Mathilda climbs back down to avoid the smoke and immediately readies her bow. She moves towards the door, making sure she keeps her small frame out of sight behind the experienced fighters. The smoke is thick and she tries to fire an arrow at the closest thug, but hears it hitting the wooden wall inside.
As the smoke begins to fill the room, Hurosk can make out shapes of the occupants inside, one apparently going for the window. He immediately draws an arrow and waits for them to open the window in an attempt to clear some of the smoke and provide him with a more clear shot. The ranger slides over to take an angle on the shot that would send any errant arrows to the back of the house, so as not to hit any of his companions entering from the front.
(Ready longbow attack for when the window is opened by a thug.)
Seeing the smoke start to clear Lyreis begins his advance, gliding past Kyne and on into the room, the smoke doesn't help but he knows his adversary has to deal with the same. As it always does somehow despite the smoke his weapon gleams in the flickers of light as it dances towards his target as the battlemaster launches a flurry of attacks from different angles, trying to confuse his enemy by using the smoke to help him.
As the smoke starts to pour out the broken door, Kyne casts his magic and send three fire rays towards the figure that was trying to reach the door.
The three impact on the figure wich screams in pain and surprise and fall to one knee, trying to recover from the sudden attack. It ducks behind what it seems to be a table, trying to get some cover from the attackers, but before he can reach it the spell of Moltaris hits him in the right side and you hear his body hitting the ground behind the table. He groans in pain and curse to the Gods from the pain of his injuries.
The other one runs towards the window, trying to open it.
Mathilda jumps dow to the front door, a couple of roof tiles drop off when she walked over it, but she manages to keep her balance and jump making an arc in the air to be right behind the elves. She fires his bow, trying to reach the figure, but her arrow is lost in the smoke.
Lyreis enters the house and jumps over the table to find a man trying to get up, his first attack follows him, but the man ducks below the table and the razor blade of the scimitar hits the wood, nearly cutting it in half. Using the momemtum of the sword, the elf spins using one of his legs to do it and with the other kicks the table away, givin him a clear path to slash the man twice, one in the right leg and the other one crosses his back as he was trying to get up. The man stumbles towards the wall, and unseathes a longsword, spits blood and motions Lyreis to come closer.
Kyne hears Hurosk's arrow thump into the side of the house and spots the second man trying to escape. He rushes into the room and lashes out with his free hand, sending a rope of lightning arcing across the room to wrap around his foe's arm. It tugs at the man, pulling him towards Kyne, but he resists.
Frustratred, Kyne gathers fire energy between his hands once more and sends another three streams shooting across the room into his enemy's back.
The elf moves into the smoke and sees the figure of one man breaking the window to get some of the smoke out, or to flee, he is not sure.
Hurosk was expecting the window to open, but he wasn't expecting a stool coming flying out and breaking it! That makes his aim fail and his arrow flies to get stuck in the frame of the now broken window.
Kyne tries to grab the man with his lighting magic, but the man, feeling the pull on his arm, fights back, pulling even harder in the oposite direction and breaks the lighting, wich disipates in a shower of sparkles. But the sorcerer calls upon his inner energies once more and three rays of fire crosses the room enveloping the man wich screams of pain.
Now that the entrance is clear, and the smoke is starting to clear a little bit thanks to the open door and broken window, she gets ready to act.
Moltaris touches her holy symbol again and the ghostly, skeletal hand reaches again for the man's throat.
He tries to fight against it but to no avail. His hands passes throught the skeletal hand as if it wasn't there, but the bony fingers squeezed his trhoat slowly reaping the life out of him. He looked desperately towards Kyne, imploring help, just before his eyes rolled back and he fell to the floor. Motionless.
Mathilda looks in horror how the man dies but there is still another...
An icy chill creeps over Mathilda as she watches Molatris' magic squeeze the life out of the man. He might have been a bandit or worse, but she has not seen many people die during her travels, especially by magic. Without thinking, she dashes inside and quietly runs up behind the second thug who is facing the window. She draws her dagger and holds the cold metal to his throat, keeping a small distance between their bodies as to not give away her small stature. "Don't move. See that archer out there? It would be very foolish to count on both of us missing you. Answer our questions and you may get out of here alive."
The man, a young man with his cheeks full of little marks, like small craters raises his hands and kneels
"I.. I surrender... please do not kill me" he cries " Take.. take what you want... we... don´t have much... we are just hunters... "
The smoke begins to clear and they all can see better the interior of the house.
There are several hunting trophies hanging in the walls. Deers, boars, a rabbit and a racoon disecated over the fireplace and on top of that the head of a huge grizzly bear, which pelt, you can guess is dominating the floor of the lodge. There are even a couple of big barbels hanign on wooden plates on the wall of the right side of the room. There is a closed door in that wall.
They can see some barrels and crates with wich seems to be supplies, dried meat, skins to fill with water, a couple of tents.
In the fireplace, partially fallen into the fire below, there is a metal grill with now charred and ruined bacon on it.
Lyreis doesn't wait for the answers, he moves past the corpse heads to where he thinks is a staircase over in the corner near him, charging recklessly ahead, scimitar at the ready. He calls out "his friend wasn't a pushover don't be duped by this one." as he investigates the rest of the building.

