Hurosk steps up to the deck once Ryn brings them to the surface. Hearing her news of the fate of the other ship his pulse quickens again, having left a friend on board. He paces slowly until they make sight of the Old Star, cursing himself for not staying to help defend the ship when he sees the shape it's in. Seeing Mathilda relatively safe on the deck of the other ship, relaxes and offers a thumbs-up to indicate that everyone on the ghost ship is well.
The ranger walks over to join Kyne near the captain. "So, looks like you're going to have two busted up ships now... I hope between the two we can manage a way to a port."
When they are approaching to the Old Star, Captain Keitos leaves the repairing of the wheel that he was trying to do since the refloated, and joins the others at the forward helm. Cursing with words that make even Kyne to raise an eyebrown he throws a rope towards the survivors and asks Ryn to help him maneuver the ship to allow the men to climb up to the ghsot ship.
He throws a ladder stair and slowly but steady they start to recover all the survivors from the water and start the transfer of the rest from the shinking Old Star. They eventually had everyone on board and, the most capable men takes care of salvage all that they can from their old ship, specially and with Ryn's help, the sails.
The Captain doesn't ask for details of what happened and doesn't talk too much, focused as he is on rescuing his crew. The men seems both relieved to see their captain and with a new ship!
"Well, if I wasn't seeing it I couldn't believe it Cap! " says the first mate " You actually did it again!! here you are and with a new ship of all things! Just when I thought we were going to join Old Jone's crew for good!" he pats the captain on the shoulder and he smiles but withou too much joy.
Mathilda, wet, wounded and tired rests on the deck, her back on the main mast of the ship.
"And here I was, thinking that staying at the ship would be safer that tag along with you guys.. " he smiles despite her words and tiredness. " Do you mind if I sleep during the rest of the journey? " she says to Hurosk.
With Ryn off the boat, Seb'riel takes advantage of the chance to properly inspect the body. Careful not to leave any permanent marks, she palpates the flesh, looking for vital organs. Feeling the joins between different parts and making a mental note of what she is finding. When the rest of the crew is being brought aboard, she makes herself scarce, choosing instead to go back to her books and research.
"Shallan!" Kyne calls across when he spots her unmistakable scarlet curls, leaping the gap between the ships as soon as they have drawn close enough. The elf rushes to the girl and takes her in his arms in a tight embrace.
"Are you okay? Tell me everything! I'm so sorry, I should never have left you behind."
Noticing Shallan wince as he holds her, Kyne turns her to inspect the injury.
"You're hurt. We should let Molly see it. She'll help you."
Shallan holds Kyne tight and he can feel the young woman trembling in his arms.
"They... they start jumping into the ship as soon as yours dissapeared into the fog. They came from everywhere. Mathilda and I fought together. " she seems a little bit in shock yet as if all had happened to another person "We.. we all fought but they kept coming and coming... I was so tired... until... until they suddenly leaved. I thought... I thought you were gone..."
When Kyne points to her wound she looks down to it, as if she hasn't noticed it yet.
"So... that's why I felt it a little bit numb... " she smiles but the color leaves her face when she realizes that the blood is, in fact, hers.
Despite beign almost exhausted. The tripulation of the Old Star, along with the companions, manage to salvage most of the important things to the new ship or tie it and leave it floating at the side of the new ship.
The subtle use of Ryn's powers make it more easier than it should have been, but no mariner complains about the sudden calm and even conducive currents that help them to get to safety.
The crew stare silently and solemnly as their old ship finally sinks and dissapear under the waters of the lake. One of the crew members that had managed to, somehow, save his violin, starts to play a sad song to say goodbye to their old ship. The captain sighs deeply when it finally goes under the water.
When all are resting are resting and catching their breath, Ryn goes to the cargo hold and takes care of her sister's corpse, she informs you that she will bury her as soon as they get to the ocean.
When the sun sets, the crew somehow comes back to life and start getting the new ship ready to sail. They focus on repairing the broken wheel and they put the ragged sails of the Old Star to the mast of the new ship. After the dreadful trip in the fog, the fight underwater and the sadness of the salvage operation, the new porpouse seems to give both the captain and the crew new energies. Hursok even see Captain Keitos smiling here and there as the ship turns more and more into a functional vessel.
After working all night, the Captain lets the whole crew to rest for the next day and night and, at the second day after their fight, and when everyone feels more rested the captain says to all his crew. He has something big covered under a blanket in front of the crew, in the main deck, while he adresses them from the aft helm.
"Well lads, this is going to be the wierdest christening of a ship I've ever seen... but... let's face it, not the wierdest thing we have done!! I am proud of you gentelmen. You all have conducted bravely and your dads should be proud of you, even if your moms still feel embarrashed! " the crew laughs and he continues, talking more solemnly " We have lost brothers in this ordeal, and we honor them. " for some reason everyone has a cup, or tankard, or mug on their hands and someone puts one into the party's hands and fills it with some kind of liquor.
