“Feywild?”Jack sighs, taking a look at Froskan and Reverie. “Remember the last time we took a little trip to that place? I think ye still have a little souvenir.” He chuckles a bit. “Trim, we’ve been there before. No more difficult than our average baddies. We took down a giant tree, even. Now that was a long while ago- back when we had the original crew, wasn’t it?”
(ah, the Feywilds. Who remembers our little trip there- back when we had everyone else?)
After Egg Chen is curious about Jack's comment about the Feywild, your group mentions briefly the encounter in the Silvanus Swamps (somewhere around posts 88-243 in this thread). "Some Fey creatures crossed over, but you were not in the Feywild. This is the difference between being stung by a few wasps, and stepping onto a big hive.
"The swamps, less than 2 months ago... You only traveled around an established trail at the edge of that swamp. The situation there has gotten worse since then. That village where (most of) you started, near the Argali Lake, can no longer be reached by that trail. Anyone traveling there has to cross the Copper Mountains or make a long trip over the sea, which have hazards of their own... I hear talk that a baron is trying to organize a small army to clear out that swamp (and make a name for himself), but we will see if that is just talk or if it becomes action."
Realizing he has started rambling, EC turns to Trim. "Hard to compare directly. With the Negative Plane bleeding into the ShadowFell, everything there is hostile to life. In the Feywild, it has an abundance of life. But life competes with other life for any valuables, right? Even though the fey live by the rule "harm no outsiders", it is possible for visitors to become enchanted to stay forever, or be tricked into giving up their lawful protections... You will be making a short visit, that doesn't involve the Archfey, so it won't be as dangerous as if you were sightseeing."
EC starts to go on a tangent again. "The Feywild and the Shadowfell are "echoes" of our world, with similar topography as our world. And the lands (and seas) around Nunkreet can more easily reach the Outer Planes than anyplace in the world... Isn't it odd that there is no counterpart to Nunkreet in the Feywild? Just a great big void of impassable nothing. When you used that Oghma portal to the Shadowfell, it teleported you to a place near what would be Still Lake (here), but is hills and mountains in the Shadowfell."
He realizes he is going off topic again. "I need to confer with some of my colleagues who deal with crossing the planes. Come back tomorrow morning. We can give you an item that will get you to where you need to go in the Feywild, based on the readings I've taken for this scimitar... The price will be, anything that you find there that helps you, you have to bring a sample back to me. (For example, if you were getting a branch to make a magic wand, you'd have to bring back a second branch.)... This won't fully repair the weapon, but if I am correct, the lady will find it more powerful and won't need the daily casting ofRemove Curse."

A bit of the confidence drains from Froskan's manner at Egg Chen's comment that they hadn't actually been in the Feywild, but not entirely. After all, they HAD actually been in Shadowfel.
Reverie looks at Jack and then to Froskan when Jack mentions their early adventure and fights against the monstrous tree and the scarecrows. They met each other in that mission and became great friends. Of course, some of their friends left for their purpose and goals, but inevitably they will cross the road once again. She then looks back at Egg Chen.
”Since we all got through the Shadowfell together, I am sure that we can go through the Feywild also.” Then she looks at her friends: Jack, Froskan, Trimyrai and then Iskander. ”Is everyone okay with this?”

“A Feywild’s a Feywild. We had some experience with some of them- we can handle the rest!” He says, smirking. ”and maybe we’ll even see something new. Last time we encountered something like that, Froskan got a Pearl, didn’t ye? Who knows what else’ll be there.”
Your group is willing to face this new adventure, and you depart after scheduling a time early the next morning.
(OOC: Jack still has the plaque. There is an obvious question that I thought he or someone else would ask about it, but you can do that after the mission. You had to do some fast talking to ease Egg Chen's suspicions, so this question could wait until he is in a better mood.)
As you have dinner at the hotel, and it is almost 24 hours since the previous time that Isk cast Remove Curse, you can see the strain on Reverie increase. But she tries to pretend that it is nothing (even though you can tell it is a burden), and she is more concerned about finding Trimyrai's fellow villagers soon.
Fully armed with your fighting and traveling gear, you return to the museum's research rooms the next morning. Egg Chen says he has to make a few more magic spells with the cursed scimitar, and everything will be ready in 30 minutes. (Mumbling: "ritual takes 10 minutes... 10 and 10 and 10 is...") While he is doing those preparations, he invites you to look at some reading material about the Feywild that he borrowed from the library.
(OOC: I'll mention anything really important about the Feywild as it comes up. Or if you as players have questions, I'll figure out if it was in these articles. You don't get to take the articles with you, so it is only what you read in these 30 minutes, or already knew.)
Egg Chen holds up a triangle (musical instrument) as big as your head, made out of some material you don't recognize. "This will take you where you need to go. I don't know exactly where in the Feywild, or what you have to do, but you'll be able to figure it out. It should be somewhere north along the Greens River, if you were still in this world instead of the Fey.
"You strike it to travel to your destination, once for each task to (partially) repair the scimitar. When the third task is done, strike it a fourth time to return here." (hands you a large purse-pouch, with sample jars) "Our transaction is complete after you return the triangle and hand me my share of what you find."
(OOC: I'll wait a bit, if you had any questions or something to discuss with the rest of the party. Or if you are ready, tell me who rings the triangle.
We can always retcon the timeline if you think of a question that you'd ask before leaving.)

