The Guards, after hearing the crashing of plates, look at each other and confer for a second. They draw and attach their shields to their arms and start slowly walking up the stairs, spears drawn.
Ellayne frowns as soon as she hears the guards walking up the stairs. This won’t be good at all. Her mismatched hues shift toward the stairs from the door. “The guards are coming.” She says as she prepares her darts and throws it to one of the guards. ”Stay back!” Ellayne warns to the guards.

Reverie Forestgleam—Human Paladin Level 5 in Frontier City of Nunkreet Extremely busy and busy as ever recently, but I will trying to catch up as much as I can
As you dart across to the stairway and launch your dart, it pings against the Guards shield as she holds it high in the air. She lowers it and screams out "They're here!"
Dorstear glances at the guards coming up the stairs, but is more worried about what's going on inside the room. Having shoved the door open a bit, he squeezes his way through to see what's inside.
(I'll post the rest of my turn once I get an update on what I see)
As you peer around the door, you see Zackary, or what's left of him. Mangled bones litter the floor, the top half of his body is sat up against the headboard of the bed. The creature, covered in blood, has stood up and is shambling toward the door. It looks like it was once an Elf, although something dark has extended it's limbs and given it's skin a greyish, stone coloured texture. It's jaw has been locked open, and pointed teeth gnash as it spots you in the doorway, it lunges forward, trying to pick up speed.
Seeing the mangled body of zackary, Dorstaer yells in rage, placing his Hexblade’s Curse on the creature and charging to smash at it with his quarterstaff with both hands.
Attack: 5 Damage: 9
(Dorstaer trips and falls straight into the creatures mouth and gets eaten!)
As you run through the door in a fit of anger, you miss the plates on the ground, stepping on one which slides out from underneath you and you slip onto your side. The creatures sunken eyes are fixed on you.
Wander looks towards the guards but pauses as he sees Dorstaer run into the room and trip on something and fall onto his side. Moving a step forward he will attempt to get the attention of the beast and to perhaps draw it out to show the guards they. ight have a common enemy at the moment. Skipping a hand down to his side he grabs a dzdt and throws it towards the creature.
Dorstaer lets out a scream as the creature bites into him, which is quickly cut off as it follows the bite with it's claws and he passes into darkness.
(Well that hurt. Shield spell could stop the first claw attack, but the other 2 together knock me unconscious anyway, so not really worth spending the slot. Don't even have hellish rebuke right now to make him pay for it bfeore I get knocked out. Boo for terrible stat rolls. +1 more con mod from 16 con instead of 14 with point buy and a shield could have kept me alive at 1 hp!!! :P)
Jebben lowers his frame behind the crates, bites his lower lip, and slides his notebook into a pocket on his pants leg. Then he re-positions himself in his hiding spot in order to see, between the door frame and the crates, the far end of the physical bar. He reaches across his torso with his right hand, touches his bagpipes, and sweeps the hand forward, moving it in a circular flourish at the crack, towards the bar. A deafening shattering sound, like dozens of plates being dropped from the roof, emanates from behind the bar.
The gnome then slinks out the back door, stopping once he's safely out of sight, to look for any danger.
SNViolent:
[Posting this before I go to bed, in case the other turns get finished while I'm sleeping. Since Jebben has no idea what's going on upstairs, and the guards have already taken their turn, I can't imagine anything happening that would make him act otherwise.]
Jebben is casting Minor Illusion to create an even louder version of the plate-crashing sound heard upstairs just moments ago. He wants to position the sound behind the far end of the bar in order to try to distract the guards and/or break them up into two groups. The save versus this illusion is Intelligence (Investigation) vs. DC 13. (Because this is a race spell, it uses Jebben's INT modifier, rather than the bard's CHA modifier.)
Then Jebben is going to move outside the door, and just around the corner, and have a good look at his new surroundings.
(The two 5s are exactly enough to drop me, 10 max hp :(. 1 less damage on either roll and I could have shielded the second attack away to survive the round at least.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing Dorstaer fall to the creature's savage attack, Vostaria wastes nothing in responding. She clutches her casting crystal and weaves three magic bolts of energy into existence. They dart through the air, striking the creature simultaneously.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The creature falls off of Dorstaer with the force of the magical bolts, and tries to claw it's way to it's feet.
The rear Guard turns around and walks down the stairs, investigating the plate smashing noise from below. The front guard walks forward, and strikes Ellayne with his spear.
Attack - 17 / Damage - 2
The middle Guard holds up his shield, protecting himself.

The rear of the tavern is an alleyway running right to left. It's packed full of civilians carrying food and other purchases. As you look right, you see a market in the distance, and left, the residential district.
