sudden jitter may have been Hemeth saving the creatures eye...but for what purpose?!
Leon follows up with another painful ringing in the mind of the stone giant who’s unable to block out the sounds with his hands. Gremryl is healed for another 8 points of health thanks to the merciful cleric.
Gremryl charges forward, ignoring the gift that Elmo attempted to bestow upon him but now seeing that Elmo carries a spiked shield on his back..could this be what Elmo has crafted out of Gremryl’s once mighty mace? Approaching the Stone Giant, who’s being pinned to the game round by Hemeth, he aims for the Stone Giant’s nut sack! With a heavy swing, Gremryl matches his fist to the rocky groin and with an instant regret, yells out loud and dealing zero damage to the giant. Not one to be dismayed at seeing failure, he strikes again, this time with his other hand. Once again, the giant’s sturdy nut sack stands firm against the onslaught from the Dwarf. Those close to the giant can hear a muffled laughter from the giant as if mocking Gremryl for the failed attempt at striking below the belt.
Hemeth - “That how they wrestle in Adbar? I thought Dwarves had been actually taught proper fighting techniques.” A gruff grunt follows the comment “You’ve got the right idea though, Dwarf. We’ve gotta contain this beast before it’s too late!”
You can see that Hemeth is struggling to maintain his grapple on the giant. Trying hard to break free, he’s unsuccessful this then and instead manages to flail his legs out, knocking one of Hemeth’s teeth out onto the ground, dealing 4 points of damage to him.
Hemeth then responds in kind with a stronger pull of the arm and a sharp crack that could be heard from across the marketplace echoes outwards from the giants right arm. The giant howls in pain!
Elmo, Leon, Gremryl - post your next actions/intentions please!
Leon rushes over to Hemmeth at double movement speed and jumps on a free limb of the Stone Giant. (Leon would like to use the help action to give hemmy advantage on his next grapple or other action since he is large).
Gremryl grunts and say's "Trying to knock this big oaf out and down! Elmo! You keep surprising this old Dwarf! If that is a shield with bella's spikes well.. toss that on over and i'll be happy to put it to use!"
I'll use my action to equip my new glorious shield (i'll leave it to the DM to describe the awesomeness of it! with its spikes on the face of it)
Then I 'll use my bonus action to cast Hunter's Mark on the giant and try to position myself towards the giants side.
I want to do a perception check for some sort of large piece of cloth or leather. For example something that would serve as an light cover or privacy at a merchants booth.

My goal next turn is to cram a large piece of cloth or leather into the giants mouth with my action, and holding his nose closed until his bonus action.
Leon manages to wrestle free the unrestrained arm of the Stone Giant and gives advantage to Hemeth during his next turn to maintain his grapple hold on the creature. The Stone Giant let's out a roar in defiance as he's being pinned down by the party.
Gremryl easily finds the spiked shield on Elmo and equips it. The metal shield is heavy and intimidating to look at. With many spikes around the edges of the circular shield, a depiction of an eye is centered on the front of the shield. Gremryl can tell that these spikes are indeed from Bella...and is very pleased with the beautiful craftsmanship poured into this creation. While Gremryl doesn't quite understand all of the benefits that this shield may provide, one thing is clear, it's a fantastic upgrade and a wonderful gift from Elmo. How much did this cost, he wonders...
Elmo sees a number of merchant carts with awnings of cloth and makes a break from his engagement with the Stone Giant to retrieve it. The Stone Giant attempts to attack Elmo but with such a disadvantage, is unsuccessful. Elmo is able to secure a piece of cloth to use in his next turn.
The Duerger Guards take this opportunity to dogpile on the Stone Giant and deal damage to the Giant in an effort to restrain him. It appears that the overwhelming force is taking its toll on the Giant however his rage continues.
Just then, another Stone Giant comes through the shattered gate, but this one looks perfectly sane. At the same time, a squad of three Duergar Stone Guards make their way to the brawl. The newly arrived Stone Giant raises a talisman and speaks a foreign incantation. You carefully notice that the Duergar Guards make no action against him doing so. Within moments, the restrained Stone Giant falls into a snoring slumber. Both Hemeth and Leon notice the Stone Giant's once tense muscles completely relax.
The guards who fought alongside the characters explain the situation, neither downplaying nor exalting your actions.
