It is only after a few moments of pulling by Sallah, and some intense concentration by Reverie to relax her hand, that she is able to let it go... temporarily... Marion interjects to Reverie. "It may take some time to get that thing fixed. If you know ahead of time that you are going into combat, you can find a cleric to cast Remove Curse on you and the weapon. That will keep the curse rage under control. But that will only work for a day at a time. And it will cost you 90 GP every time it is cast, and quite a bit more if you wanted scrolls with that spell... Well, that is only a short term fix."
(OOC: Reverie will be able to cast Remove Curse, but only when she reaches level 9. That is far enough away that she shouldn't count on it.)
Sallah speaks next. "The scabbard is badly damaged, but it previously had distinctive markings and symbols. The blade too, but it can't be seen clearly beneath the tarnish and stains. This weapon has intelligence. Awareness. It was discarded and hidden in the Shadowfell, until it lost its "identity". That is the source of the rage.
"If you can fix the damages, find out what it used to be... restore the purpose, the reason for this weapon... the curse will go away. However, that will require skilled weapon smiths, lore masters, scholars... A lot of difficult work. That is the task ahead of you."
"The history of the Forestgleams is out of our expertise. If there comes a time when you can't find the answers yourself, but have enough wealth to spend, we can find colleagues who would be willing to do the research for you. As long as you pay for their scholarly pursuits, of course."
The scimitar is carefully slid back to Reverie.
At that point, the guards outside are knocking at the door, asking if your group is done. You collect your pay, shake hands with Sallah and Marion, and return to the 4H for dinner and a night's (long) rest.

This is the 2nd info dump, that I mentioned in post 3318.)
After a night's rest, it is the morning of the 18th of Winter Firstmoon, 212 ADC. Isk, Jack, and Reverie relax after yesterday's fights, while Trimyrai and Froskan complete their last day of training. At the end of the morning, the writing has faded on their instruction scrolls, but their skills have improved (permanently).
Trimyrai has learned the Sharpshooter feat (already added to character). He is as deadly at 200 yards with his bow as he is from 10 feet away. Combined with the Eyes of the Eagle, foes might never get a chance to see the face of their attacker, before the arrow strikes.
Froskan has learned the Elemental Adept - Cold feat, and acquired a Ring of Fire Resistance (already added to character). His cold attacks will have a little more kick, and the devils and demons will feel the full brunt of his frost spells, despite their resistance... At the end of his training, the blue fluid in the vial (which could not be frozen under natural conditions) condensed into a color-changing garnet. (The gemstone appears blue in the morning sunlight, and purple in the evening sunlight.) Mounted as a ring, the cold of the stone will soothe Froskan from high temperatures.

A pair of Iron Gate members show up after your celebratory lunch (for Trimyrai and Froskan finishing their training). They had been looking for Rose, but no sign of her.
(I will be throwing around a lot of names, so I'll give you a primer first:
Rose was Trimyrai's sweetheart
Darvin was the previous village athletics winner, before Trim won most of the competitions
Warton was the village leader.
Bane is one of the major gods; LE god of tyranny, fear, slavery, domination )
There were signs of Darvin and Warton, but by accident. Another group of Iron Gate members had been watching members of the Bane church. Those members were in disguise, and visiting important city officials. The Iron Gate was watching them for suspicious activity. Within the past month, Darvin, Warton, and others (not from Trim's villagers) were seen visiting some of those same officials, brazenly wearing Bane insignia.
The Iron Gate pair ask if have any questions, if you want to keep hiring them, and if there are any changes in what you want them to do.

Trimyrai: (to the Iron Gate members) "There is no doubts about this information? You are sure it was them? and that they were wearing Bane symbols?"
The two people from the northern villages were different from the normal city folk: paler, rough skin, larger. Later on, they were able to match up Trim's description with the people seen by the other group of investigators.
The original Bane minions (in disguise, without Bane symbols) were trying to hide their meetings with city officials. For the more recent visits (which included Darvin and Warton), they were wearing flashy clothing, large Bane symbols on the chest and back, and boldly visiting those officials.
If Trim wants to continue paying the IG to watch for his villagers (at 10 GP a day), then they will keep an extra person at their Bane stakeouts. If those northern villagers show up again, the extra person will trail them to see where they go.

"Trim, do you know why they would be aligned with Bane? That seems... disconcerting."
The Iron Gate pair agree with Iskander.
The church of Bane controlled most of the slave trade up to the past year. At that point, forces near Nunkreet smashed the goblinoid forces to the north, and a number of armies to the far east attacked Bane forces above ground and in the Underdark. (This pair telling you this are not aware of Trimyrai's village to the north, or Iskander's former army and the Forestgleam family to the east.) With the Bane forces defeated, for the past year the (remaining) church leaders have been acquiescent with what the Nunkreet authorities have ordered them to do. No reports of slavers associated with Bane in recent months.
And it doesn't make sense that people who were captured a year ago would work with Bane-ites... although they might be under magical suggestion or control.

(OOC: That is a reasonable option. If the other party members agree with this, I'll come up with something else in the Pit. If the party wants to buy or build a house or tower outside the city some day, that will require a lot more gold.
Although Trimyrai is narrowly focused on getting the location of villagers from the Iron Gate, there are other things the group could be doing. These are some suggestions, but it really is wide open to whatever you want.
Could talk to some of the city officials that had met with Darvin and Warton. Since these people have political power, you'd have to be careful about how you talk with them.
Visit the main Bane church. Not sure what you would say or do, but it is a choice.
Could try to find more skilled weapon-workers or arcane scholars, to gather information about Reverie's cursed scimitar.
Ask to join one of the stakeouts. Or ask more questions about the details, if you had specific bits you weren't sure about.
Explore more of the city. The Campaign Page has the link to the post with a basic map and short description.
Visit the Harbor of Nunkreet, to the south of the city. )
