Reverie looks at Noam for a moment before she shows him her document that has her family’s surname. ”My name is Reverie Forestgleam and I am wondering if Bommie sent you any message about us, good sir. We just finished our request a day ago, and that is why we would like to have some air, to refresh our mind from the fight.”

A sigh. "We don't have any specific task requests open right now, but you all said you wanted time to look around Greensville anyways... There is a general request for all adventurers. People have been missing near the coastline, from boats and from farms. Only a person here or there, but the reports have been adding up. In your wanderings, if you find these people, bring them back. If you discover what has been taking them, or killing them, report that information. If it is too powerful for a young group such as yourselves, the guilds and guards can organize if we know what we are up against... The reward depends on the quality of the information or the quantity of rescues.
"That's the best I can do right now. You can check back in a few days if any new requests have been posted."

DMing "Gallia Campaign 1".
Looking for a new game, if you need a player private message me.
(You don't have to accept a request. If you discover anything which you thinks applies, you can go back to Noam and report it. Or the city guard or another adventuring guild, although they will give a smaller reward to strangers that haven't earned their trust.
If you are getting confused about the geography, on the Campaign page I have linked the forum posts that have the hand-drawn maps that you have discovered so far.)
Greensville is a town, but like most places on the frontier, is underpopulated. The availability of land and fresh opportunities is offset by the dangers and difficulties in getting here. There is a reasonable amount of commerce from ships resting in the bay to the west. Ships traveling around the northern edge of the continent pass by here, but most continue on to the Harbor of Nunkreet. The city guards eye your group, as folks in full armor and all their weapons are not usually sightseeing, but they don't cause any trouble.
(Your group is free to go where you will. It is about an hour after noon. If you are wandering, pick a direction or a destination, like the bay leading to the ocean, for example. If you want to go shopping for a particular armor/weapon/equipment, you should be able to find an appropriate shop. Theren's "urchin" background will let you navigate around this unfamiliar town, and Froskan's "sage" background helps if you want to research any odd bit of knowledge.)

Your group finds a shop that sells arms and armor. The entrance sign includes the holy symbol for Gond, the "Lord of Smiths and Woodworkers". (Before Jupiter left your party a dozen days ago, he mentioned Gond and the dwarven god Moradin as the deities for crafters.) You are greeted by a young dwarf. There are store displays of many of the weapons that you can find in the PHB, and samples of the materials for various armors, which would have to be crafted and assembled to order. You also find samples of non-weapon items, made of cloth, leather, bone, etc.
You are the only customers in the store. The prices are 25% higher than you expected. If Reverie wanted to buy a longbow, it would take most of her current savings, and a hand crossbow is more than Theren can afford.

I notice that Trim has a bunch of weapons in his inventory. Assuming that he is sticking with his magic longbow, maybe Reverie wants to buy his heavy crossbow + quiver of bolts? If your group does not feel like doing fights/errands for this weapon smith, he'd be willing to purchase Trim's light crossbow and non-magical longbow, which should make it easier for Theren to buy the hand crossbow.
I'm not sure which direction your group wants to go from here: other stores, libraries, a particular chapel, western docks, southern slums, northern gentrified area, ocean fishing, ??
