Manon, still leading the party, is able to lead everyone through the swamp. Along the way, Irma notices a small Swamp Fire Berry bush, the leaves of which can be used to make the medicine to treat the Bog Flu. As time passes, Manon comes across a larger, open body of water, which Feldri seems to recognize. "We must be close. Good work, Sister Manon." In the air above, Oriros is able to see a small settlement across the body of water.
War Party A (Camp)
Corrin is brought into the lumber searching party, along with Tusk and a few other soldiers. Hugs gives you all the same options as the rest: Either swing the axe, find the lumber, or guard the workers.
The other officers similarly shrug at Jessica's question. "We've never seen anything like this. Either this is a big deal of a dragon, or something else is going on here." One of them leans in a bit closer, keeping his voice down so no one else can hear him. "I really hope it's the latter."
The halfling smiles at Liron as she puts the coin in the hat. "Excellent choice! Let's see how the game goes." As he returns to collecting bets, Oska finally makes his move, opting to attack one of Mara's vanguards. Mara smirks as she reveals that the leader of her vanguard is the Moonbow card, a direct counter to Oska's Centurion. Oska groans and continues to try and break apart Mara's defenses, losing commander after commander, until all that's left is his Emperor and a few foot soldiers. With a defeated tone, Oska raises his hand and says, "I concede. The game is yours." The area is filled with cheers of victory and groans of defeat as Mara bows to the crowd before picking up her deck. The halfling comes back over to Liron and deposits 1 gold piece and 5 silver into her hands. "A pleasure doing business with you!"
Paren, circling the campsite, finds nothing more than the odd lizard and a few mountain hares. Otherwise, the night is calm. A flicker of movement catches his eye on the cliffside above, but a few moments later, the shape reveals itself to be an owl, hunting for food.
Gubb shifts his weight a bit, seeming to be a bit ashamed. "I'm afraid we don't know much about the orcs. This outpost has always been too frequently under attack that we haven't been able to deploy a scouting party until... well, now, I suppose. If you all can find the orcs and report back here, we can lead a calculated assault on them. Though I am worried about what he said about a 'shaman.' Orcs don't normally use complicated magic..."
"Great! May we requisition some supplies for our journey, Captain?", Wraith asks as he turns to the gathered group. "For those who wish to join, let's step outside, away from the prisoner to discuss our plans."
As the others head outside, Wraith greets them. "Greetings to our new arrivals. I'm Wraith, a half-elven street rat who has struck a deal with a talking sword; but more on that later. Don't mind the albinism, it's my winter camouflage. To answer your question Ganathor, no I am not leading this expedition. I prefer to shirk responsibility at every opportunity; but I do want to avoid being a rat trapped in a hole with cats, or in this case Orcs, circling the nest. That's why I want to scout out the area & get some solid info on what the orc numbers are. Any one else want the job of leading the expedition?", Wraith asks with a sarcastic smirk on his face.
As Quoren finished saying that the Identify ritual didn't work, he was hit with a flood of information regarding the orb. The threefold magic was as follows: a Divination spell to track the orc's location, most likely bound to another magic object of a similar nature, followed up by an Evocation spell to kill the orc that would activate under certain conditions or when the other end of the Divination spell manually activated it. The third hybrid magic was a mixture of Necromancy and Divination magic that forcibly bound the orc to this particular orb. Upon the death of the orc, the orb would most likely crumble to dust. The lag time seemed to have been a weakened strain of a fourth layer of Illusion magic that had fallen away as the orc had gotten further from him home base. Quoren could see a slight silver shimmer around the edges of the orb as the spell dissipated.
Captain Gubb called over another soldier to go and bring the quartermaster so that supplies for this mission could be discussed. A few minutes later, a slender tabaxi with reddish-brown fur strode over with a sheaf of papers bound to a wooden board. "This one is very busy, Captain Gubb. What is it that you require of me?" Her question seems to be addressed to all of you, instead of just at the captain.
[I don't know how I forgot that Quoren was casting identify. I just finished up finals, so that might still have me a bit frazzled.]
Garrik sets about searching for lumber as Tusk takes his position as guard for the other soldiers who have begun to fell the trees. Corrin, still deciding, looks on as Hugs directs the soldiers around.
[Garrik, make a Survival check to find suitable trees for lumber. Tusk, make a Perception check as you guard your fellow soldiers. In the event that Corrin wants to cut down trees, or if someone else changes their mind, make an Athletics check.]
Wraith turns to the quarter master and says, "We will be heading out to scout the nearby area for enemy locations, ma'am. We will need to requisition mounts, feed for the mounts, trail rations, tents, winter wear, rope, and climbing gear." Wraith turns to the others, "Please work quickly to secure any personal items as well. I would suggest we look at departing at first light on the morrow, unless anyone objects."
"Well we might be quieter if we proceed on foot. Do we know approximately how far the camp is? That would make the decision easier. Also, if I may, I'd like to request a longsword"
Corrin grabs an axe and goes off to gather some lumber.

I'll happily 'swing the axe'. (does that mean fighting something? If not, Tusk instead says I'll happily 'guard the workers' )
