The laugh of the woman is, somehow, intoxicating for Mathilda, who breathes seeing that she was probably joking.
"Where did you find this adorable creature boys? "he says to Kyne and Lyreis " I would pay you double the... moss just to keep you near dear. And believe me, you really want to have me near. " she winks at Mathilda who, for some reason, blushes a little bit.
"But now, seriously. Who sent you? Why did you killed my servants? "
"It's true that somebody sent us, but I want more information before I decide anything. I'm not entirely opposed to a deal, but I want to know what I'm getting into, and who I'm dealing with."
Mathilda finds the woman's voice strangely alluring, but she is too frightened by her strangeness to feel anything less than guarded. Staying behind Lyreis, she is relieved when Kyne takes over the talking. Whatever is going on with this lady, she seems suspicious to say the least. I don't trust her... she is probably some kind of magic. With a sideway glance at Molatris, Mathilda corrects, the bad kind, not the good kind, I think. She listens carefully but keeps her thoughts guarded, her hand hovering near her dagger.
"Who and what? Oh dear... " she looks with pity to Kyne " My intuition tells me that you weren't so picky when he approached you and offered the job, weren't you? So that means that you do not trust me "she puts a hand on her chest, in a very calculated move and gasp " Oh my.. now you are hurting my feelings... why don't you trust me? Have I did anything to earn your mistrust? I could have killed you all in your sleep. But here I am, talking to you, offering riches beyond your wildest dreams, and what do I recieve? mistrust and arrows pointing at me."She looks hurt, and really dissapointed. "Perhaps you aren't as smart as I thought. Perhaps you just won this battle by pure brute force. Mortals... Maybe you don't worth the time. "
The coldness in her look fires all the alarms in the party's minds.
Despite her lack of experience with magical creatures, Mathilda is alerted by the woman calling them mortals. Things begin to click into place and she remembers what the thugs were saying about their mistress. With a tense expression, she asks the others: "She calls us mortals, she said we'd be her dinner, her thugs said she was powerful - what is this woman?" Unwillingly, Mathilda takes several steps back.
Moltaris stops when Kyne calls for her to hold. After listening to the exchanges, she replies, "Offered riches always come with strings. What are yours?"

"I've learned not to trust anyone unless they give me reason to. How about a name, for a start? It's more than he gave me. I don't like being kept in the dark. Give me a reason to choose you over him."
“I expect loyalty dear “ replies the woman to Molly “ As long as I keep my part of the deal of course. I expect you to keep our business in private between us. If you ever decide to leave I expect this point to be kept at all times. One cannot rule business with a lot of people coming around and making a mess every week as you just did. You will be responsible for the day to day matters of the operation. That was Voren’s duty” she looks towards the house and clicks her tongue “ we will have to deal with that. I think that the cost of his resurrection must come from your share, but I am generous so I will cover half that expenses. “
she replies to Kyne
“You can call me Morlainne, Miss Morlainne or Mistress or Mylady” she adds with the tone and posture of those used to be obeyed.
"Lady Morlainne," Kyne replies with a nod, lowering Firambar. "Why go to all the trouble of resurrecting Voren, when he could just as easily serve in undeath? His work served your purposes, but it was clumsy. Perhaps we could discuss improvements in a more comfortable setting than out here?"
” Indeed but Voren was an alchemist we will need that skills soon enough. Should I assume then that you are willing to join under my banner? That’s delightful dear. What about you? “ she asks to the rest of the party
Molly smiles wanly and without mirth. "No - I promised Voren that he would rest in peace once we were done. We set him free. And we did not come here to become monsters spewing poison into the lives of fools."

When the woman looks back to him, Hurosk adjusts his aim to between her eyes. He just glares back and slowly shakes his head. "I thank you for possibly confirming my suspicion about our employer... If he this Dauberos."
"I agree with the cleric, the dead should stay dead, especially the ones who throw fireballs at me." Lyreis moves again a little, a little closer again to the woman. "But then I did tell you I've been called righteous before."

All the tension releases when Hursok and Moltaris spring into action against the creepy, otherworldly woman. Mathilda, who had already been stepping backwards, dashes around the corner of the house and hides. She draws her bow, but it takes every ounce of courage she has not to simply run for the hills. Peaking around the corner, she fires an arrow at the mysterious woman. Silently, she prays that they will make it out of this without becoming her "dinner".

