Sheshka plants the ax head on the ground and leans on the haft. "Well you've been pretty forthright so far, and you haven't sunk any daggers into our backs yet. So that's a good sign. Of course, you're vastly outnumbered...so there's that." She gives a grin as that last big hangs in the air for a moment. "I say you come with us. More hands with swords, and you can't turn us in if you're with us the whole time."
Cora looked at the map after warming up a bit by the fire. She studied it for a moment, and selfishly considered her true mission first before considering what was best for the group. Hell came first wether she liked it or not.
“So it’s either dinosaurs or the Legion? Is that what it boils down to?” she said. Two days travel for one, one day travel for the other. To her it didnt matter much, all that mattered was her actual target.
Zolin listens to the orc's assessment of the situation. Shrewd and to the point.
"Correct on all accounts it would seem, Sheshka. Although, I can't imagine any of you would need turning in," quips Zolin as he pulls his javelins from the ground and prepares to break camp.
Lilyth steps out of the way to allow Zolin to better break down his camp. “I’m not particular in which route we take. The one that takes the least amount of time would be better for us, but,” Her face sours. “There may be a lot of Legion patrols, especially now after—“ The vampire cuts herself off by clearing her throat.
”Nevermind. Whether it be Legion or dinosaurs, so be it, I’ll kill it if it gets in the way.”

"My preference is for the coast. I know it and the sea better than most. If we can sneak by the fortress, we can make good time." Sheshka looks around the camp as Zolin breaks it down. "Still, we're already in the jungle. It may be easier to throw off pursuers in here..." She grins and gives Zolin a look "If we were to be pursued, that is."
Zolin gives a slight grin and a nod in response to Sheshka. The barbarian is uneasy about giving his opinion regarding which path to take. "The map is yours. The choice is yours,"he remarks to the group as a whole.
With your new ally, Zolin the barbarian, you continue through your journey through the interior of the island. The path is rough, but you encounter no dangerous beast just yet. As far as you can tell, you heard no other people traveling in you path. You cut through vines and thick vegetation following the map and Zolin's instruction to reach the place called The Primal Wellspring. After thick trees after thick trees, you encountered what appears to be a small river.
That's when you notice something move under the river's current, right in the middle of the river. Slowly, two humanoid figures surfaces from the middle of the river, both are merfolks armed with spears. They gesture a hand forward, as if stopping you in your journey.
"Halt you empire soldier and.....pirates, from here to the west is the territory of The River Heralds. What business bring you here?"
"Your word carry little weight, soldier. One day you let few man from the empire *pass through* and the next day a new outpost is erected right under our nose. I suggest you be honest in these sacred land"
The other herald whispers to the one who just replied Zolin in primordial.
"I can feel magic like our own on them, it is possible that these people are marauder under disguise"
Sheshka places her hands on her hips and furrows her brow "We don't have time for this! All we want is to pass through and get to the Unclaimed Territory and beyond. We have no desire to linger around your lands or even settle near it. "
Lilyth’s lips thinned, thinking to herself that this was going to go south very quickly the way Sheshka had answered them. She interjects by stepping forward to the two heralds and bowing in respect.
”We are simple adventurer’s seeking passage through here. We do mean no harm,” She looks to everyone else then back to the merfolk. “And we are not all from the empire, if you couldn’t tell.”

"If you don't believe us, why don't you lend us one of your's as guide to Unclaimed Territory? We may also pay you some coin if you need it", says Aendar taking out pouch of copper coins.
(ooc: i think we have some gold after checking chests, is it problem for anyone to pay some of it, if it's needed?)
Cora said nothing, only kept an eye on both the merfolk. Great. Interruptions. I've got a job to do, and an ex-girlfriend i'm trying to console with so she doesn't kill me in my sleep, she thought sarcastically. She looked around to see if, indeed, it was only two of them at the moment.

Her hand casually went to her blade holster, and rested on the hilt of one of her blades. Just in case. She thought of a phrase she heard long ago, "if the shit hit the fan", she would be ready.
You indeed acquire 350 copper coins in total from the chests you found in the beach.

Before anything else, Cora makes a quick investigation and observation of the surrounding and deduces that there's no sign other creature nearby, only these two heralds. Somehow though, Cora can still feel that there are more eyes that watches them, just that there are practically no sign of anyone hiding or passing.
The two heralds tenses up hearing Sheshka's words, but loosens a bit hearing Lilytnth's and Aendar's plea.
"Our culture needs little of conflict-ridden item as your coins. However, if you truly only wish to pass, we can certainly accompany you - not to *guide* you, mind you, but to *watch* over you"
The Orc sighs "Look, whatever gets us going. If it puts you at ease to follow along and make sure we leave, fine. So be it. Whatever gets the show on the road. Now, please, can we go?"

My vampire ex-girlfriend, a half-orc, and a barbarian. One can fight, one hates me, and one I hardly know. This should be fun.

I like this adventure, but it’s not moving at a fast enough pace :( Not sure what i’m gonna do.
(Alright Jungle route it is then)
Here's a map to help you visualize things a bit.

We are being watched. More than just two.
"Accept the offer." She mumbles to the group.
