At Humphry's mention of the possibility that their prey might be nearby, Dagon immediately whirls from the remains of the vanquished specter with a malevolent grin on his face and his greataxe brandished aggressively before him.
"Yes, pack mates! We shall finally spill the blood we have been hunting for!" The half-orc hurries over to help with the portcullis, but when he sees the gnome quickly keep his fellow companions from getting too close or touching the gate, Dagon takes a step back and checks his own battle zeal. He waits with baited breath while Humphry attempts to toy with whatever it is that has the sharp-eye'd gnome on edge, but finally mentions in a tense whisper "Let me know if or how I can help, little hunter. Otherwise, prepare yourselves for combat my brothers. The Chimera will feast tonight."
With the hidden blade defeated by Humphry's skilled poking and a prompt from Kic to proceed, Dagon nods to his druid companion and moves toward the portcullis to begin trying to move the obstacle. He squats and grabs the slats, aided by his ursine companion, and braces himself to lift. The half-orc quietly mutters beneath his breath, "You better cooperate door... you do not want to see what happened to the last one that defied us..." but quickly he grunts with effort and puts all of his heavy musculature into opening the gate. The lust for blood drives his muscles past the point of discomfort and strain, and the marauder relentlessly tries as hard as he can to force the portcullis open.
Humphry nudges the blade out of the way after it clatters to the floor, and moves away from the portcullis. A wild grin flashed across the gnome's face as the anticipation mounted, "It's time". Now facing towards the barrier, Humphry once again ready(ies) Chill Touch against any would be hostile forces on the other side.
Dagon rips the portcullis free of it's fastening bolts, aided by Kic, and hurls it to one side. Humphry and Perry step in front, prepared for the inevitable brutal combat, only to find themselves facing yet another door, this one at the end of a twenty foot corridor. The sound of combat can now be heard by all; the clash of steel on steel accompanied by a grim shuffling sound.
A little peeved at not being able to get right into the action, Humphry grimaces and checks the corridor for traps (Investigation 6), then goes to the door at the end and also checks it for traps, (Investigation 10). If it's safe, Hunprhy will motion for someone to open it while he again ready(ies) Chill Touch on any hostile forces beyond the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dagon shares his companion's initial enthusiasm as they erupt into the corridor ready for battle, and he also shares their frustration at finding themselves stymied by another corridor. Still, the sounds of combat could be heard even louder now, just beyond a distant door. The half-orc watched as Humphry quickly went about checking the party's surroundings, his obvious piranha-like blood thirst bringing a smile to the hulking warrior's face, and once Dagon's companion had determined the area to be safe the warrior ran forward to address the door before them.
"Can you hear us, brothers in the hunt?" The marauder whispers very quietly while pulling a crowbar from his satchel, "Can you smell us? Can you feel the icy touch upon your shoulder... and know that death has come for you?"
With that, Dagon drives the crowbar aggressively into the doorjam, grips it with both hands and plants his feet, then heaves with all his strength to pry the door open.
The wooden door shatters into a thousand shards, revealing a scene of chaos. Ten feet away a hafling rogue and what appears to be an axe beak are engaged in combat with two zombies. Towards the back of the rectangular room, roughly forty feet away, a lizardfolk fighter and human wizard fend off a wight. Chunks of stone are scattered throughout the room where the ceiling caved in.

Perry lowers the bow slightly, "The sound of battle already in progress. Are they sparring or dueling..."
The corridor is safe to traverse, and the door is free of traps.
