After checking the papers the guard nods and moves his head to indicate them to follow him.
The approach the huge archway lined with gold. A host of statues sits above the arch, all with welcoming faces and kind eyes, posed as if inviting the people to come inside. For some reason Moltaris find their expressions weird and creepy and she cringes as they pass under them, crossing the iron gate.
They cross a huge hall and enter a normal sized room with a red curtain in the wall they face when they enter. The guard stays at the door and their shy guide walks towards the curtain and, bowing says.
"Please step inside. They are waiting for you."
She opens the curtain and they proceed to enter the next room.
Upon entering, you find yourself facing a person kneeling in the center of a brightly lit chamber with no other exits. You and he are the only people in the room, despite you stepping through the curtain with Shallan grabbing your arm.
The stranger is dressed in an emerald robe with gold trim. His skin is gray, and his eyes are pure white.
He dabs a small brush into a pot of ink, then begins to paint words across a scroll to his right.
With a wave of his left hand, the fabric of the world shatters and coalesces into a translucent, crystalline bottle of wine and a pair of cups. “Welcome, Honored Guest. My name is Ilir. Would you like some wine?”He pours a steaming liquid from the pot and fills both cups. “Please, sit with me. I do hope we can get to know each other.”
Hurosk:

“Welcome, Honored Guest. My name is Ilir. I must say that I am quite impressed by your presence and I must apologice for I am not sure what to offer you. I ask for you forgiveness Would you like some tea?” With a wave of his left hand, the fabric of the world shatters and coalesces into a translucent, crystalline teapot and a pair of cups one of them tiny enough to be comfortable for her. “Please, sit with me. I do hope we can get to know each other.”

Seeing that he somehow lost the rest of his companions, Hurosk immediately turns on his heel to go back through the curtain but is soon met with a blank wall. He gives it a few probing taps and grunts.
"That's a neat trick," the half-orc says, turning back to the seated figure. "So, let's get this over with I guess." He snatches the mug out of the air and takes a heavy drink. "What do you want to know?" The thumb of his other hand subtly strokes the edge of the invisible ring he wears as awaits Illir's questions.
"I don't think I like this place too much,"he says in his mind to the ring's resident.
Illir waits until the half-orc finish the inspection of the wall behind him and merely smiles to his words. He serves Hurosk a little bit more of the beer and takes a sip from his.
"Just a little chat. We do not have the opportunity to parlay with people like you very often and we are curious. Tell me. What is your role in the expedition?"
"I would say that I do not like it at all either."hears Hurosk in his mind "Somehow I feel like we are trapped in a viper's pit. And I do not feel nothing...No.. seriously I can feel something slithering around me..."
Now that he says so Hurosk also feel something, like a little itch at the back of his head, a subtle but still unsettling caress in the borders of his consciousness.
Moltaris bows low and waits until invited to sit, cross-legged, on the floor. One of her hands rubs the surface of the floor, trying desperately to cling to reality in this otherworldly room. "Thank you, Honored Ilir," she murmurs as she accepts the tea and sips politely. "I am certain there is little in my humble person to interest such a wise one as yourself."

"Hmmm, interesting. So. You find these bunch of strangers, join them some weeks ago and decided to follow them to another continent in search of something that you don't really know, or care about. You have to excuse me, but this is really alien to us. We are just trying to understand. Why are you driven to join this expedition? How well did you know this woman, Sen'riel?
