I will spend time getting to know the Prince. If the opportunity presents itself, I will offer him and his men to feel free to come by or stay at my Inn.
I will also be spending time up on the roof and deck enjoying the warmth on my skin and watching the spectacular sunsets .
Hearing Jason's news..my mind wonders and also hopes that maybe Kelvin to be there among the escort to guide us back home.
The first day at sea ends with a nice meal prepared by the cook. It is not the normal rations that one gets at sea but a rather lavish meal with meat, breads, cheeses and veggies followed by some nice fruit tarts. There is wine to be drank along with ale and water. The prince soon retires back to his cabin after the meal and will remain there until morning with a guard stationed outside his cabin.
Herschel sits for a bit to figure things out. Now that he can see the suns he understands how the shadows from two light sources played tricks on him. The one sun is about at its zenith while the other one looks to be around 8 am. You can feel the extra warmth on your skin. The farmers you see will wave and say hello to you. While the english is a bit different you can still understand it. Soon you find yourself heading down the dirt roadway towards the stronghold once again.
The clothing is like medieval times home spun and plain. There does to be some that have a bit of a finer cloth but all is still rather drab and pain. Most of the English is like modern English just with a rather odd slang to it. Like they use more than one language so it mixes a bit but still understandable.
If there is anyone fairly close to the road I would stop and ask ‘Who is the master of yon keep?’ Is he a fair and just master?’ Followed by ‘What is this land called?’ And finally ‘What day and year is it?’
I've expanded my morning ritual slightly to include more prayer then I did before, but even on the barge, I take the time to practice with and without the new armor and swords. It's important to me I don't let the ease of the lighter materials reduce the efforts I'd made at honing my body since I first started after the download. Even without the benefits of the lighter armor, it's fairly obvious to me that my new body moves quicker then before and with the extra speed and strength, my control over the blades increase and I feel more ... complete.
After that I do spend some time with the others getting to know the prince and his men.
Emulating what I've been instructed in, I try my own prayers to Bahamut, making conversation while not petitioning anything and getting familiar with the methods of reaching his representatives.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
The ones in the field answer Herschel. The stronghold is kept by our Lord Douglas Thayer he is a very kind and just leader. As for the date and time that is a bit confusing as we just tend the crops but it has been about 103 days since the landing.
It is about a five to six day journey across the inner sea.
I'll spend the time as best I can, mostly working on schematics for the machines I'm hoping to build in between spending time relaxing both with my friends and with Thalica.
The cotton fabric factory would be a good start. The tech was simple enough, whatever few gaps I could not recall would be simple enough to work out logically. With a little luck, we could start churning out cotton fabric at a much lower cost than the locals. Should give our nation a significant trade advantage for a while before others catch onto the trick.
The next project would be tougher to work out the kinks. The process of making steel was one I knew well, from the old fashioned bloomeries to modern BOFs. The machines would be easy enough, heck making use of magical enchantments to heat and move the ridiculously massive crucibles would make things even easier to manage. Additional enchantments could probably help with making it safer, shielding the workers from the flames. But the chemistry of it... that would be tougher. Which elements are added, in what quantities, when, how long to continue with a particular step before moving on to the next, it all had a massive impact on the properties of the metal that would be produced at the end. Even after the steel is produced and poured, the tempering process, managing the changes in temperature as it cools, was likewise crucial. Getting something wrong and producing nearly worthless rubbish is rather simple, and I was familiar with only a few of those critical details. There'd be no way around it, I'd have to do a ton of experimentation, and not just with the steel, but also reproducing the coke. That was going to get expensive, especially for the tool steels using rarer elements like tungsten...
Still, it would be worth it if we could manage. Just one full sized crucible could easily produce dozens of tons or so worth of low cost steel on a daily basis, and of a higher quality than anything the locals could manage to boot. I'd love to see their faces if I could show off the durability of a sword or armor made from properly tempered L6 Bainite. They'd probably ask if I snuck some adamantium in there.
Ooh, adamantium, and mithril for that matter, just a little bit of chromium or tungsten goes a long way for alloys, I wonder what could be produced using those?
The workers in the field will tell Herschel that they hence came from a place called the mother. Since arriving here they have known some peace and some some danger but they are pretty protected by the Lord and his council.
The next few days on the boat is pretty peaceful. As you sale ever more west you can see the mountains that are snow capped from a distance. The range seems to be very long and high making any travel through the area harsh if there is a way over them at all.
I finish up the Horse shoes and get help putting them onto my horse (Crafting Blacksmith , Factotum bonus with Mage Craft item from whomever has the skill at this point, with assistance, should total a minimum of +15 to attempt.) "If I get better options, I'll move them later, but I honestly love the idea of riding over water."

I spend more time practicing with different shapes. When time spares I will watch Jonathan practice with his weapon training. Caesar roams the vessel looking for amusement. One day he scrambles up to the upper portion of the mast and peers off in the distance as he has seen the sailors do.
As the days pass, I begin preparations for experimenting with some of the fragments of chemical knowledge I recall from home, seeing what kinds of basic concoctions I can create to help our encounters. Periodically praying to Bahamut without asking for anything - mostly just relating my own life and religious history out into the ether.

Everything seems to be going fine on the trip back until Cesaer decided to climb up the central mast to be a look out. He made it about half way up when the boat began to list to one side and then a snapping sound is heard as the Central mast snaps sending Cesaer and the central rigging crashes into the water off the port side. Men are scrambling about as they work to fetch the sailors and big ape out of the water along with the sails, rigging and main mast pieces. The boat comes to a halt as all of this goes on. The prince even comes running out of his cabin to see what all the commotion is all about.
I quickly come up from below as the crashing noises start. I start moving to help, but then pause. The sailors know what they're doing, I couldn't quite claim the same. I stay out of their way, but offer to lend a hand when and where its welcome.
As the chaos starts winding down, I'll approach the captain, "Sir, I can mend that mast with a spell, good as new, if we can just manage to lift it back into place for a few seconds. I'll help with that part however I can as well."

is it archaic english, like King Arthur/SCA speak? What about clothing-homespun cloth?

Travis, spends some time drinking with the prince and his men getting to know them a bit better.

Herschel will thank them and continue on toward the keep.

I see ceaser go up and ask Rachel, "How much do you think he weighs?"
OOC: Do we feel the boat list at all?
I think for a moment before answering. " Probably about a thousand pounds. "
