Respar heads out, following the man told to look for eddarly. He ends up being stopped at the front gate. "Liam? You already got back with the Father. What's your excuse for going out again?"
The other three head to Father Donagan's quarters, a room just across from the chapel. The father seems to have lived a fairly simple life, his room is comfortable, with well made furniture and furnishings, but there's no trace of the gaudy finery that some priests of his station like to display.
The other guard shakes his head, "You too? I'm still not sure what all the fuss is about. Good luck finding the captain." The Postern gate is opened, letting the disguised rogue leave. The man actually looking for Eddarly is well ahead, but still visible, trudging on down the road towards town.
Blau helps to search and applies his spiritual knowledge to identify anything of value in Father Donnegin's quarters with the others. "We can use this time to rest a bit, perhaps, once we go back through the tunnel."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
The search of Father Donnagin's quarters does not take long. The only ornamentation in the room is a golden sunburst upon the wall, it does appear to be valuable. A small chest in the corner contains a few personal belongings, along with 2 scrolls and 3 vials, the latter of which appears to be holy water. A small bookshelf contains several theological works, mostly pertaining to Mitra, and a series of fiction novels involving Cadfell, the crime solving monk.
'Eddarly' and the guard return to the keep, and are quickly let in by the gatekeeper. Along the way, they are treated to the sight of Captain Varning leading his scouts and a few dozen others out on horseback. The captain merely waves as he passes by, but presumably he is on his way to collect the Fritter boys and chase down flowers in the woods.
Balu nods "Sounds like a plan. I nearly exposed our presence when I tried playing doctor. "He gathers the found items (scrolls and potions only) ,carefully placing the other things back where they were as best he, then proceeds with the group. Once in a convenient location, he changes his disguise to that of a nondescript errand boy and makes his way with the group to the inn.

Kiven, disguised as the Father, makes his way towards the keep's exit. "Change into a healthy guard you saw in the sick ward" he says to his companions.
When questioned at the gate he says confidently "we need to check on the townsfolk, try to find out how this started." He doesn't bother to offer an explanation on why he has a few guards with him unless pressed.

Meanwhile, Eya has been off on her own. Having sent Snowflake to poison the messenger birds at the keep, she is now attempting to create a diversion before the attack begins at a small hamlet to the South.
"Feels like it's been ******* forever since I've been back in this shithole," she mutters to herself. The young tiefling is disguised as a plain-looking peasant girl via her magic circlet as she eyes a small wooden building with a man nearby. From a distance, she summons a Hell hound and instructs it in Infernal to run in and torch the building with its fire breath attack.
"Burn buildings, and scare people. You can kill a couple, but make sure you scare one and let them get away to get help. Now go and do your job," Eya tells the hound.
As the hound charges and begins its attack, she yells out, disguised as the peasant girl, "HELLLLP, IT'S A DEMONNNN! HELLLLLPPPPP!"
The hound begins setting the wooden house aflame. The disguised Eya just runs away from the hound, seeming terrified.
She runs away, heading back towards the main town.

Respar, disguised as the late Captain Eddarly, is prompted to report to the fort commander, Lord Thomas Havelyn. In all the group's spying, this is the closest they've come to the reclusive man.
The disguised rogue is greeted in an office filled to the brim with books and papers. Lord Havelyn is a regal looking man, middle aged and starting to grey, but still physically fit. "Eddarly, the recent troubles we have had, between that Flesh Golem a few weeks ago, to this sudden illness, and the movement up north have me concerned. They could be unconnected, but as you know I mistrust claims of coincidence. You claimed a while back that a few newcomers were acting suspiciously. Report, could they have anything to do with these events?"

The rest of the group filter out of the fort, and on to the meeting point just south of town. They are greeted by a single Mite hiding in the shadows of a tree, a giant centipede by his side. Shortly afterwards they are joined by Kiliketz and Poe, back from their mission to slaughter the messenger birds, and then Eya is seen traveling from the south.
The mite speaks, his incredibly ugly face appearing anxious, "My kin sleep for now, but we are ready, we have been busy, many insects have been taught to respond to our call."
Eya walks up to Kiven with a devilish smirk, and a quick wave, then says, "Easy. That should cause some alarm." She then greets Kiliketz, "Nice to see you too, Snowflake."
She glances over at the other companions, rolls her eyes, then glares back at Kiven, "Who are these jackwagons and why does one of them look like a dwarf that ****ed the side of a mountain? And where's the human?"
"Anyway, the time is near. What should we do next? I'd like to see about taking out the mages."

'Eddarly' did is best to look thoughtful. "Well, in their defense, they did help defeat the flesh golem. And they lost one of their own. And since then they kept to themselves and left the town." He paused, then said, "And we know from the journals that they didn't bring that flesh golem here." He tried to look sad at the memory of the alchemist. "But I can go search the place they rented to see if they left anything that can tell us if they were up to anything suspicious."
The lord looks at Respar oddly, "Last time we spoke on the subject, you told me there was reason to think they were in the building when the altercation began well after business hours. You were halfway convinced they were working with the alchemist in the making of that abomination, that they only 'helped' because they had no choice when it went out of control. What changed?"
The bluff check kept the inadvertent blunder from ending this, but you'll need another one to get things back on track.

Respar did his best to keep his face calm as Lord Havelyn asked his questions, revealing Respar's ignorance of private conversations. He could tell his cheeks reddened slightly and decided to use it for one final chance to bluff things. He cleared his throat.
"Sir, I have a confession to make. I was, uh, jealous of those folks. There is a young lady in particular whose eye was caught by one of the newcomers. And they were trying so hard to ingratiate themselves. That feast! So when I saw them somehow potentially involved with the golem, I read too much into it. They might have been in there when it broke free, true. But I think they helped us. The person who was turned into that golem was gone long before the newcomers arrived. I had forgotten that." He looked down. "I allowed my personal feelings to cloud my judgment. My apologies, sir."
The lord frowns, "Well then, see to it that your head is clear this time around. Take a few men and investigate. Start with their dwelling, then ask around town for anything else out of the ordinary. Be quick about it, my instincts tell me a storm is on the horizon."
He rummages around in his desk, takes out a formal paper, signs it, then applies a bit of wax to it before impressing it with his seal. Given a quick glance at the wording, Respar recognizes it as an emergency writ of search, allowing official temporary authority to search and seize just about anything and anyone at the discretion of the bearer, with the one caveat being that the bearer would have to justify their choices or face severe punishment afterwards.
'Eddarly' looked properly chastised. "Yes, sir. And thank you, sir." He took the writ and left the man's office. Once he was a few steps away he exhaled deeply, then quickly composed himself once more. He tucked the writ into a pouch, fetches 'his' cloak and left the keep, telling the men on duty he had an assignment in town from Lord Havelyn. He'd show them the writ if they pressed him. Once clear of the keep he made for the rendezvous with the others.
"Look at what I just got from His Lordship. Apparently Eddarly had been very suspicious of us and expressed those thoughts to Havelyn. I think I have managed to convince him we weren't involved with the flesh golem, but to make sure I am to search our old lodgings in case we left anything behind to incriminate us. We should all be able to move about freely for a few hours as Eddarly and some guards. What's next on the agenda?"

"On second thought, it's too early to take and hold the gatehouse. Let's see what the Father has in his private quarters."
Captain Eddarly made sure he could be seen by the trooper. The man ran up to him, almost out of breath. "At ease. You have a message for me?"
Upon hearing he is wanted back at the keep, he says, "Lead on." He follows the man back to the keep, at whatever pace is set.
