Unable to chase down the drow across the bridge, Prince Derendil lets out a roar of rage and turns on the one still in the guard tower, slashing out at the elf with his claws.
Ferriman enters the guard tower, leaps onto a chair and levels a punch at the drow's midsection, hitting solidly and causing the drow to bend over double. With this opening, the follow up punch to the head knocks the drow out cold. The short sword clatters to the floor, the echo being drowned out by the cascading waterfall just outside.
With the drow (Balok) down, everyone else can act:
Buppido, Jimjar (ready action or attack?), Ront and the other NPC's I will control.
Jimjar sizes up the nearest spider (located at M6/M7) heaves a rock, hoping to hear it smash into the monster's exoskeleton...
Improvised ranged attack:4| Bludgeoning damage, if successful:1
Meanwhile, Tozer seizes the opportunity he's been longing for. He scrambles up the ladder into the armory. The first blade he can see, he hands down to one of his fellow prisoners. "Cut the bridge!" he barks.
Jimjar hefts the nearest stone and tries to gauge where the spiders are based on Sarith's instructions. He throws the stone and hears.... nothing. Sarith says in undercommon, "Not even close..."
Buppido sees the drow felled in the tower and proclaims, "An omen! One of our captors is vanquished! We are destined to escape. Part of the divine plan." He rushes out of the cell and dashes across the bridge into the tower.
Since trying to cross the bridge while still chained seems like a bad idea, Ront is going to wait by the stairs and ready an action to try to shove any drow that approach them back down the stairs.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ront moves a couple of steps down the stairs where there's room, and prepares for an assault from the north.
Shuushar moves next to Valthana, who cradles Stool and communicates via the telepathy, "Ware the little one. You are strong and can easily injure him."
Topsy moves next to the bridge and signals Turvy, who dashes across it and almost reaches the guard tower. In typical fashion, always together unless separated by the drow for their work details, Topsy follows Turvy onto the bridge, losing ground on Turvy.
The drow (Bemeril) escapes to the south and drops out of the initiative order. Two new drow (Imbros & Jaezred) appear from behind a door to the north and join the initiative with 9 and 8 respectively.
Sarith, Beegred, Valthana, Narstin, Eldeth, Tozer, Xilyra, Derendil, Buppido all get to act, in this order. The people in the guard tower don't need to wait for the people on the north stairs, and vice versa.
The still-shackled Sarith is not happy to be at the new northern front line. He casts Darkness at the edge of the stairs to the north, centered at O1, so that the Drow guards will have to pass through the 15' radius darkness to get to the stairs. Hopefully they will misjudge the distance and risk tripping on the stairs, or maybe even falling off the edge into the spider web. (The Faerie Fire inside the guard tower fades as concentration is redirected.)
He will move south, as far as he can. (N10, if going through the others counts as rough terrain.)
The inferior beings around him don't understand a civilized language like Elvish, so he has to act out his suggestion while also saying it in Elvish. He pantomimes picking up the disgusting pots of filth, and spreading them at the stairs around N2-O2, including acting out the Drow guards slipping.
Beegred
Beegred hustles up the ladder, and joins Tozer in the armory. "Mind your head below, near the ladder!" He is looking at what equipment he would want, and pushing the rest down for the others to grab. (Beegred is hoping to find another short sword, short bow/arrows, and/or halfling-sized armor.)

Tozer readies himself to scale the ladder but nimble Beegred scurries up the rungs before him. So, Tozer picks up the shortsword that belongs to the fallen drow and begins to hack violently at the rope bridge that leads south from the guard tower...
Shortsword attack on rope/bridge:15| Slashing damage:7
Eldeth, at the prompting from Sarith, carries the chamber pot as far down the stairs as possible, past Ront, grimaces, and sloshes the contents out on the stairs below in a sweeping arc, ensuring full lateral coverage. After she shakes the last clumps out, she gingerly holds onto the pot with tacticially placed fingertips, and watches.
