Emerging from the shell of the broken house is a single woman, obviously elven in form, and she holds a longsword and stands guarded, as she begins to see all of you, she cracks a smile. "I sense my own amongst you, and I know the Fury of the Kings boil in others." The elven woman stands tall, almost defiantly. "So why are you here, amongst these shells of life."
Valen draws his mace upon entering the ruined city, studying the gate and buildings for cause of destruction [12+1 (INT) or 3 (WIS) depending on the ability required].
Upon seeing the elf woman, he raises his shield in front of his chest, "Who are you and what happened here? We are here to cleanse whatever evil destroyed this town."

Valen [Int. Check]: The only determinable thing is that the walls were smashed? There's large parts of the walls that look like the burst from below, and exorbitant amounts of ice coats the walls.
The woman smiles, "Do you believe me to be evil cleric?" She asks, cocking her head to the side a little bit.
"Rumors tell of dragons and cultists, then I see the town looks to be razed from it's foundation and frozen mid-cataclysm. Now we find a lone soul sneaking about the ruins. You must pardon me if I'm a bit defensive. If I had thought you evil already, we wouldn't be talking."

Rammen extends his open hands to show he's 'unarmed' and approaches her. [preferably within 100' at most]
"Whoa, whoa, whoa......we've come from Sorav at the behest of the barkeep there to find news of what happened to his cousins who resided here. We have no quarrel with you m'lady. But I am curious as to what you're doing here, as we had heard there were no survivors left in Orax."
Rammen turns to Valen "Calm yourself friend, let us hear her out."
[perception (?) check on the elven woman to see if she's really a threat or just being cautious 10+4 = 14]
Rhogash calmly moves next to Valen and stands ready, though without drawing sword or shield. He opens himself up to more clearly register whether or not there is a strong sense of evil or good in the area [Divine Sense].
Vicril walks towards the woman. "We were simply not expecting to find someone. We don't mean any threat to anyone, right?", he looks at both the elf and Valen. "Did you come here because of the raid as well?"
Rhogash, as you take a deap breath, you sense that the woman, was in contact with something evil... it's not on her now.
Rammen, you notice an insignia upon the cloak she's wearing, a stylized sun with points similar to a compass's. And asks she asks Vicril her question, you notice her arm band faintly glow for a second.
"I am here because I live here." The woman then tilts her head, and then ask Vicril, "What is your vocation, if I may ask?"
Vicril, I'd like you to make a Wisdom Saving Throw.
[Do I know the nature of the evil? (Religion(?) roll: 14+2=16) Also, was she in contact physically (e.g., attacked or touching) or contact as in communicating with?]
You (Rhogash) sense she interacted physically with the object, and was not in fact harmed by it, its aura hangs around her. The nature of the evil... It's fiendish in nature, but there's something more. You divine sense only can detect the fiendish part of whatever evil she interacted with.
Reluctnantly, Valen slings his mace back at his hip for the time. With both hands tucked defensively behind his shield, Valen loops a finger under an axehead at his hip and slides it up, behind the shield. A powerful, violent prayer rests at the forefront of the Cleric's mind, ready for any hostile provocation.
[Sleight of hand: 12+1=13 to draw an axe unseen behind the shield. Ready Guiding Bolt for the first moment after being attacked targeting the attacker]

Salleek remains high overhead, ready to get the drop on the elf if she starts attacking the party. His bow is drawn with an arrow ready to fire at her. He mutters to himself, though even if he were loudly talking, none on the ground would be able to hear him.
"An interesting development..."

"Put your weapons down you all. Inmediatly." Frandal's voice sounds more seriuos that it has ever been by the time they all know him. He walks in front of all of them, even if that brings him to her reach, and talk to the elven woman. " I am Frandal Silvereyes, from the Silvereyes Clan. Please forgive my companions. We were expecting trouble. I am very sorry to see your home like this. Would you be so kind to let us take cover for the weather so you can tell us what happened here? We have some provisions that we can share with you."
Valen reluctantly lowers his shield, but keeps the axe gripped in the hand holding his shield's handle. He also makes sure to keep his shield slightly cocked at his hip to avoid the awkward discovery of the new weapon he was holding. With the immediate threat removed for a moment, Valen takds a moment to carefully study his surroundings.

She leads you, if you choose to follow, to the Manor of the Village, and it is rather nice inside, if a bit weathered.
