Ian will take up the rear of the marching order, and HDP will secure himself somewhere in the middle. Ian will watch their "six", so to speak, and HDP will keep an eye out around them as they walk. As they walk, HDP cant seem to help himself, and begins to whistle a little tune, but someone in the party likely gives him a nasty look since they are moving through goblin and orc territory, and so he quickly stops his music making.
The party leaves the ruins of Conyberry, hiding the wagon within the hollowed-out shell of some kind of building that has plenty of scrub growing up through what used to be the stone floor. Gruxx leads the party into the low hills, his internal compass set in a southeastern direction. For several hours, the party makes good time, moving from the low hills into small mountains. At one point, the group finds themselves on the bank of a fast-moving river. They decide to avoid the danger that might be associated and head south. After another hour, the party realizes the river is only growing wider and more dangerous. They decide to head back north, backtracking a little and then continuing until the river is narrow and slow enough to attempt to cross. The crossing going OK, and the party continues southeast.
As you crest a low ridge, you spy the crumbling ruins of an old watchtower about 100 feet away standing amid the rugged hills. The place is so old that the walls are only mounds of rubble enclosing a courtyard of sorts, adjacent to the broken stump of an old tower. A colorful tent has been set up in the middle of the courtyard, but no one is in sight.

Ian will move forward with Glyn, stealthily:

HDP will aid with their stealthy maneuver by casting Minor Illusion in a direction opposite of where Glyn and Ian and the other party members are. He creates the sound of a goblin (since he has heard several in the adventure so far) fighting with another goblin about 30-40 feet away from the tent to see if anyone reveals themselves at the new noise.
I'm confused, or perhaps my description isn't worded well. You are on a low ridge 100 feet from the ruin of a tower with some walls and perhaps other fallen-down buildings within the walls. There is a tent within the ruined walls. For anyone to be "on the other side", I need to know how you're getting to the other side.
And, HDP, minor illusion has a 30-foot range. If you were to cast it 30 feet from the tent, the sound would either need to be near you or you'd have to be standing at the tent.
Gruxx and Rock, how far back are you standing? Are you staying 100 feet away?
Rock would be on the ridge where we first saw the tent and Glyn and Ian went to check it out so that we would not mess with their sneaking around, I think HDP is just behind and off to the side to the left..
Ian's away for a bit and thought he might have trouble posting. Let me make a few allowances.
As Rock and Gruxx stay back on the ridge, 100 feet from the ruins, Glynquinal, Ian and HDP stealthily approach. The sun is still up, though descending toward the horizon. There is probably about 45 minutes to an hour of light left. It's dusky enough that the dancing flame of some sort can be seen slightly illuminating the tent top from the inside. The tent can just be seen above the crumbling walls, which look to be about six to eight feet tall at their highest, but have a few fairly large gaps that could have once been gates or doors, or are perhaps sections of collapsed wall.
About half way to the ruins, HDP whispers to the elves that he plans to attempt to create a diversion so that their approach might be even stealthier. Ian and Glyn agree, but another 20 feet closer, and all three begin to smell a deathly odor wafting from the tower’s direction. HDP covers his nose, looking at the others for guidance.

Glynquinal's nose is offended by the smell, but his curiosity is stronger. He will continue moving forward until he can see over the crumbling wall as quietly as he can.
From your position, Glynquinal, you count four zombies, but between the tent and the remains of the tower, you can't see everywhere within the wall, so it's possible there are more. The four are primarily just standing around like they're waiting for something.
Glynquinal remains in position, and sifns in thieves cant to Ian what he can observe. He' wait a few more minutes to see if anything elses changes before returning to where Rock and the othets are. Just to prepare, he readies a crossbow laying out beside him. He then draws out several arrows and readies his bow.

Gruxx will lead the party on this off-road adventure. He will try to stick a trail if one exists.
Survival: 10

Glynquinal will take up a position behind Gruxx.
Rock will fall in behind Glyn.
Good roll, Gruxx. Roll three more survival rolls for me, please.

Rock will stay back with the rest, at the ready with his great axe.

OOC, with the rubble of a ruined, crumbling tower, what additional checks are needed to get close to the colorful tent while being stealthy?

Stealth 27
Glyn, you sneak up and peer beyond the wall to see a number of zombies moaning about within the ruin.
Glynquinal seeing a number of zombies milling about takes a moment to count them. Then he turns his attentions to looking for anyone else in the area.
