(No worries. I've mentioned that I would wait longer for posts, so people won't feel so stressed. I put up a reminder, but you still had another day to react... In any case, that is a hit and full damage on the mimic blob... Froskan is up.)

Realizing none of hte foes are actually next to him after all in all the confusion, Froskan backs further away and launches a pair of chromatic orbs (cold, level 2, Twinned) at the mimic and the gargoyle
Player round 4 - (after a couple rounds of bad rolls, every attack hit)
The mimic is hit by both of Reverie's attacks (7 damage), Jack's attack (7 damage), and Froskan's ice orb (24 cold). That combined with the previous damage is over 60 hp, which is enough for bits of jello-mimic to be splashed around the room.
Trimyrai moves away (no opportunity attack from the dead mimic), and his arrow strikes the gargoyle for 12 damage total. Iskander gets a solid blow for 13, and Froskan's 2nd ice orb just penetrates the rocky hide of the elf maiden (14 damage). Total damage including previous rounds = 46 points.
Round 5
The gargoyle is damaged heavily, but still attacks back at Iskander. (They are both still at the top of the ceiling.) Attack: 18 Damage: 4, Attack: 20 Damage: 5 Both strikes hit, but the damage is mostly deflected by mage armor (9 points).
Status - Jack (12/24 hp), Reverie (11/28 hp), Iskander (5/24 hp), Trimyrai (12/25 hp).
The Gargoyle (46 damage) is next to Iskander, up in the air.
After several rounds of futile attacks, Reverie seems entirely too happy to have nothic and mimic goo coating her armor and weapons.
Entire party is up. (One or two hits should finish off the gargoyle.)

(Reverie's bolt hits, and 7 is enough. Combat has ended. Your party has cleared the house.)
Reverie's bolt hits a damaged section, and creates a large crack. The gargoyle stops flying, and breaks into rubble as it hits the floor. (It tried to land on Jack, but he deftly stepped away from the impact.)
The party searches the room. Nothing of value. A pair of open, empty flasks on the table; no telling what they used to hold. There is a large key, which is identical in shape to the spare key your group used to get through the library secret passage. There are no other exits to this room.
Jack checks the rope he put around the cloaked figure at the desk, and pulls back the hood. The skin is dried out and withered, but the features are the same as the portraits of Adram around the mansion. The body's chest is... empty. Something humanoid-sized crawled out of the chest, leaving a shell of skin behind, like a cocoon. The left arm is petrified, the stone going from the elbow to the finger tips. (It is long dead. Reverie double checks with Divine Sense, and there are no undead or other unnatural beings in range.) (EDIT: I didn't mean that there was a wooden chest, but the body cavity below the head. Sorry if there was any confusion.)
(Let me know if there is anything else you wanted to do in the house, before going to Noam to report that the assignment has been completed.)

Isk drops to the ground. His spectral wings break apart into tiny motes of light that blow away on an un-felt breeze.
He pokes at the left behind skin cocoon and makes a disgusted face. He turns to the body in the chair, "Looks like Adram wasn't successful in...whatever he was trying to do. Do you think he was in the chest or, something else?"
"Do you think he was in the chest or, something else?"
(In case I was being confusing, I've edited post 2060 slightly. By "chest", I mean the body cavity inside the rib cages. I did not mean a wooden box to hold money.)
Iskander notices some green ichor around the body opening. Without "CSI" type investigative tools he can't be certain, but it strongly resembles the Nothic remnants (after Reverie divine-smited it).

Reverie frowns as she gazes at the figure for a moment. It is indeed a disgusting feature to see, but she also wants to take this goo off of her armor and such. "So am I. I want to take this goo off of my armor and take a bath if I can," she says quietly, shaking her arms a bit to take off the goo of mimic and the Nothic. Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
(The key on the desk is the same as the spare key found on the upper level: used to open the secret door in the library to get to the basement.)
Your group leaves the house, locking the front door on the way out. (Don't want the neighborhood kids to vandalize the house.)
It is after sunrise of the morning of the 30th of Autumn Thirdmoon. Tomorrow morning is the start of the SnowFall Festival, so you'll have a day to recover and relax, after reporting to Noam at the Watchful Guild.
You will have to hand in the journal that was discovered on the upper floor (family property). But the walk from the mansion to the Guild is long enough that Jack (or someone else) can skim through the pages and read it to the group. (I'm putting it in "spoilers" so this post doesn't take up too much space. The information inside won't affect your future, so you can skip it, but you might be curious what happened inside the house.)
The journal is painfully boring to read. Adram spends pages on the most minute details of his life. For instance, one day is what time he woke up, how many peas he ate for lunch, what shade of green every pea was, how many steps he took to walk from the bed to the library, and so forth. Day after day of this, for hundreds of years. Fortunately, you are able to skip to the unusual events:
A few years back, he heard of a myth about a statue becoming a flesh & bone bride. The details are different, but it is similar to the Greek tale of Pygmalion. Adram decided he wanted to make a bride of his own, through arcane means instead of praying to the gods.
He commissioned 17 artists to make statues. The one he liked the best went in the hidden basement. The other 16 were put in the ground floor hallways.
He spent months studying animating objects, turning flesh to stone, stone to flesh, and creating intelligence. He became able to animate suits of armor, a rug, and the flying swords. He was able to create the Mimic, but that horrible creation was the limit of his skills.
He arranged for 3 basilisks to be shipped to the house, and placed in the dining room. The house servants were tricked into the dining room, and turned to stone. Adram was able to animate a few of them as Stone Cursed, while the rest were food for the basilisks.
Adram was careless about the feeding and care of the basilisks, which is why only 1 of them survived.
Two weeks back, some people (the first group of investigators hired by the Diamondbrook family) broke in, destroying some of the Stone Cursed servants before they were petrified by the basilisk. Adram put his finest armor creation, a Helmed Horror, to guard the front door and prevent any more intruders.
The handwriting on the last pages is harder to read. The intruders caused an accident where Adram's left hand turned to stone, with the petrifying slowly spreading to the rest of his body. He would have to risk drinking his most recently made potion, before he turned to stone. The textbooks warned of the risks, such as unnatural transformation into a non-elf creature, but Adram felt confident in his potion making skills. He would also apply it to the statue in the basement, and hopefully bring his bride to life.
(That was the last entry.)
