Lilyth shoots Cora a glare, a thought of strangling gently holding her throat passing the vampires mind before she went back to neutrality and stared at... something else.

Smiling, Cora looked away, shaking her head in disappointment. She didn’t think she would get the vampire all riled up there and then. All glare and no bite, she mused to herself. Typical.
But, she loved pushing her buttons. It was sexy how mad Lilly got.

(Damn this idol must curse the mind of whoever tries to look at it lol)
===DM===
Well, you try to analyze the statue together, but as far as Aendar and Cora can tell there are two facts you can decide from the statue. One is that it is written in ancient language called primordial, which Zolin and Aendar recognizes is a language commonly used by another native faction of Ixalan: merfolks who called themselves The River Heralds. The second fact is that you determine that it has two sentences written into it.
Sheshka rests her ax on her shoulder and rolls her eyes "I'm here for smashin', not readin'!" She gives a scan over the chests filled with copper "Lots of coin here, but it isn't exactly a treasure hoard. Still, too much to be traipsing through the jungle. We'll have to find a place to stash'em if we want to come back for it"
“Bah!!” Cora barks, tossing the idol over her shoulder. Stupid idol. She gives everyone except Zolin their share of the money and then sits down next to the fire.
As Lilyth puts away her coin in her pouch she glances over to where the statue was discarded (again), and goes over to pick it up (again).
”Even though we’re not familiar with what this is, we can still sell it, it’s made of jade after all.” Instead of pocketing it, she sets it back in one of the open chests. “We can bury it for now, somewhere near by, and come back when we’re done with our job.”
She closes the chest then looks over to Zolin. “Actually... Are you at all familiar with this jungle?” She questions. “We’re looking for a specific temple, you don’t need to help us, if you don’t want to, but a general direction would be nice.”

"Looking for a temple... repeats Zolin, "...do you mean the Temple of the Bat Demon?"
Zolin has some knowledge of the jungle and various paths through it, but he has only a vague notion of where a temple might be. This group becomes more interesting by the moment. What business do they have at a jungle temple?
Lilyth pauses a moment, a finger tapping at her chin, trying to remember what Alante had said about the temple.
"Yeah, that sounds about right..." The vampire concludes, dropping her hand to her side again. "Unless there are other temples around here." Everything was possible! "We have a map if that would help you better."

Mildly surprised to learn that his new acquaintances have a map of the jungle in their possession, Zolin replies, "Helpful indeed." The barbarian's interactions with Lilyth, although brief, have now revealed to him that she's a vampire.A short-tempered rogue, an orc, and now a biter. Quite a party you've stumbled upon, Zolin."
Zolin studies the map for a minute or so. "Through the jungle or along the shoreline it would seem. Each path has its own dangers."
Alright Zolin, as you are quite learned about these areas, you know these differences between those two routes.
If you take the jungle route, you will need to travel for two days to a place called The Primal Wellspring. The Legion rarely patrol this route, and encounter with wild dinosaurs is more likely, but maybe the most important is a large, dangerous, amphibious dinosaur called the Snapping Sailback, is frequently seen in the spring.
If you take the shoreline route, you will need to safely pass a twin shore fort called Fort Leor and Fort Duron, the danger is pretty obvious, but you need only one day to pass through the region to reach the next point of interest.
Whatever route you take, you will need go through a wild region called Unclaimed Territory to finally reach the temple.
Zolin gives the group his assessment of what they might encounter on either route to the temple. He does not, however, cast a vote. I could travel with them.
The barbarian knew he was of no benefit to the members of his squad--if any yet lived--by lurking like a solitary ghost in the jungle near the fort. He had found none of them, and he'd be a fool to attempt a rescue mission on his own. It was time to pick up, move on, and return to his unit. The temple wasn't exactly along the way to his destination, but that didn't trouble him.If I cross paths with the Legion, I'd have a few swords with me at least.
"If you are willing, I will go with you. Whichever path you choose."

Hells, a decent roll in something I never use. Awesome.
