Ian and HDP move up to join Glyn. Do they see any humanoid figures? Ian will pat Glyn on the shoulder to let him know they are there, and ready to move forward. HDP pulls his rapier, and is ready (he thinks) for anything that may come his way.
OOC - with this being the holiday season, I will likely be in and out, so my apologies in advance for slowing things down.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Glynquinal reassured his friends are there intends to explore the northern part of the cavern. He will pick up the glowing ball bearing, and throw it in that direction to help Gruxx see better. Trying to move quietly after throwing the ball bearing, moving in a slightly different direction than the throw he moves forward.
The ball bearing bounces into the cave, adding a little light, but not very much. Glynquinal moves north almost silently. The closer he gets to the unknown area, the more he can see that the cave floor has fallen in, forming a 10-foot-wide, 20-foot-deep pit. A rope is tied off around a nearby stalagmite and dangles down the side of the pit. Looking in, Glyn can see there are rough-hewn tunnels heading northwest and east.
Glynquinal will lead the party to the spot where the floor has fallen in, helping to guide those that can't see well in the dark. Once standing next to the edge of that part of the floor, he will drop a ball bearing down to listen for how long of a drop it is.
Glynquinal removes a bit of phosphorescent moss from his pouch and cast Light on the ball bearing again renewing the spell.
Waiting for a bit, then speaking in an arcane language Gruxx does not understand he also casts Mage Hand. Placing the glowing ball bearing in the grasp of the Mage Hand, he directs toward the floor below, and as far out in front of them as the spell will allow before dropping it. Then he dismisses the Mage Hand.
Quietly to Gruxx, "That may help, but it could have alerted anyone that is around and can see well in the dark. If you go, I'll be right behind you."

Gruxx moves up exactly where Glynn has motioned to. He waits and does not say a word to risk being heard.
From the mouth of the tunnel, it's hard to tell if there are any figures. You'll need to get closer, or there needs to be more light.
Rock will join Grux

It's 20 feet deep.
To the rest of the party, Glynquinal asks, "Sounds like it's 20 foot down. Who wants to go first? NO idea what might be down there."
Gruxx frowns.
"I normally would to go first but hate to go blindly. I am happy to go second right behind the first person."
Glynquinal removes a bit of phosphorescent moss from his pouch and cast Light on the ball bearing again renewing the spell.

Rock will go first
As he begins to descend Glynquinal whispers, "Be careful my friend. We'll be right behind you."
Gruxx will go second!
Glynquinal will descend after Gruxx clears the rope.
Rock has no trouble climbing down the rope the 20 feet. Which way would you like to go?
After listening for sounds of anyone in the area, Glynquinal will go north just past the edge of the low light offered from the ball bearing.
Perception 9
Rock will go to the nearest tunnel and look in.
Glynquinal ventures northwest while Rock heads east. Both find numerous intersecting passages. The ceilings are low — only six feet.
Glynquinal signals to Ian in Thieves Cant, "This looks like a job meant for a smaller elf. Do you want to take the lead? two ways to go here."
