Respar gets the second door open, though not quite as easily as the first. Beyond is a fairly well appointed bedroom. Or at least it would be if the person living here was not apparently a slob.
On the right hand side is a bed. Directly ahead is a wardrobe. The magic item earlier detected appears to be within the Wardrobe.
Hanging up on the wall is a well-crafted longsword in its sheath. The symbol of Mitra is embossed upon the pommel.
Jesla hangs back with Grumblejack . She studied the others intently as they work. Eya and Respar serm to be good at what they do. Kiven still seems useless .They all have the same goal for now as he said. At least I know who to sacrifice if need be she thinks. He is safe for now but one day.... Jesla eyes Kiven with a dark grin.

"Finally," Eya says as Respar manages to pick the lock. As she looks around the room and notices the trashed state of it, she says, "Ugh, I hate this guy more and more. I'm going to look around. Respar can you check the wardrobe for traps before we open it? No sense in getting sloppy now."
Eya perception to look for anything hidden, perhaps in/under the bed or any drawers: 9
Respar finds no traps, and the wardrobe is opened. Within are several sets of clothing, each sized to fit a larger man.
The glow of the magic item seems to be coming from the featureless bottom of the Wardrobe. It does not take long, knowing that it is there, to open the false bottom.
In the space beneath is a heavy looking lock box, with a broken lock.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Respar says softly, "Maybe this is where he keeps his skimmed coin, and whatever is magic." He suggests Jesla or Grumblejack take the longsword, then does a check on the lockbox to see if it is trapped.
Jesla eyes the sword for a moment . She debates internally for a minute before speaking . " I can put this sword to good use. Rededicate it to shedding blood in Gorum's name. " The barbarian admires the weapon for a moment before holding it at her side ." It's good to hold an actual weapon now. "
(OOC Pending no traps being found by Respar's 21 roll....)
Kiven holds up a hand and looks the rogue in the eye to ask Respar to allow him to take over now that they've found the lockbox. 'The Prince' has handled many magic items in studies with his father, and sometimes people would bring the elder Aloro potentially cursed items and the like to study before it was decided what to do with them. A few of these items even ended up in the family vault for safe keeping, with strict instructions that they never be touched, of course. Kiven was particularly fond of a few of them...
Kiven stands and silently suggested that he and Respar both stand back a few feet. The elf whispers a word in Elven and turns his wrist over, splayed fingers doing the same. At that an icy blue spectral hand appears next to the lockbox and, with small motions of Kiven's fingers coaxing it, the hand opens the box and attempts to lift out the magic item for them to inspect. The elf's eyes are noticeably focused, showing great interest in whatever they are about to find.
Respar finds and swiftly disables a poison needle trap on the lockbox. It looks like the poison had long ago lost its potency, but still...
Using a minor telekinesis effest, Kiven carefully opens the box and lifts out the magic item, wrapped in cloth. It proves to be an 18 inch long wooden baton, stained a very dark brown. To Kiven's eyes, the enchantment appears to be Transmutation related.
Still within the box are several sacks filled with gold and silver coins, with a few platinum ones in a smaller sack to the side.
Respar simply looks thoughtful as the baton, or wand, or whatever it is, rises from the box. But once the coins start appearing he grins. He quickly divides the soils among the group, even giving some coin to Grumblejack if he wants.
OOC: I'd say give everyone 350 GP equivalent, with the remaining 137 to Grumblejack, just to keep him happy. If he drops, well, maybe we can scavenge it back from his cooling corpse. There should be enough sacks for everyone to have their own.
"Okay, this is good. Prince Aloro, do your elf eyes tell you what it does? In the meantime, we need to pick a direction to go and should probably avoid guards if we can. That means the eastern door is out. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when this card game starts. That could lighten the number of guards on patrol or perhaps it could even give us a chance to easily take out a bunch of drunk guards. Either way, from the information we have, all we know is that the time of the game interferes with the guard shift change in 30 minutes. I vote we just keep moving for now and quickly inspect what's behind this other western door and then try to make our way south. What do you say?" Eya asks the group.

Respar nods. "The more guards at that game the easier it is for us to get out of here." He moves to the western door and after listening, attempts to open it.
Respar moves to open the other door in the office. It opens easily enough. He catches a glimpse of shelves and other storage units, there is a strong earthy scent to the room. An ornate box with a prominent symbol of Mitra is on a table.
At about this time, the door to the east opens, and a young man in guard attire steps out. He pauses, and stares at Jesla and Grumblejack.

Hearing the Eastern door open Jesla glances over . Seeing the guard walk in her heart races. He must be stopped before the alarm is sounded . She instantly transforms into a sleek tiger . The sword clangs to the floor as she races against time to stop him. She leaps up and rips at him with her broad jaws, trying to stop him immediately.
Jesla dashes forward and mercilessly cuts down the hapless guard. As the man falls, she finds herself locking eyes with another guard, this one grizzled and lean. The man yells and kicks the door shut. Grumblejack stomps up and takes care of that problem swiftly however, booting the door right back in, breaking a hinge with the impact. The guard within has adopted a combat stance and levels a spear in Jesla's direction. He is still yelling at the top of his lungs, calling for people to rally.

Eya drops a dagger for Respar, "Use this, it really isn't any good for me. I'm going."
Eya immediately rushes out the door and witnesses the scene. Blood is everywhere as bits of guard still hang from Tesla's mouth. Eya grins, then rushes behind the tiger to see what's happening. Without so much as a sound or motion from the tiefling, a portal of flame bursts behind the grizzled guard from above the table. Another infernal eagle screeches as it comes down to assault the man from behind.
Free action to drop dagger for Respar. Eya move to O14. Eagle (up to 4 minutes) summoned at V14. Using Smite Good. Full attack.
Tesla sees another human appear and slam the door shut . As Grumblejack knocks the door aside she pounces upon the grizzled guard. Her blood is boiling at what they did to her in this place. She rips and tears at him trying to kill him quickly .

Kiven brings the baton closer with his spectral hand, his eyes focused on it intently. He ponders if he has seen such an item before, or the transmutation magic he can sense on it.
Confident that the item is not cursed and is not intended to harm the user, the lordly elf takes it into his real hand and runs his other hand over it. He finds three buttons, thinks for a moment, and pushes the first from the end.
OOC
Rolled 16 Spellcraft to identify the baton (see Discord).
Hearing commotion, Kiven quickly turns, stuffing the baton into his armor and waist band on his back. He swiftly strides out of the bedroom and through the office, saying calmly to Respar "time to go." The elf somehow still conveys some urgency despite his relaxed, smooth stride and cold, emotionless expression. It is likely from the speed at which he moves past the rogue, although even when in a bit more of a rush the tall elf mostly looks like he is effortlessly gliding through the rooms. In just a few seconds he finds himself next to Jesla, still in stride, looking to avoid a tiger bite but see what is going on and where their path out may lie. "Barbaric, but effective, I'll admit. Let us make haste..."
