Reverie sees that the water is normal. Stagnant swamp water, filled with algae and disease, but nothing magical.
Mercury Jupiter thinks this glowing gem is like a magical item he read about, but he doesn't remember which one.
After Katrina says that the gem doesn't sound like any Fey item she has heard about, Jack plucks it out of the water. The bright white light illuminates around you, which is covered up as Jack reaches over his shoulder to bury it in his backpack.
There is a rustle in the plants in and around the clearing, like a gust of wind (although the air is still). You start to hear faint whispers from the plants on the other side of this pool of water. It is definitely language of some kind, but you can't make out the words. (Edit: The whispers are from a mass of plants immediately to the left of the pool on the map.)

Froskan also backs away from the whispers and sounds of movement in the vegetation, peering around and trying to see what's moving (Perception: 1). "I don't like this..."Worried that whatever the sounds are, they might be happening because they took the gem, Froskan casts a Minor Illusion, making an image of the gem back where it was originally in the water, then casts Light on the illusion to make it appear as if it's glowing.
There are humanoid-shaped plants that stand out of the muck and surrounding plant life. You recognize them as Blights, evil growths that lurk around other dark fey creatures.
The two along the western side are a mix of pine and cactus and swamp slime. The Needle Blights step into the clearing to get closer, and target the people in front.

Within 15' of it, vines erupt from the ground and try to entangle the party. (The group was backing off, so it can't get half of you. Af, Jack, and Froskan are just outside the area of effect.)
Three figures emerge from the north. Smaller, and look like dead dry brush, swinging sickle-like arms. The Twig Blights will act later.
There is motion going on to the south, but nothing has emerged yet, this round.
Reminder: The map has 10' squares. The party is in 2 groups, but you can move freely.
Jupiter has taken 5 points of damage from being sprayed by thorns and needles.
The area around the Vine Blight is rough terrain (half movement), due to the vines grown from the magic effect. All the tree-like areas on the map are rough terrain, and might be hiding something in the thick vegetation. The brown area (the previous trap) can be moved though safely if you use half-speed (faster will require an Acrobatics roll).
Everyone in "Group 1" (Reverie, Theren, Katrina, Jupiter) has to make a STR save roll at the start of your turn this round. If you roll below a 12, you are restrained. You may use your Action to break yourself or someone else free (STR check, 12 or higher).

Katrina tenses up, but there's still a shaky smile on her face. Sure, the situation was... less than ideal, but the enemies in question were plants. Not that it made them any less dangerous, but it did make them alot more flammable! Hopefully, if she cast Create Bonfire at the nearest enemy, the fire would spread enough to reach a few enemies, but the swampy area's dampness would keep itfrom spreading far enough to light the whole area on fire.

(I needed to use better words. For the 4 people affected by Entangling Plants, the initial check is a STR saving throw. If they are caught, to break free is a STR check. So in this case, although Jupiter has a -1 for his STR mod, as a Monk he had a +1 for his saving throw.
And since the map is in use, don't forget to say if you want to use your movement.)
Both Jupiter and Katrina are able to move freely, and have stepped outside the circle of vines.
Jupiter has a hex on NB2, but missed with his spear throw.
Vine Blight WIS save10 Twig Blight DEX saves 18, 1
Katrina's bonfire causes TB3 to almost explode in a ball of fire. The dry wood burned quickly, and it no longer moves. TB2 avoided the flames. TB1 and TB2 use their Movement, and their Action as another move, to move next to Reverie and Theren, inside the ring of vines.
The Vine Blight, despite having a head of fiber, uses its vines to rip off pieces of its head, and looks ready to run to the west next round.
(The rules don't say, but I'm going to treat the Vine Blight effect like a concentration spell. Needs to get 10 or higher: 13 )
Theren and Reverie were struggling against the vines, but the plants soon fall limp. They are free to move normally. The rest of the vines in that circle also flop over. (That area is no longer "rough terrain".)