Movement down the right side of the stairs to O-4, 5, or 6. (Not sure where the gate is, and much of that is difficult terrain.) Then slosh away. She'll keep the pot for a ranged weapon in the next turn.
Ferriman watches the drow fall. He stands and stares a moment, slack-jawed. "Whoa," he murmurs to himself.
He then jumps down from the chair and begins climbing the ladder. "Coming up!" he says in his shrill voice to Beegred. He turns to his left just before reaching the top. "Tozer!" he asks. "What do you fight with?"
Once he reaches the top, he quickly scans the room and gets to work, not taking too much time to be choosy.
Ferry is going to move up the ladder to the armory. Then, using what movement he has left, and a possible action and free interaction action (if he has enough movement after reaching the top), he's going to begin a hasty "shopping" spree that will last 2-5 actions, or until someone hollers it's time to leave. Details in the OOC thread.
Sarith casts Darkness on the landing at the bottom of the northern stairs and retreats. As he does so, he mimes instructions to Eldeth.
Beegred and Ferriman climb up to the armory above. The majority of the space is neatly organized with rows of identical weapons, armor and other gear. In one corner, thrown into a pile, are a variety of weapons and armor.
In the armory you will find the following drow equipment:
6 chain shirts
6 suits of studded leather armor
6 shields
6 hand crossbows
20 cases of hand crossbow bolts, each case containing 20 bolts
6 shortswords and 10 daggers
6 bags of caltrops (20 caltrops per bag)
4 100-foot-long coils of silk rope
2 building hammers (not usable as weapons)
2 bags of iron spikes (10 spikes per bag)
You will also find all your starter weapons, armor and ammo in the pile, as long as it is not magical in nature. In other words, spell casting focuses in whatever form, is not found in this armory. Shields that had emblems have had their emblems defaced/ruined. The shields are available, but they can't be used as a spell casting focus anymore.
Those in the armory may gather and lower/drop two items per turn (1 item per hand).
Tozer grabs the short sword dropped by the drow, moves to the bridge and hacks one of the two ropes securing the bridge to the guard tower.
(I will wait for Narstin before Eldeth acts)
Valthana uses the telepathy to say to whoever listens, "I can't see in this darkness! I'm useless like this."
Buppido moves to E-8 and fumbles around the downed drow's belt. He pulls out a small ring of keys and begins trying different keys in his shackles.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Unable to see the guards anymore due to Sarith's magical darkness, Narstin readies a Sacred Flame (DC13, 6) for the first guard to come through the darkness to where they can be seen again.
Derendil waits for another sword or other sharp weapon to be passed down from the armory, then helps Tozer try to cut down the bridge to the south.
Narstin prepares to blast the first guard through the darkness below with a Sacred Flame. Eldeth runs past and dumps the contents of the chamber pot on the stairs ahead of her.
I will rule it follows the same mechanics as a Grease spell:
Slick excrement covers the ground in a 10-foot square centered on a point within range and turns it into difficult terrain for the duration.
A creature that enters the area or ends its turn there must also succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone.
Ferry scans the room and sees the pile of non-drow weapons and armor, grabs two random weapons, and returns to the ladder. "Look out down there!" he says, and drops them down the hole, handle/hilt-side down. As he returns for another load, his muffled voice echoes down from above. "We need enough for everyone across the bridge! I can carry at least two!"
Beegred chooses to pass 2 short swords down through the trap door. Derendil takes them both and uses one to hack at the second rope securing the southern bridge, which falls onto the spider webbing below.
Xilyra watches the darkness intently, waiting for a foe to strike with her Eldritch Blast.
The first of the two drow below that are enveloped in darkness is unsure of the situation, but is familiar with darkness and uses it to his advantage. He leaves his post and can be heard speaking loudly in undercommon, "WAKE UP you lazy beasts! We are under assault. Get up there and fight!"
