Rock swings his axe at the giant spider, but the creature manages to dance out of the way. It is unprepared, however, for the stream of fire the dragonborn issues forth. It singes the creature, adding a noxious odor to the room.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gruxx moves over to stand beside Rock. Being beside the wolfish dragonborn, Gruxx suddenly feels like he'd have advantage on any attack rolls he makes.
WIS save DC 14: 13 - damage: 11
But it doesn't matter as his cloud of swirling flaming swords tears into the remaining giant spider, ripping it apart.
The wizard is a dark elf. While the individual isn't necessarily remarkable, his staff is. The top has been crafted into the shape of a black spider, a moniker you are well familiar with.
With hard work and a little luck, you have defeated the Black Spider and undone his destructive plots, cleared Phandalin of the ruffians who threatened its people, and reclaimed the lost mine of Wave Echo Cave. Your deeds (and the deeds of those who accompanied you) will be long remembered in this corner of the Sword Coast. In years to come, the restored mines of the Phandelver’s Pact will bring great riches to Phandalin and help establish peace and prosperity in the area.
Gundren and Nundro Rockseeker (who was found bound but still alive in an adjacent chamber) take over administration of the new mine. (Unfortunately, the third Rockseeker, Tharden's, body was also found.) For your service to their family, the Rockseekers gladly award you a 10 percent share of the mine’s profits.
What do you think your characters (and even Herr Doktor Professor, Ian and Glynquinal) will do next? If the characters want to remain in Phandalin and perhaps restore Tresendar Manor or establish homes of their own, the people of the area are glad to have them stay. Even if they choose to move on in search of new adventures, they’ll always have a warm welcome in Phandalin.
The campaign is done, but we can do some finishing posts to give some good closure if you wish.
Woot woot! It took awhile but we did it! Thank you for doing all this DDP. It has been a blast.
Graxx will continue adventuring for a time until he performs a deed such as slaying a dragon that would allow him the right to challenge for Chieftain of the Sky Pony tribe. He would then use the 10% of the mine to share amongst his tribe to better their wellbeing.
As this was not an official Adventurers League game, characters do not gain or retain experience and rewards to continue onto other campaigns. Rock is your character, and you can use him again or not, depending on the campaign and what the DM allows. He won't "take" any loot or experience with him. If you're interested in that kind of game, look for Adventurers League campaigns. They are fairly rare on PbP; generally they're only available live. You can use this game in Rock's backstory on another game if you wish to use him again, but it won't affect his stats or inventory.
I think Glyn and Ian would have returned to Neverwinter and opened some kind of investigations storefront. Phandalin would be a little too podunk for their liking. Ultimately, they'd probably be involved in some illegal activities here and there, but maybe not enough to actually ever be under scrutiny. HDP, I think, would stay in Phandalin just a little while to collect as many stories as he can before moving on. Then again, I could also see him settling down if the right girl caught his eye.
I appreciate you both sticking it out. Thank you for your participation.
Here on D&D Beyond, just keep an eye out for campaign threads that are recruiting. Some start at Level 1, some higher. There are other websites that have pbp. I enjoy D&D Beyond the best, but others prefer other websites.
Gruxx, you are restrained. On your next turn, you can make an athletics check to try to break out or attack the webbing.
Rock, you're up! The last spider is still in melee with you.

Round 7
Gruxx, you're up!
Gruxx attempts to break out by attacking the webbing with his mace!
Attack: 12 Damage: 5
Gruxx is just able to break free of the webbing.
Would you like to do anything else this round? You still have movement and your bonus action.
Gruxx will not take a bonus action but will move as close as possible to the remaining spider.
Gruxx moves over to stand beside Rock. Being beside the wolfish dragonborn, Gruxx suddenly feels like he'd have advantage on any attack rolls he makes.
WIS save DC 14: 13 - damage: 11

The room is quiet.
“Rock! Rock! Is that all of them?” says Gruxx as sweat streams down his face.
Gruxx makes his way over and stands above the person that turned invisible before.
”This one seems to have had magical powers. Do you think they were controlling all this?” asks Gruxx.
Let’s see what he has on him.
Investigation 16
Grux you may want to take a look!
Gruxx walks over and will make the body be facing up if not already. Gruxx will look at the person to see if he recognizes them.

Rock will also continue with friend Grux, to gain more knowledge and personal experience.
what did we gain?
Rock, what do you mean?
Sorry, I came off poorly, I mean what experience and or treasures did we find?
I did and do enjoy this, as a play by post, it give you time the think about what you want to do as a posed to making snap decision at a game table.

Is there another like this just a bit higher level?
