Sorry to hold this up longer, but, Glyn, sleep affects all creatures in the blast radius, not just targets you choose. I realize you're at a bit of a disadvantage because it's theater of the mind, but everyone is pretty much clustered together. You could aim for one creature if you want with the spell (to avoid hitting any allies). If you'd rather not use a spell slot for just one creature, you can change your action. Or, you can chance it. Sleep does start with the lowest hit points and work its way up, so maybe all your friends have more hp than the wolves?
Exchanging his diamond for a pinch of sand, Glynquinal focuses a sleep spell a bit away from the crowd of adventurers and wolves so that the wolf attacking him is just caught in the spell's effects. As he finishes the incantation, the wolf's eyes go out of focus, its eyelids droop, and it slumps to the ground, making a small whine. As the rogue smiles, looking down on his accomplishment, Rock slams his greataxe into the creature's spine, slicing it in two. In response, the dragonborn actually lifts his head and howls into the night in triumph.
Gruxx swings his glaive, swiftly ending the life of the wolf nearest him.
HDP makes a snide remark at the last living wolf, attempting to prove that the pen is mightier than the sword, but Ian's quick sword work slices and dices, causing HDP to wonder whether the phrase really holds any water.
All that's left is the heavy breathing of five adventurers standing over the bloody remains of five unsuspecting wolves.
Glynquinal, putting away the sand, "Wolves are beginning to be somewhat of an irritation. Perhaps we should find a way to keep them from bothering us while we are out and about."
Glynquinal glancing over at Ian as he gathers himself, "I would love to have a charm against wolves. They smell terrible and disturb the night. We'll have to see about that when we get a chance."
Glynquinal will take the opportunity to string out some of the bells and string to try and set an 'early warning' for anything else sneaking into the camp.
HDP, sitting up, yawning and stretching, says to the others "What say you all? Shall we venture back to Phandalin? You know, that town with hot meals and NO wolves? I mean, seriously, are we the only prey in these woods? These wolves seem pretty keen on our destruction."
You load up the wagon and head back down the Triboar Trail toward Phandalin. The day goes by uneventfully as you trundle along. As the sun begins to set, you find a spot along the route that would make a good place to camp. You've just gotten a fire going when Ian hears something moving through the woods a little south of your campsite. As he listens, it sounds like it's moving closer. He's about to say something when Herr Doktor Professor makes a noise to get everyone's attention and whispers, "I hear something," and points in the same direction.
HDP informs the others of the noise. Ian quietly moves to the nearest tree or bush and attempts to hide and holds his shortbow at the ready.
HDP, seeing this, understand the ambush tactic and calls out "Hail, and well met traveller, whoever you may be. Be you friend? if so, then you have nothing to fear. Come join us by the fire. If you be foe, I warn you - our steel is sharp and our tempers short. You have been warned." and he stands, brandishing his rapier, but standing in such a way so that if an enemy runs up to fight, it will be well-lit for Ian to get a good shot off.

Glynquinal will indeed focus on the closest wolf then and cross his fingers the effect is a good one.

Everyone earns about 50 XP.
Glynquinal, putting away the sand, "Wolves are beginning to be somewhat of an irritation. Perhaps we should find a way to keep them from bothering us while we are out and about."
HDP replies "Another reason for us to sleep our next night in a city! Some refinement, some relaxing, and NO WOLVES!"
Glynquinal glancing over at Ian as he gathers himself, "I would love to have a charm against wolves. They smell terrible and disturb the night. We'll have to see about that when we get a chance."
Ian nods in agreement.
Rock grumbling "Thanks"
“As many as we have killed surely they have to be thinning out by now.”
Anything else before going back to sleep?
Glynquinal will take the opportunity to string out some of the bells and string to try and set an 'early warning' for anything else sneaking into the camp.
The party completes their evening's rest (hit those long rest buttons). What is the plan for today?
HDP, sitting up, yawning and stretching, says to the others "What say you all? Shall we venture back to Phandalin? You know, that town with hot meals and NO wolves? I mean, seriously, are we the only prey in these woods? These wolves seem pretty keen on our destruction."
Glynquinal gathers himself up from a seated position.
To Ian, "That sounds like a great plan. Let's get a move on."
Ian and HDP will help the others put out the fire and gather their bedrolls for the journey.
"Yes, let's go and let them eat something else!" says Gruxx.
"Yes let us be gone from here!"

Glynquinal will draw Talon and wait for a response near Ian.