The man sobs and gasps as he raises even higher his hands
"Who? Redgar and Zechry? They are friends of us... they come to hunt from time to time... they... they were going back home I think... Red what?! I don't know.. I don't know... oh Gods... you killed Trimmar... please don't kill me I will not say a word... "
Meanwhile Lyreis finds a set of narrow stairs that goes to a second floor. He runs upstairs and find just an attic with seven beds and two small windows. There are crude curtains hanging between the beds to give some kind of privacy. There are some spare, dirty clothes in two of the beds, and four of them seems to had been used recently.
He turns back to the captured 'hunter' and presses his blade slightly firmer against his chest, though not enough to injure.
"If you are lying to me, I will find you and I will kill you," he lowers his sword and discreetly winks at Mathilda, leaving the man in her capable hands.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lyreis walks back down the stairs, concerned about his findings. "Beds show four have been sleeping here, doesn't seem anything else except some dirty clothes." He moves about the room looking for signs of anything out of place, all the while speaking in elvish to Kyne "Did he have anything g to say? Have we been played by that half-orc? We need some answers and we need them soon. Can you tell if magic is being used here?"

Now that the smoke has cleared, Mathilda takes in her surroundings. An ordinary hunter's lodge, it seems... As the man frets and proclaims his innocence, she gets increasingly uncomfortable. Did they just... did WE just kill an innocent man? But why did the other guy send us here? Kyne's smile barely assures her that this man at least will be safe if he is telling the truth, though she cannot understand what the other elf said to him as he comes back downstairs. She examines the man's face closely, trying to decide if she can safely lower her blade. "If you are ordinary hunters... why did you set up trip wires outside?"
"Ha!" Kyne exclaims, raising his sword at the man once more, clearly pleased with Mathilda's conclusion. He has 'got you there!' written all over his face.
"Nothing useful yet," Kyne replies as Lyreis appears from upstairs. He nods in acknowledgement and glances about breathing deeply and opening his senses to any surrounding arcane energies.
When Kyne leaves the prisioner with Mathilda she is looking into the man eyes. For a fraction of a second, he looks at Kyne's back with hate, but it metls away as fast as it came to the surface as the young man turns to her imploring again for his life.
Mathilda thinks that it would be normal to show some regret but... the way he hide it... how he controlled it... that made all her inner alarms to ring.
As the two elves talk among themselves in their language, Mathilda can see that the man is understanding them. That alone wouldn't be a problem but... the shadow of a smile flickers in his lips just before she talks to him again.
He turns to her and she sees that he sttamers
"Th.. the.. wires? what.. did you?... so that's wh... oh! YES!.. YES!... we use them to know if a deer or a racoon or other animals come closer to the lodge... the smell of the carcass we used to dry outside attracts many animals..."
It sounds logic but Mathilda has the feeling that he is just reciting something learned by heart.
Meanwhile Kyne closes his eyes and tries to concentrate and see if there is some magic residue in the house. He can't really tell... there is.. something.. not were they are but near... just a faint shadow of energy lingering nearby, but he can't really put his finger on it.
Lyreis takes a step back giving Kyne some space to do his thing, and then he felt it. It is a slight breeze on his back.. he looks around, to the last remaining fumes of the smoke and he sees that they swirl behind him, looking to the open door that he had left behind it seems that some kind of light current of air comes from it, althought he hasn't seen any open window neither in the stairs neither in the attic. And the smoke should be going up the stairs... not away from them...
"I don't think we need our new friend anymore" Lyreis calmly states in Elvish. The shift in grip on his double-bladed scimitar is subtle, only a well trained blade master would see it for what it is but he is ready to strike at a moments notice. "There is something to investigate by the stairs, let's call Hurosk in, I think its better to stay together."

Hurosk casually makes his way to the front door and, considering the others seem to have the situation well under control, leans on the frame picking something under his nails as the others question the surviving 'hunter'. The ranger chuckles and raises an eyebrow in understanding at Lyreis' comment regarding this man's fate. "I'm here," he states plainly. "Are we done playing with this mouse?"
Kyne turns slowly on the spot, his eyes closed now and his sword arm down as he feels for the ebb and flow of the elemental energies that permeate the weave.
There.
Air. The source of his lightning. His second strongest affinity after the fire that courses through his veins. He can feel the eddies that create the unnatural upward draft. He opens his eyes and he follows, searching for the source.
