There was a little hint of a smile that danced on the vampires lips a moment, using one of the rogues signature catchphrases herself, before she turned back to the heralds and spoke again.
”So be it then. Thank you.” She bows again and continues forth down the path they set out for.

Cora's gaze lingered just a moment too long on the vampire, recognizing her own catchphrase from her. She smirked at her, and looked back at the merfolk, her tongue playing with the inside of her left cheek. Her chest got a little bit warmer. She said nothing, seeing what the merfolk would do.
Zolin struggles to bite his tongue after hearing the words "watch over you." Nonetheless, the barbarian nods in response to Cora's advice. Under his breath, so only his new companions will hear, he says, "I fear this arrangement could unravel quickly."
"You seek the path to Uncharted Territory, so we take that you want to go the Primal Wellspring. Follow us"
As the two merfolk begin walking, they gesture their hands, as if motioning a casting a spell, but more fluent, as if dancing. With the wave of their hand, thick vegetation in front of you unravels themselves and muddy ground beneath solidifies, creating an easy to trek pathway. As you follow their path, the ground and trees that you just passed slowly huddles back together, as if nothing has ever passed there, leaving only a little tracks now covered again by bushes.
They walk in normal pace, and mostly silent. When the sun almost set, one of the Herald speaks to you.
"We will soon reach the border of the Heralds' territory. With the nature's power, we have no need of roads."
He seem to think a little before continuing.
"Say, how about you help us on something. As a reward, we will help you reach the Wellspring faster. In a less than one day from now you can reach the Wellspring with our power"
Crispy groaned loudly. Here came the catch, the favor. There always was one. She shifted her hips and made a pose like she expecting bad news, except with annoyance clearly on her face.
The herald continues to walk while he speak further.
"Some of you surely have heard of the great beast that resides in the Primal Wellspring. Lately, its shows an unusual aggresive behavior. Our kind frequent visit to the spring to meditate, so this has been a trouble"
"Our elders hates the idea of disturbing natural element of Ixalan and forbids us to harm it. But if some wandering brutes takes it out....."
"Well, at least we have a name for our merry band of adventurers...the Wandering Brutes. All that remains now is to create our mark on the lore of Ixalan," muses Zolin aloud.
Then, after looking sideways at Cora, the barbarian speaks to the Heralds. "It seems you now have a hunting party for your great beast. Tell us more."
"I appreciate your coordination. Worry not, our travel will be swift"
The merfolk looks relieved, but tries to keep a serious facade. He starts explaining while continue walking.
"Where do I start? This beast, three times the size of a large crocodile, spends most of its time underwater. Its most notable feature is the "fin" on its back that spans from its neck to its tail. Its fin can expand, as if forming a sail of your ships"
"It drags its prey underwater where even we merfolks can't easily fight its strength without using magic. Lately its definition of "prey" is somewhat expanded. Targetting anything that moves"
“Well, that’s exciting.” Lilyth deadpans in regards to the explanation of the beast. “I’ll try to keep you all alive as best as I can but please don’t do anything rash.” She gives a look over to everyone favorite MERRY rogue. “Cora.”

Lilyth hadn’t caught the last few words Cora had said (thankfully), instead paying attention to what the merfolk knew about the creature. She taps at her chin for a second, then opens her mouth.
“Which one out of us look the most tasty?”

Lilyth's eyes narrow at Cora’s sign.
Of course. Stay frosty.

"Then i'll quickly unravel their faces with my blades." She threatened in a lowered tone, fearless, casting Zolin a look. Wicked. Somewhat troubling.

Both merfolks look at each other and nods.

Not opposed to helping others, and definitely not opposed to rewards, Zolin responds, "Please explain. In what way can we help you?"
"BhUhUUuhhhh...!"
Crispy groaned loudly. Here came the catch, the favor. There always was one. She shifted her hips and made a pose like she expecting bad news, except with annoyance clearly on her face.

"Wandering brutes?!"
Her blood pressure rising, she sighed and tried to think about something else.
Like Lylith's legs - Hells have mercy."Fine." Cora said, as if doing the biggest favor in the word. "We agree to your terms."
"I am NOT merry." Cora grumbles absently back to Zolin, folding her arms across her chest.

Cora startled at Lilly's last word. She balled up her fists and tightened up, her lean muscle threatening to rip out of her tight leathers.
Calm. You deserved that. Easy.
Roll to calm down: 7
Easy. Steady.
"Fine." She said, glaring at her back. "I deserved that."
"You bloodsucking b***h.."
As Zolin strides along behind the Heralds, his mind chews on the challenge of fighting a marine creature. "Can we lure it out of the water?"
===DM===
"It might be possible, if it thinks something is tasty enough for it to leave the water"
"We heralds favor fighting in water, so we haven't thought of that option"
Says the other merfolk.

"I'll lure it out." Cora said, as if the answer to Lilly's question was painfully obvious. "What do I have to do?"
"If only the great beast liked things both sweet and merry..." quips Zolin.
“Cora is far from sweet and merry,” Lilyth smirked and crossed her arms over her chest. “She’s more bitter and sad than anything else.”
