Reverie looks back at Jack after what she heard from Vordat, and then nods. "I understand." Then she frowns slightly when Jack mentions that he doesn't trust the Merfolk. "Of course, we should." However, she takes it to her mental note and decides to ask him when the rescue is finished.

"The idea is that we keep them occupied until your group and the prisoners make it out. Then everyone withdraws. The goal is to rescue the people inside as quickly as possible, not to win a battle."

(From the beach to this current resting spot, the dolphins were porpoising for maximum speed, while still giving you guys a chance to breathe more often than every 20 minutes. While approaching the big island, they will swim smoothly and keep the passengers low in the water without submerging them. You won't have to worry about being stealthy approaching the island; the sneakiness is after you step inside the caves.
If your group insists on swimming instead of riding dolphins, your speed will be a quarter and less stealthy. A 5 minute ride taking advantage of the merfolk's scouting of the nearby islands and waters will become a 20+ minute swim without cover.)

Vordat and the others are prepared to sneak towards the big island. Will you get on the dolphins, or refuse? (If your group says you want to swim there, he will make the same arguments I mentioned in post 1334.) (Edit: Whoops, just saw Guiltysparc's post.)
Your group is cautious towards these strangers that have allied with you, but you get on the dolphins. Your ride is smooth, despite the waviness of the bay waters. The group is careful to use islands and reefs for cover as you get closer to the island. The trip takes 5 minutes.
The big island is a few hundred yards in diameter, 4 stories high, from coarse dark volcanic rock. You've been told that it is mostly hollow. There is a large opening (40' wide) in the SW corner. The entire island is shrouded in an unnatural fog, and that mist is thicker by the SW opening. The mast of a ship (too big to enter the island) can barely be noticed.
Your group is headed to the east side of the island. There is another entrance (20' wide) on the south side, guarded by several sahuagin. They are feasting on something, and are not paying attention to the waters. Your group stays behind cover, and gives them a wide berth.
The dolphins swim up to a barely seen opening (6' wide) on the east side. The entire entrance is above water. There are a pair of sahuagin guards leaning against the rocks. Up close, they have recently been slain and propped up to make it look like they are still on duty.
Vordat: "This is far as we can go (points to the tail instead of legs). Inside is a sea elf scout, who will tell you how to get to a hidden spot, to watch over their camp. He will signal us when it looks like you have found the prisoners, and we will raid their entrance on the southwest side.
Vordat gestures to another mermaid, who hands you 2 more fish bladders. These are not the same color as ones used for the healing potions. "Please accept these 2 special waters. They are only potent for tonight, and will only last a minute apiece, so wait until you think peril is imminent. The dark grey one will grant great physical strength. The blue one will make its drinker more heroic, like a Blessing spell... May Selune grant her blessings to you." His group sinks into the water. Your group is standing outside the entrance. (Please decide who is holding which bladder, and what you are doing next.)

Isk looks at Reverie after hearing Trimyrai pass on the strength drink and says, "It would probably benefit you the most. The blessing drink would be useful for anyone, but perhaps Trim, you might make the most use out of it?"
Isk opens his right palm and a whisp of purple smoke comes from seemingly nowhere before convalescing into a long glaive. He whispers a few words and frost rimes his clothes accompanied by the sound of soft snaps and crackles (Armor of Agathys).
”Thank you”Jack..... unwillingly takes the dark grey bladder. “Hey Reverie. You don’t feel like dieing from those fish bladders you drank from, do ye?”
Reverie looks back at Jack after what she heard from Vordat, and then nods. "I understand." Then she frowns slightly when Jack mentions that he doesn't trust the Merfolk. "Of course, we should." However, she takes it to her mental note and decides to ask him when the rescue is finished.

While the talking was going on Trimyrai used Prestidigitation to warm up his clothes to prevent shivering.
Trimyrai: (to the party) "How are we suppose to be stealthy while riding these dolphins?"

OoC - with Quasi's explanation, lets stick with riding the dolphins
