"We don't need to go anywhere," Kyne counters. "That's just their closest neighbour. They have no idea they are under attack and no reason to return with more men. We're safe here for now and then we can ambush them when they come home."
He flips the ring in the air and slips it on for safekeeping.
Hurosk scratches his head. "Hmm...We didn't leave that place as we found it. I think they'll know something is up when they find their man has got out of town."
The half-orc stands at Resken's unease at the dead body. He says to the man, "Why don't we go outside? Seems like a nice enough evening for a little walk."
"They won't stay closed without some needle and thread..." the kalashtar murmurs towards the prisoner. "His eyes, that is. Close them all we want; they'll just pop right back open unless they're sewn shut. The eyes of the dead see forevermore," she intones gravely. She makes eye contact with Mathilda, though, and there's a twinkle in her eye to show her allies that she's making a jest - albeit a creepy one - at the expense of their guest, the spellcaster's helper.

Mathilda looks up as Hurosk takes their prisoner away, probably for more questioning. She shivers slightly when Moltaris starts talking about the dead, but is reassured when she sees that it is only a joke. Still, the image of the dead caster staring blankly ahead is not something she wants to linger on. Before Molatris can answer Kyne's questions, she blurts out: "We need to bury him! In the earth or by fire, I don't think it matters, but we can't just leave his body. What if he..." she gulps, "what if his spirit comes back to haunt us otherwise?" She looks at Molly, who she assumes would know all about angry spirits.
"If we're staying here, I think we should try and make it look like nothing has changed and camp out of sight, behind the house or in the woods, while someone watches the lake to see when the boat returns."
"I will make sure Hurosk is safe, you never know, our new friend could decide to do something stupid". Lyreis moves off after them, keeping a reasonable distance back, longbow in hand keeping a look out over the lake as he goes.

Molly eyes Hurosk carefully as he and the prisoner pass.
Kyne nods subtly at Hurosk. He thinks he understands what the half-orc has in mind.
"Shall I take Voren's body out back and burn it, or do we still need it for anything?" He asks Moltaris.
"Let's burn it or -- better yet -- tie some rocks to it and sink it in the lake? We don't need the attention that a smoky roasted wizard might provide..."

Molly stands, looking drained and hollow-eyed but fierce nonetheless as he watches Hurosk and Lyreis and Resken start to move off. "What has this man done to deserve the Good Death we deliver?"

"Yeah, well... I'm not so sure it's going to be good," Hurosk says to Molly on his way out the door - his tone clear that he is truly undecided.
The half-orc leads the man away from the house along the edge of the lake. "Just trying to figure out if I should make good on my promise of a quick death. It took some convincing to finally get some straight answers from you." He pulls on the man's binding to get him to stop. "So how about it? One last chance... Give me something good about the one on the island that you've been working."
"And you blame me? You attacked us, killed my friend... and I am no rat. I wouldn't give my comrades and family to the first thug that threaten me. " he spits to the ground a mix of blood and dark salivae. " I am no rat. And you don't know what are you up against. I've seen make some serious shit to that woman. Does she worth dying for? no way, for my friends? yes. "he stands tall and look to Hurosk in the eye. "Besides I gave you all that I got. I've never been in her island, and I only know what I've told you. Voren came to us and promised us gold if we work for them. Some days later she came with him and I've seen her use magical powers. Nothing more. Let me wait for my friends at the dock. I'll talk to them and we will leave. I do not know if you want our operation, or stop it, and I don't care. We can make money somewhere else."
"So that's your plan? To leave here and find another slimy patron, set up shop somewhere else, doing the same kind of work? What's next? What will you sell when you can't find another Red Dream?"

"Blame you?! You and your crew have been poisoning this town. Did you not think someone would want that stopped? And, we're not going to have you move on to the next place." Hurosk kicks the man in the back of the knees to bring him to the ground.
"Poisoning? What are you talking about? The Red Dream only gives pleasure and energy to those who use it. It's adictive? well... who pleasure isn't? We aren't forcing anyone to use it at sword point, and we do not steal anyone. We even sell it half the price the other drug used to be, so we aren't even greed." He seems confused and a little bit overwhelmed by the sudden burst of questions, the pain of his wounds make him a little dizzy " Well, I.. I do not know.. caravan guards, hunters "he srughs " whatever... "
He turns to Lyreis
" She is fair, looks like an elf, pale, green eyes... long, black hair, pretty and sexy if you ask me, but you can feel the danger in her movements and look. Like if she could eat you alive if she wanted. Not worth the risk. And for the magic... I do not know... like... magic? "
Hurosk looks back to Lyreis as he draws his scimitar. Having received a nod from the elf. He looks back to man, "We seem to be talking in circles now. Thank you for all the information." He brings his sword across aiming to quickly decapitate the man.
With a swift noise the scimitar cuts the air. The head falls to the ground with a muffled "Thud" and the body falls to the ground, spiling blood from its neck.
An hour passes and preparations are made. The lookout of the party sees the boat coming back with the two that left the lodge some hours before.
The party see both of them rowing towards the small dock, not really chatting but not in a particular hurry either. They reach it and disembark. The one with a mace jumps to the dock and tie the boat. The other one passes him the shield and the leather backpack he carried when they left and disembark too. They both walk towards the house. Then the one carrying the greatsword, now in his right hand, grabbing it from the scarbard, start to realize that something is wrong. The door is no more.
The hidden party knows that the moment to attack is now or never.
Mathilda had been hiding behind a few bushes near the house and readies her bow when she hears the boat approaching. Nervously, she waits for the right moment. When the two men to disembark, she fires an arrow at the man without the shield. Quickly, she runs to the next bush closer to the lake, hoping to conceal her location from them and get to the boat in case they should try and retreat. We need that boat!

"Come on in," Hurosk says from inside. "I think we still have some dragonmallows," he continues munching on one of the sticky treats. He applies his target to the man with the greatsword and fires off two quick shots. He disappears back inside the cabin, retreating to near the broken window.
Seeing arrows from Hurosk strike the greatsword-wielding thug Lyreis attempts to finish him off. Remembering his days in the warband keenly for a moment he draws and fires, draws and fires seemingly without aiming but decades of muscle memory and the innate grace of his people make it look easy as he sends a pair of arrows streaking at his target, both sinking deep into the man. Reaching for another arrow in readiness for another shot he cannot hide a small smile at the satisfaction of a pair of such accurate strikes.
From his hiding place in the bushes Kyne calls forth a stream of gushing flame from his burning hands. It washes over both men!
(Both must make DC 15 dexterity saves, at disadvantage due to surprise. If they succeed, they take 6 fire damage, if they fail they take 13 fire damage.)