The woman turns as fast as a viper, and snatchs the arrow of Hurosk before it can hit her.
She smiles at him but then the half-orc fires another arrow, wich caught her off-guard and the arrow sticks in her shoulder. She looks at it with incredulity and then back to Hurosk.
"You are going to ruin my dress!" she exclaims as she takes out the arrow as if it just a nuisance. No blood cames out of the wound.
Lyreis blinks and she is not there anymore. Instead she has moved with inhuman speed next to Kyne, and puts her arms around his chest.
" Are you going to allow them treat me like this? "
Kyne's voices sounds distorted, trobuled.
"...No..."
Mathilda's arrow flies true, getting her in her left side. But she just look at her with pity, with the blink of an eye she is just in front of Mathilda, looming above her.
"Oh dear " she says " you are going to repent that..."
Her sentence is cutted in half by the sudden radiant light that came from Moltaris holy symbol.
For the very first time she screams and her flesh seems to burn where the light touches it. A pair of fangs extends in her mandible and she hisses back to Moltaris. Ignoring Mathilda she moves once again with unnatural speed and she jumps over the cleric.
After Hurosk attack she uses one legendary action to move. After Mathilda's she uses another, and after the radiant attack of Moltaris a third one. Then she makes her turn, attacking Molly:
Grabbing her with unnatural force, she bites Moltaris in the neck. The cleric feels that not only her blood came out of the piercing wound of the fangs, but her very own life force. Inmediatly the burns and wounds from the holy light heal and dissapear as if they had never existed.
"No, Kyne, Moltaris!" Lyreis almost freezes as the horror unfolds, Kyne's possession is unnerving but the brutality of the attack on Moltaris nearly overwhelms him. But a lifetime of living on his reactions saves him, letting the scimitars rest in his offhand for a moment he draws his whip, the leather old and supple and cracks it in Kyne's face trying to avoid taking him in the eye but needing to make him come to his senses. Unsure if it has made a difference but determined to protect the diminutive cleric he let's the whip fall from hix hand as he surges forward striking like lightning against the vampires lithe form.
The first strike is the most powerful piercing her side, the magical blade sinking deep enough to make her relax her grip slightly on Moltaris, again with no time to see if he has done his job he smashes twice more, the first slash ripping across her thigh and the final hit a glancing blow at her neck, the battlemaster knowing it would still have been enough to end a mortal foe has to settle for a small smile of satisfaction at marring her unnatural beauty. "Give everything, she will not tire, and she will not weaken before the end. Strike now!"

"Oh, hells! A vampire!" Hurosk stammers a little seeing the fangs come out and woman quickly dashing across the forest floor."That was not expected..."
The ranger quickly steels himself. "Just another monster not wanting to go quietly it seems... Typical day." He moves to the door of the cabin and notices Kyne acting somewhat unusual - or maybe not given his apparent predilection for pretty women. He shakes his head and fires off another two arrows at the vampire. The first one sails wide, but the second finds its mark, burying itself in the lower back of the deadly woman. With Molly obviously swaying after taking a ferocious bite, Hurosk calls upon the spirits of the woods to provide the cleric with some relief of her wounds. With a few words in orcish, a healing spirit appears around the Molly.
Finally, before retreating to just inside the cabin, the half-orcs shouts to the vampire."Since we have removed the previous occupants, I am claiming this building for myself! Possession being nine-tenths and all."
Mathilda forgets how to breathe when the vampire suddenly stands in front of her. She cannot scream, she cannot move. Then, she blinks, the vampire is gone and Moltaris screams. Forcing air back into her lungs, Mathilda breathes in and stares in shock as the vampire attacks Moltaris. Frozen, she watches Lyreis charge forward to help the cleric. His bravery helps Mathilda to work through her fear and she focuses on the fight, no matter how much she wants to just turn around and run into the forest. She was nice to you, you cannot let that monster have her. We need to help her, focus, focus! She steps back into the shadows while the vampire's attention is focused on Moltaris and Lyreis and carefully aims her next arrow for the vampire's arm, hoping to loosen her hold on Moltaris.
