It’s been a really busy week. I’ll post today with updates.
All the armour/weapons you found are good.
The next post will push the story forward.

The other chest had the rest of the items you got.
The desk is empty.
In the hallway, you hear some more clicks in the distance.
Looking down the hallway, it seems to go on to an intersection about 65 feet away, given that there’s probably a light source from the Paladin.

We’re about 1/25 the way through. I know it got really slow. My fault. I got sick and got caught up with work.
Let’s push through this and get it going again!

(Just a heads up that my wife is out of town, so I'm watching the kids by myself, so my posting will probably be less reliable until she gets back tuesday night)
Alzaren nods to Odysseus and waves a hand for the other to go first.
Inching closer, you come to a two way intersection. Left or right. Left seems to go for a bit, then curve to the right. Right goes straight with a sharp right turn.

As the hallway curves around, it comes to another intersection. Right goes a little further and opens to a very large open room.
Left goes on a little with a flickering light in the distance. A shadow of a humanoid can be seen sitting beside the light.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(If odysseus' divine sense doesn't tell us anything useful)
Alzaren creeps forward through the darkness towards the figure, stopping just before the dim light starts to remain in the darkness, watching the figure as he approaches and trying to learn whatever he can about it.
(From gloom stalker, While in darkness, I ame invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see me in that darkness.)
Divine Sense comes up empty, short of the normal for this place. Nothing from the figure.
Sneaking up, you don’t sense that you’re seen.
A loud sniffing sound comes from the figure.
With a voice like he swallowed too many hot coals, hoarse and heavy and grating.
“Oh, indeed. I do smell something...nice”. The figure extends a hand friendly-like toward the spot left of you.
“I haven’t had a good conversation in many many years. Oh, I’m so tired though, but I can’t seem to sleep”.

Behind him, easily visible, is a tapestry of a golden face of a man. Torn and frayed by now, the glow from the brazier gives it an eerie golden hue all over.
The man himself is sitting, legs crossed, on the ground beside it. He would be very tall if he stood up. He has a ragged long face; frail and gaunt in some places. At his side is a very large cutlass next to the briazer.
He looks up. Green eyes meet yours. He wears a hat. Large and brimmed. It would nearly cover his eyes if he had’t looked up as he did.
His skin is an almost grey color. He wears ragged pirate garb, ancient looking. It’s torn here and there.
“Oh, but where are my manners?” He bows his head toward you. “I am Horace Tanglestomp.”

Odysseus takes in the pirate or sailor. The whole scene is out of place
Greetings, sailor, my name is Odysseus. I am sorry to ask but, since we are in a old temple at the bottom of the sea, filled with threats and monsters,
see? you must understand our mistrust: why are you sitting here and how do you survive?
Boran wanders back into the hallway to keep a look out
Alzaren moves over to search the desk.

ooc: no worries @squeabs , you are doing great, life gets in the way, no need to mention
Odysseus peers in the hallway and asks the others:
Shall we go ahead?

Odysseus waits for the others and then goes right
Boran follows Odysseus to the right
As does Alzaren

Odysseus masterS his courage
we have nothing to lose anyway...
and goes forward, keeping on guard
Greetings! Actually it is difficult to discuss with constructs and undeads, I imagine...
REACTION: if the person (whoever he is) tries something nasty, Odysseus uses the spell MISTY STEP
“Ho, it is, friend! It certainly is.”

“A few flagons of mead usually help me sleep, hahaha .... I would imagine. I can’t remember the last time I had a drink ... if ever”
