Pok'im gives a quick whistle to see if Vignar will come to him (Animal Handling - 19). If Vignar comes to him he just sits quietly in the room, calmly patting the dog and listening intently to what Penny has to say.
Vignar stops rolling in the trash for a moment, looks at the bugbear and gives him a woof before continuing to roll in the trash. After a while of rolling in the trash, the dog does eventually decide to lay near the door of the watch while you all go inside. As Veng introduces each of you to Penny, she extends her hand and greets each of you. "Well uhhh... I mean I don't really have any leads yet... the woman says sheepishly. I was hoping we could go over your story and any evidence you have and we could come up with our next course of action." Pulling out a notebook and quill, she will start taking notes.
(so did Vruuk give all his sketchings to the others to take to Penny? is it just Veng, Pokim, Cinders, and Gin in the office while Vruuk watches from the rooftops? I need to know what information you are giving Penny and your explanations as to how you got it.)
(Also I did not want to ignore Pokim attempting to apologize for punching the guard, but you guys do not see Stone at all on the way, I assume you came through the eastern gate and Stone normally watches the northern gate... and he might be taking a sick day for all you know :D )
Veng is rehashing his story from the night before and handing over the pamphlet the hooded woman gave him, the woman who ordered and paid for the attack is affiliated with the church. But Veng will talk about only his part going in the church. He wont mention the reconiasce the others did and what they took.
(@Wreck Vruuk would have given the driver's picture, but nothing else. He isn't even aware he has the ledger or other pictures yet... for reasons yet revealed. And veng can always say they saw the driver as the woman got back inside her cart.)
So as Penny listens to the story again she takes the pamphlet and the napkin from the bar and takes some notes. "So when you went to the bar, a hooded woman with two other hooded men approached you and paid you for trying to burn down you home... and they game you a pamphlet like the one you found on one of your attackers"penny would say as she picks up one of the pamphlets and looks at it. She turns it over and checks to see if there is anything. "So based on what you said.. it sounds like they wanted you to speak with the Cassandra woman... Did you do that? Did you tell her you were sent by the hooded woman?.. It sounds like that Cassandra woman might be our next step if you were able to follow the cart from the tavern back to the church... and the only name on the pamphlet they gave you was hers...." Penny says as she rubs the side of her head a bit while in thought. before moving her hair back behind her ear and picking up the sketch on the table. "So this is the person that drove the cart that dropped off the hooded figures... and you were able to follow him to a nice home across town. I guess it is possible that could prove to be useful information as well... maybe his employer knows something about the people he was driving around...."
After Penny has finished talking, Pok'im says to her looking a bit shamefaced "Pok'im would like to know if the Dwarf Guard called Stone is here. Pok'im would like to say sorry for hitting him!"
Penny would look to Pokim, her eyes moving from his eyes.. to his huge clawed hands and long strong arms before returning back to his eyes. "He is at home resting up. He is not due back into work until this evening when he is supposed to take the night watch at the northern gate... I am sure he would appreciate an apology. Penny says with a smile Then as the watchman turns her gaze to Veng, she will hesitate for a moment before responding to his question. "Well... uh... umm sure. Yeah I can probably go with you all of you wish. That... probably would be best" she says with a nervous smile. "Do you have any other evidence or anything to discuss before we go" the woman asks looking from the changeling to the goblin to the kobold and to the bugbear.
Penny nods to Pokim "Will do" before looking to the rest of the group. "Alright... will let me gather my things and we will be off. I don't actually recognize the man in that sketch and I don't know where he lives... so do you know how to get there?" The woman will ask as he collects a bag of supplies and tosses it over her shoulder.
(Vruuk said he would give you all the sketch of the driver and nothing else... so no map to his house?)
Veng will introduce Penny to everyone and review the basics of the case before asking "do you have any leads?"
Just before Cinders enters, he will tell Vignar to sit and wait outside once again
