The hill is steep, but not cliff-like. (Tiring to climb, and will need caution to descend, but do not need Athletics rolls.) Froskan finds a spot over the cave exit that is free of trees and goes there.
The forest is still blocking a lot of the land, but Froskan can see more. To the west and south east are more forest. (The hill you are standing on is blocking the south. Reaching the summit would take more traveling.) To the northwest, the bay widens until it becomes the ocean (maybe 10 miles away). There are a few dots visible in that direction, (probably fishing boats) but too far to be clearly seen or heard. To the north, roughly two miles away, the low (and less wooded) hills of the other side of the bay can be seen.
The churning waters of the bay are visible as well as audible. You are reminded that the half-orc priest of Eldath called this the Discord Bay. Folk lore says that ocean waters ruled by Umberlee and the river waters ruled by Eldath the Green Goddess mix in the bay, and the choppy waves and gusty winds reflect their opposing philosophies.
Froskan spends more time looking east, the direction they have to go to return to Greensville. The shore of the Bay has narrow rocky beaches. There are no roads or paths in sight, but you should be able to march east along the forest's edge, keeping the bay visible. Just before Froskan returns to the group (still at the cave's exit), he notices a ship beached (or wrecked), maybe half a mile to the east. (No other details can be seen from this distance.)

Jack looks at the top of the hill too, and seeing the ship from there, slides down gracefully, and runs towards it. “Hey buds! I think I found a ship here! Come on! There might be someone inside!”
"Don't move all by yourself, Jack!" Reverie warns as she also slides down cautiously. However, seeing a ship is somehow giving her worry about the survivor. If there is a survivor, then it should be good. Once she arrives at the ship, she investigates the damage to find out what happened to this ship.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
Your group is able to gradually work your way down in elevation to the water line while traveling the half-mile east. When you are near the place where Froskan noticed the ship, you stay just inside the tree line (for cover). There is a narrow beach of pebbles and rocks, 30' to the waterline. Waves lash at the beach, high enough that you will get jostled if you wade into the bay, but not enough to be life-threatening.
You can see the ship 80' out from the beach. it is 50' long, and looks like a smaller trading/passenger ship. It is on its side, stuck on a rocky island only slightly larger than the ship. You can see multiple tears and holes in the side facing up, below what would have been the water line of the ship.
Halfway between the water's edge and the ship, you can see a humanoid figure lying face down on a sand bar that is currently above water. The figure is dressed in rags with dried blood stains. He doesn't appear to move, except you see slight arm and leg movements when a wave splashed into him.
Between the beach and the ship, you would be able to stay in shallower waters, about 2-4 feet in depth. (Treat as rough terrain for movement.) There are deeper areas (6' or more) where you would have to swim, but those can be avoided. While looking at the deeper waters, your group notices the fin of a reef shark circling around the sand bar with the person on it.
(Your group is still behind some trees. The waves and wind are active enough that you can talk with each other without the sounds carrying.)
(Edit: If it helps, here is a map, inside the "spoiler". Sorry about my crude drawing skills.)
RS is the reef shark. ?? for the humanoid face down. Dark grey is the pebble beach, sand bar, or rocky island. Green for the forest edge. Light blue for shallow water (can wade). Dark blue for deeper water (need to swim). Lavender for the ship.

Jack crosses the 30' of pebble beach to the water's edge. (Jack has not entered the water yet.) While Jack is shouting to the team, the figure on the island moves more. Lifting the head to try to look around, slowly pushing up to hands and knees.
Trim jogs after Jack, 10' behind. Although the water is relatively shallow, it is deep enough for the Reef Shark to swim up to anyone stepping in the water. Trim has his arrow ready, debating if he wants to shoot now or wait to see if the shark moves towards Jack. EDIT: Reverie is next to Trim, with weapons in both hands.

Combat begins! Round 1
Jack uses his full movement to wade 15' closer to the figure. As Jack gets closer, he sees that the anchor from the ship is buried halfway into the sand dune, and that the figure is shackled and chained to it. Jack notices that the man makes emphatic gestures, then reaches down to grab a pole arm weapon that Jack hadn't seen before. The man looks alarmed when he sees Jack in the water. He opens his mouth, but nothing can be heard over the crashing waves. He waves, and points west, and down to the water (but not at the shark). Reverie looks in that direction, and sees two large shadows underwater. Froskan and Trim are focused on the shark, and she cannot warn them before they attack.
Froskan casts his spell, and tries to remember the last time he ate chilled shark fin sushi. (Shark CON save: 16 ) Shark takes a direct blast, for 6 cold damage.
Surfacing from the deeper waters, two massive sea beings swim to the shallower waters (which is also Difficult terrain for them). They have a slight resemblance to mer-men, but are more like mer-ogres or mer-demons. They are covered in sharp fins, have eel like tails, and shark-like teeth. Each of them raises harpoons attached to long chains, and throw them at Froskan and Trim. (Normal attack rolls - advantage for being hidden from F & T, disadvantage for long range)
(OOC: DM stands for Disappointed with the Monsters) Reverie's shout alerts Froskan and Trimyrai, who both narrowly avoid the massive harpoons. The creatures pull on the chains to get the harpoons back.
Initiative order for the round: Jack, Froskan, M1, M2, Trimyrai, Reverie, Reef Shark
Trimyrai and Reverie are up, then the Reef Shark. (Jack, Froskan, M1, and M2 have gone this round.)

(M2 was the one that targeted Trimyrai, and takes 7 damage). The creature grabs the harpoon, getting it ready to attack next round, and snarls as Trimyrai's arrow goes through its upper arm.

Reverie churns up a cloud of water as she charges through the waist-deep water. She moves to the SE of M1, and cuts through the tough scales of the creature (9 damage total).
The reef shark (6' long) swims to the NW of Jack, and its frost-covered jaws bite. Attack (with Frostbite disadvantage): 5 Damage: 8 It bites around Jack's waist, but the breastplate stops the teeth. Jack is unharmed, and slaps the snout off of him.
Round 2 begins
Damage totals: M1- 9 damage, M2- 7, shark- 6. Party unharmed (although Jack is still 2 less than maximum).
The humanoid on the island is banging its shackles on the glaive underneath it, trying to break them. His movements are slow and awkward, and he is still chained this round.
Jack and Froskan are up, then the two big creatures. (The campaign DM notes are updated. I will update the map after the creatures act.)
(EDIT: That was a natural 1 for the shark attack... If Jack decides to stab at it, he will get advantage on this round's melee attack, as the shark was exposed while biting at Jack's waist.)
