OoC - apologies for being a little inactive. Also, for sake of ease, assume Isk has Mage Armor on all the time (its an at will ability), even though he is wearing the studded leather.
As soon as the party approaches the porperty, Isk moves his right hand and summons the large glaive. He'll take up position next to Reverie, glaive at ready. "Let's sweep the area floor by floor, starting with the ground floor here...since its where we are." As we move down the hall, Isk will use the bladetip of the glaive to give each statue a poke from 10 feet away, just to be on the save side.
(You both make a good point... Scale mail is almost the same price as studded leather. Iskander can either have studded leather in his backpack (use Mage Armor), or he can have scale mail (+1 AC but with stealth disadvantage). Your choice.)

Froskan and Jack hear metallic creaking above. Froskan holds his staff up, and everyone can see the animated suit of plate mail clinging to the ceiling above the stairs. (Helmed Horrors can fly.) Trim was in the middle of putting away the still-hot torch, so he is a bit slower in getting his bow ready.
Combat begins - round 1
Initiative order - (1) Froskan, Iskander, Jack, Reverie, (2) helmed horror, (3) Trimyrai. All people in group (1) are up.
It is currently 20' up in the air, 15' west of the party's current position, armed with a long sword.
You can post ahead of time, if you want. If someone in group (1) wants to act after someone else in the same initiative group, make a note of it. (If you decide to Ready a melee attack, go ahead and roll for to-hit and damage.)

(Responding to Trimyrai before hearnig the helmed horror) "I'm not worried about stealth, I just want you to have both hands free to use your bow!" Froskan says. (That's why he cast the light spell instead :P)
He lets out a small gasp as he lifts his staff higher and reveals the horror clinging to the ceiling like a spider. He raises his free hand and casts Frostbite at the horror (DC13 con, 2 damage and disadvantage on next attack), then immediately follows it up with a quickened Chromatic Orb. (If the frostbite misses or hits and isn't noticably weak (resisted), it'll be his standard ball of ice chromatic orb. If the frostbite hits and seems to be resisted (or completely ineffective), then change up the CO to be....a ball of lightning instead.)
OoC - d'oh, misread the gear. Isk is happy to just use mage armor and let someone else have the suit of studded leather or scale mail, if someone else can make better use of it. Otherwise, he'll keep it in his bag and use mage armor.

Jack's boomerang just hits. (This HH does not have a shield.) The boomerang does 2 damage. The non-magical weapon does less damage, but it can still batter a suit of plate armor.
Armor CON save vs. Frostbite: 18 The HH is resistant to magic (advantage on save throws). The spell wasn't effective, but the frost still covers the armor. Froskan launches an ice orb, which hits it and does the full 15 damage.
Iskander and Reverie do their ranged attacks, but they glance off the plate mail. (Misses).
The Helmed Horror lands near the entrance, next to Froskan and Iskander. It grips its long sword in both hands, and takes a chop at each of them. Froskan Attack: 17 Damage: 6. Iskander Attack: 7 Damage: 8. (EDIT: Froskan cast Shield as a reaction, so the attack was deflected at the last moment.)
Trimyrai takes a step back, and his magic bow is strong enough for the arrow to penetrate the plate metal for 8 damage.

Froskan quickly throws up a Shield to block the helmed horror's blow, then sends another bout of Frostbite at it (1 damage). If it hits, he will take the chance to try to retreat from the creature. If not, he stays put.

Froskan's spell does 1 cold damage. He moves north, and stops short of the doors on the eastern part of that hallway.
The other blows either hit or do no damage to the armor. But the helmed horror tried to follow Froskan, and was kept in place.
It swings its long sword twice at Iskander. Attack1: 23 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll., Attack2: 23 Damage: 7 Iskander is hit for 13.
Trimyrai backs a little more to the east, and is almost to the wall. His arrow punches through the armor (6 piercing damage).
Combat - Round 3
(Still using the map from post 1709.) The helmed horror is just west of the entrance doors, and is in melee range of Reverie, Jack, and Iskander. Froskan is 15' north, not quite to those double doors. Trimyrai is as far east as he can go, south of that door (away from the statues lining the north part of the entrance hall).
HH has a Hex spell on it. It's CON saves are at disadvantage. The armor is unaffected by the necrotic damage. The eldritch blast from round 1 was force damage, which the armor is immune to.
HH has taken a total of 32 damage.
Iskander has taken 13 damage (11/24 hp). Froskan has one of Jack's inspirations.

(I believe you can’t do that. However, with DM permission, you might have never put it on)
