Poljen does his best to dodge the lightning.

Velon begins taking large hacks at the construct now, hoping to put it down before anyone else takes further harm.

Cratol Sees the creature still struggling with Silas so he moves with the others to attack this thing again hoping to bring it down so we can continue to foil the Cultists plans. 

Attacks with Advantage:  18/10, 14/15, 2/17, and 16/11  + 11 for first two and +10 for second two so 29, 26, 27 and 26 for attacks to hit.

Damage:  4, 6, 5 and 5 first two +6 and last two +5  10, 12, 10 and 10 damage.    He is still spending Ki points for the extra attacks.

 Lia draws another arrow back by her ear. The arrow flies forward as the string twangs loudly. She knows the less resources they use on this gateway keeper the better off they will be.  

Still wanting to save his greater magics for the conflict soon to come, Lawrance sends another fire bolt into the fracas using Gamliel's ability to distract to help his shot.

The retriever keeps taking hits, though it is showing damage to its frame, especially when Velon manages to break off one of its limbs. 

Silas continues to struggle with the construct as it slices at him. Another beam flares out, striking at Velon and causing his limbs to stiffen

Velon gets hit with a ray and feels his muscled start to seize up but then feels the dragon blood in his veins heat up as his muscles loosen.  He grins and keeps trying to smash the construct to bits.  Through the link he asks "Mari, everything ok with our new friend?"

Worried but happy that the construct hasn't seriously harmed his friends, Lawrance lets rip another fire bolt, aiming for a vulnerable joint with Gamliel's help.

Poljen continues to growl as he keeps chopping into the construct.

Cratol keeps attacking the construct too in hopes that they can soon end this constructs existent. 

Attacks with advantage:  7/13,  20/3,  20/9, and 7/15  That should make 24, 31, 30, and 25  The 31 and 30 being natural 20's

Damage:  4, 7, 8, 4 So damage should be as follows:  10, 14, 15 and 9    Used another Ki point

Lia stares tight lipped at the construct as it continues to defy them.  She takes aim with another arrow and lets it fly at the construct.  

Mari continues keeping a close watch on their guide. She reaponds to Velon via the link.  " He is fine so far.  No attempt to try anything.  "

The Silver Blaze continues to strike at the Retriever from all sides. The fight finally ends as Poljen strikes hard through a bit of carapace already weakened by other attacks. Something within is severed, and the construct ceases to move.

Slowly disentangling himself from the thing, Silas reverts to his human form. There is a fair amount of blood on him, with multiple cuts over his shoulder and back. "Is everyone all right? We shouldn't linger here long, I doubt we have a great deal of time left."

In back, Gerrick keeps eyeing the tunnel and Mari's blades in turn. Its clear that he doesn't want to be here, but he seems to not be particularly keen on testing the assassin's reflexes either.

Poljen's cgest is heaving from the exertion, but he nods at Silas.  "Agreed.  They likely know we are here and are getting ready, both for our arrival, and their foul ritual."

Once he's certain the construct isn't regenerating or repairing itself from the damage, Lawrance will look through the Wall of Force down the length of the corridor as far as he can. Once the coast is confirmed clear, he will drop his concentration on the barrier and go over to examine the creation, studying it with Gamliel's aid while he talks.

"Keeping wary for traps, too. Just because this incredible creature was powerful and probably more than sufficient to prevent lesser people past it's claws, doesn't mean they didn't set something else up." 

Once the group starts moving forward, Lawrance brings up his Detect Magic, scanning all the levels he can for possible magic traps or other discrepancies.

Cratol sighs in relief when the construct stops moving.  He will rest hunched over as he gets his breathing back to normal and then is ready to head forward with the rest of the group. 

Lia looks over at the rest of the group. " Is everyone ok? Anyone need healing?" She checks them out carefully.   

  Mari continues to keep a close eye on their guide as they move along.  

Perception: 28

The now slightly battered group moves on. The rhythmic noise resolves into chanting, in a rather foul language that Lawrence recognizes as abyssal. One voice in particular is harsh and deep, no human or elven voice to be certain.

The crystal that eliminated Lawrence's scrying spell is spotted up ahead.

Poljen looked to Velon and the others.  "So, should we just charge in and start killing?  Or do you think we have time to try to sneak in and get closer?"

  Lia smiles at her companions. " Well done my friends. I wasn't able to help much but Sune's power remains strong in me.  They can't withstand the might of Sune and Bahamat.  Let us end this scourge under Waterdeep.  "