"For the friends we've lost. May the currents be gently and warm to you..." he raises his tankard and all the crew does the same. They all drink and empty their cups. "And for the Old Star!! She took good care of us!! " the recipients are refilled fast and they all drink again.
"But!! " the tone and demeneaor of the Captain have changed. It seems that he has recovered some of the bravado attitude " Fortune favors the bold and the persistent. We have sailed, we have fought and we have survived! I say... that we deserve some kind of retribution!! "
The crew nods and some "Aye!" "You'r right captain!" can be heard among them.
"Well gentlemen, please unveil what you got there if you are so kind mister Furloch... " one of the sailors pulls the blanket and four chest are revealed. Each of them containig silver and coins. The crew gasps. " You are in luck, for your captain have discovered this on his quarters. And Captain Keitos is a generous one and share all with his crew members. Please gentlemen, be so kind to count it and divide it evenly among you."
The crew cheers and laughs and proceed, after a few screams and punchs from the big half-orc cooker, to obey their captain.
Keitos approaches the party and smiles.
"Well... That will keep them busy and happy for quite a time, don't you think my friends? " now that he has come closer they say that he has eyebags, as if he hasn't sleep in all night. "I've already counted it.. and have your share at my quarters. They would have accepted that you had you part too" he says refering to the crew " but it's easier and better this way don't you think? " he winks to them. "Should we?"
Kyne nods and continues to hold Shallan close, soothing the poor girl until she is calm enough to bring before Moltaris.
"Thank you, captain," Kyne replies with a grin, when Keitos offers them their share of the coin. "How much did you find? Are we still bound for Passage?"
While the party check the loot that the captain is sharing with them he raises an eyebrow at Kyne’s question.
”Well that was your destination, wasn’t it?. We will crops back to the ocean and head to their home “he says referring to the mermaids “after that. Any change of heart?”
Hurosk gives Mathilda a weak smile. "Looks like you managed to well enough though. Plenty of dead fish-folk floating around out there." He extends a hand to assist her to her feet. "Yeah, we'll try to let you rest. Let's see if we can find you a quiet cabin somewhere." The half-orc leads his friend below deck to one of the cabins and helps get her situated. He calls upon the spirits of his clan to help mend Mathilda's wounds, assisting her in finding her sleep after the day's events. He then heads back above deck to keep a watchful eye from the crow's nest until his own exhaustion overtakes him and falls asleep.
Days later in captain's quarters... Hurosk whistles as his eye pass over the treasure. "Well that's quite the prize! Maybe you did end up trading up when you decided step on this ship,"he says to the captain. He digs through a chest to find a set of leather bracers embossed with arrows and with silver studs going around the ends. "Now these look nice..!"
“Enjoy them” says the Captain to Hurosk with a smile before turning to Kyle
”Well have you heard the call of the waves? Hehe. If you want to come along all that way I think I could find a use or two for you lot. Believe me, after one week doing nothing on a ship you will beg me for something to do so why lose time? You have a few days to think about it before we reach our first destination.”
Kyne smiles thoughtfully, before returning to their gifts and inspecting the fine suit of light armour found amongst it. The inside of the leather feels light and flexible like deerskin, but the outside is firm to the touch and studded with dull metal knobs. A welcome upgrade compared to his own well worn armour. Claiming it from the pile, the elf heads to his cabin to change.
Seb'riel casts a cursory glance over the treasure but makes no move to take anything. Instead she sits quietly listening to the conversation at first but then drifting off into her own thoughts, eyes staring off into the distance. Eventually she speaks.
"It would be better to be off the boat sooner. We have research to do."
Lyreis stands back from the group, his noble elven features strained as he wrestles with his thoughts. Turning his back from his companions he moved towards Ryn, pausing and then continuing until he is close to her, near the entrance to the cargo hold.
"Milady, I fear I have been a fool to offer my services to you, I proved a poor bodyguard in our most recent battle and clearly when you arrive at your home you will have no need for an out of favour Valenar warlord. I will, with your permission, continue with my friends as we find the path the fates set us. I have been a poor companion recently and my blades may be needed in the times ahead. I hope you will understand." He bows, showing all his grace, and courtly knowledge before withdrawing to the other side of the ship, seeking his own company for the time being.

"You have been more than a fine protector " she puts a hand on his right arm and make him turn puttin his hands inside hers " and a friend. Perhaps our paths will cross again. Until then take this as a token of my friendship." the elf sees that there is a pendant made of single tear of red coral in the palm of his hand.