Nothing seems to happen. But then you blink, and all of you are in another world. (Surely the five of you did not blink at the same time. But the experience was the same for all of you.)
You are in a glen, thick with green grass and spring flowers. (Back on the Prime Material plane, it is grey winter.) Jack looks around at the new surroundings, bewildered by the surroundings. The smells and appearance of the place are overwhelming, but Jack grips his Necklace, and pulls the Bag of Holding where he stored the Plaque to his side, smirking. He listens to the waters running, and begins to look at the Jungles.
”so, Egg Chen said nothing here would hurt us, correct? Then that means we should be fine, for the most part.” He takes a moment, to regain his composure. “I hear water. But there’s also that jungle. Where do ye guys think we should go?”

In response to Jack's question, the green-skinned woman leans on his shoulder and says something. Unfortunately, none of you speak the language. (The normal tongue in the Feywild is "sylvan". You suspect it might be this... Does Reverie activate her helmet? Do any of you want to try a different language?)
Everyone takes a step back at this woman who appeared out of nowhere. She looks elvish, lovely in appearance with green skin, clad in brown vines and a pile of tree leaves in autumn colors. From stories you have heard in childhood, she is how you imagine a dryad would be.
She is standing, with arms open in a peaceful gesture. Her tone was friendly, but she also looks weary and strained, even more than Reverie in the moments before Isk renews the Remove Curse spell. Her perfume is even more intense than the flowers around you. Jack gets a heavy dose, which makes him sneeze, but his magic necklace is helping to filter out the fragrance.

Reverie blinks as she witnesses this sudden change. Looking around this scenery of this realm, she amazes about its appearance. The sky seems so beautiful to her, but she decides to be careful as soon as she remembers what Egg Chen says. Then she looks back at Jack when he mentions about the water. Reverie nods, but she couldn't reply to Jack when she witnesses the woman figure leaning on Jack. ”Jack!” she warns him just in case if this woman figure would hurt her friend.
Realizing that Reverie has a helmet, she activates her helmet to understand that Dryad.

Froskan stops for a moment and stares around himself as the world changes in the literal blink of an eye, simply standing and absorbing the chaos of color and scents. He gives a small shake and snaps out of it as he hears the 'conversation' begin between the dryad and Jack. Noting that she clearly didn't understand his 'common' speech, Froskan tries greeting her in Elvish. If she doesn't understand that, he tries again in Draconic and Goblin, just to be thorough.
After Froskan asks (in Elvish), "Do you understand Elvish?", the Dryad brightens up. Trimyrai joins in, to verify: "So you speak Elvish?"
(Iskander is the only one who doesn't. But the other members of the party are keeping him in the loop... Although it is no longer necessary. Reverie activates her helmet, in case any other strange languages are spoken in the next hour. Better safe than sorry.)
The Dryad steps away from Jack, and presses up against the side of Trimyrai. (in Elvish) "Thank the gods, you understand me. My sister and I are caretakers of this grove. Dark beasts appeared and intruded, threatening our trees. My sister is holding them off, but I know not how much longer she can resist them. I got away, but I need to bring back help. You all look like mighty warriors. Will you aid us in our time of need? Please, I beg you!"
Trimyrai is caught off guard by this strange woman creature crowding him. But he gradually relaxes, as he is moved by her plight.
For Trimyrai only:
Trim is still in full control of his wits, and won't do anything he wouldn't normally do. But he strongly wants to help this Dryad.
Trim finds himself thinking of Rose, despite this lovely Dryad having no resemblance to his sweetheart. Trim is reminded of his fear at what might be happening to Rose and the other villagers, and the frustration of not being able to help them.
Seeing the terror and hope in the Dryad's eyes... maybe saving her will ease Trim's heart, until he is able to find and free Rose.