" I wish you the bests of lucks in your journeys Lyreis Eldramar " she says when he walks away. She tends to keep to herself from that point on, barely seen by the party or the crew. It's true that she might be using her powers, wich seems to have increased since the encounter with her sister, for the ship moves at an unnatural speed towards their destination.
It doesn't escape Seb's attention that most of the crew doesn't seem surprised by that. Once that they know what really Ryn is, it seems natural for them this kind of magic. It is safe to assume that her sister used to help them like this in the past when she was with the captain.
They make the week long journey in just two days and a half, and when they begin to approach the coast and the more frequent routes of trade Ryn ceases to use her powers, not to arise suspicions.
At the end of the third day with the sun setting at her backs and the waters of the lake in calm they reach the port city of Passage, finishing that way the first leg of their journey.
They see the properties of the wealthy along the coast, the mansions illuminated by the magic lamps. Many of them had large fileds of vines across the low hills that conforms the landscape. The city itself, beign the second larger city of the realm of Aundair, is bursting with activity despite the ending of the day. Lamps are lit everywhere, both magical and oil fueled, and the city adquires a beautiful view, with not only the streets, but the main buildings lighted.
They can see the main tower of the skyport with at least three of the fabled Lyrandar skyships docked, and a fourth departing into the night air. And they can see the elevated railorad of the lightining train of house Orien.
Music can be heard even as the ships makes its final approach and Captain Keitos barks orders to the crew. When the ship is finally docked Captain Keitos goes down from the main castle and join them at the deck.
"Well, this is where we part ways for now. If you have second thoughts and want to come along we will be here about a week, to resupply, steam-off and get the ship ready to cross the canal. Be safe friends, and thanks again for your help."
He shakes everyone's hand and goes to finish the docking procedure. Then the hal-orc cooker came in.
" Here ! he says producing a small box of wood "I learnt the recipie from a halfling of House Gallhanda in Sharn.Hope you like it" Hurosk smiles remembering how the cooker was yelling and almost hitting the crew members when they transfered the magical container where he stores his priced ingredients from the shinking ship to the new one, The heavy furniture almost got two sailors drowned until Seb´riel casted the floating magic disk.
"I recommend you the War Boar " he says " they have a decent kitchen and good rooms. Try not to get killed outthere uh?" he smiles and waves them goodbye.
Smiling at the hand of his friend on his shoulder Lyreis moves with all his natural grace as they head off. "I do not think I wish to share unless I have to, that ship forced a certain familiarity that I could happily leave behind."
The scimitars bounce gently against his back as he walks, their sheath secure but loose, always ready for access when in unfamiliar places. The daggers at hip and thigh are both checked, and satisfied the blade master continues. Absently he runs his long, calloused fingers overthe leather cord around his neck where it touches a pendant of red coral. A different smile, a little wistful maybe, flickers across his handsome features. "Who knows, maybe one day.." he whispers to himself before lapsing into a comfortable silence as they walk.

Moltaris stays mostly to herself over the days of travel, stroking the lock of hair she collected and pondering the next hunt. She didn't like being away from home, where her people were being preyed upon, but learning the ways of the outside world and gathering allies who hated cruel and oppressive monsters would hopefully be worth being away from the war.
"I've missed walking on a surface that isn't constantly swaying!" the black-clad priestess replies with a rare smile. "I'll go with you anywhere as long as we don't have to get on another boat for a while." Shield strapped to her back and rucksack dangling from her off-hand, she looks for all the world like a scruffy roaming squire boy looking for work.

Hurosk says his goodbyes to Mathilda before departing. Scooping up the woman, he gives her a great bear hug. "Keep those fingers out of the wrong pockets and stay away from vampires for awhile."He slugs her on the shoulder like a big brother might. "Be safe, huh?" he offers before stepping off the boat.
The ranger is met with a feeling of awe in these new surroundings. One wouldn't blame him for the half-orc has spent most of his years roaming the harsher lands of the Shadow Marshes and Droaam. He finally has images to place with all the stories he heard of the lightening rail. He follows behind the others on the way to the suggested tavern. "Are we going to be needing to take one of those," he asks, craning his neck to get a good look of a skyship docked above. "Not sure if I'm quite ready for something like that considering how our trip over the water went,"he punctuates the statement with a nervous laugh.

I'm not looking for heaven or hell... just someone to listen to stories I tell...
Hurosk says his goodbyes to Mathilda before departing. Scooping up the woman, he gives her a great bear hug. "Keep those fingers out of the wrong pockets and stay away from vampires for awhile." He slugs her on the shoulder like a big brother might.
"Not sure if I'm quite ready for something like that considering how our trip over the water went," he punctuates the statement with a nervous laugh.
