(@All the last thing involved the lady, which threw me off. Sorry. Didn't help that it was 'Gin' that made the call, and not Cinder or Pok'im. But I think I got it now.)
Vruuk had been quiet and a little fidgety ever since being called out. So, more out of reflex he followed quietly after Cinders, Pok'im, and Vignar a ways before suck in a deep breathe. "W-wait. I.. uh.. well, about the mines. I know one entrance was collapsed according to our big scales."He says, reminding the duo of the lizardfolk. "Not shore 'bout any others near there. Also… ummm… I found themselves on myself earlier." He pulls out the ledger and pictures and offers them to cinder.

So Penny, Veng, and Gin gather out front of the house near the street. When Gin says she didn't find anything, Penny sighs and turns to Veng. As Veng describes the different paintings she nods and you see her take some notes in her notebook. When you mention the painting of the younger women and the writing on the back she drops her quill / pen thing and her face turns a few shades whiter. "Are you sure that it said Shektra? The name on the back of the painting was Shektra... the Silver Mother Shektra?! You think that Lady Hayes could be the sister of the Silver Mother... the woman that they call the Silver Lady..... the woman half the damn town worships...!?" Penny says as she picks up her pen and starts taking notes. "I cannot believe you discovered that, that is a pretty big detail..." Penny says taking notes. "I saw :Lady Hayes upstairs... she was very old and tired... I asked her a few questions but it was hard to understand everything she said. She said she asked Herman to help out at the church because she was too old to do so.. I could tell she was old but didn't know she was THAT old... maybe she is part elf or something.... I wasn't able to get much else from her.." she says looking down at her notebook. "I don't trust that Herman guy, that butler seems like a jerk... but it sounds like maybe that Cassandra woman is who we really need to gather more information on... I am going to head back to the station and talk to the captain. I don't know if you guys want to try to gather more information on Cassandra or what but I will be back at the station if you need me" The woman would then turn and leave unless you all have anything else to say.
Back at the house, The two bugbears and kobold make their way to the basement as Vruuk mentions the tunnel they discovered caved in down there. As Vruuk and Pokim relay to Cinders the tale of how Kit was located stuck in a sack in the cave in by their lizardfolk brother.
The three of you find down there a stone wall that was broken down that opens into a mine shaft. There are old wooden support beams holding up the remains of the shaft. As you make your way into the shaft about twenty or thirty feet, you are met by a large wall of rubble and dirt where it is obvious that someone has destroyed the supports here on purpose and the shaft had been caved in.
Veng will let Penny go and as she leaves tell her" we're going to look around and check in with the others. If we don't catch you today we'll go by the station in the morning "
"Though so." Vruuk looks between his hands and the pile of rubble twice over, and then shakes his head. "Yea, that's gonna take good while. Maybe.. uhm.. maybe ma and pa have map? Or maybe someone in town knows'em well enough to know of some unused ones closer to town." He shrugs helplessly as he looks to his brothers. "What'chall think'n?"

Cinders nods in thanks to Vrukk and puts the handed items into his bag, "I will investigate these at a later time. Thank you brother."
(Gonna roll investigation to see it Cinders can spot any ways that clearing the rubble will be easier. Any bonuses for a Kobolds instincts at digging and tunnels?)
Pok'im says "Pa would just say take it one rock at a time." He then carefully and methodically starts to clear the rubble away. As he moves the rubble he makes sure that it will not collapse as he works.
Pokim begins pulling the biggest of the rocks and debris from the cave in. He is making progress but very slowly as some of the soft soil keeps sliding down from above as he removes stones underneath. He is making progress though.
Veng is heading home, he would certainly come help dig as everyone caught up on what they found...not sure on time scale when they're digging versus how long until I would have gotten back

Pok'im looks at the work ahead of him (Investigation check 14) scratches his head and says "Pa always said doing a job well is better than doing it fast and a job will take as long as it takes!"
Vruuk had been admittedly waffling over helping dig at first. But until Pok'im or Cinder said otherwise, he nervously jumps in after while shifting stone towards the entrance, or off to the side as makeshift braces to the side to help keep the tunnel reinforced, if only a little. "'ope the others get back alright... Wait a tick. Hey Cinder. Ya sure ya ain't got some sorta magic trick fer escavating?" He asks. "Or heck, don't even need to be magic per se. You Kobolds like dig'n, don'tcha?"

So Pokim and Cinders are pretty sure that if you guys take shifts digging at your current rate it will take about two days to clear the rubble away and safley pass through the tunnel.
About an half an hour into Pokim beginning to dig Veng and Gin make their way home and find their siblings digging in the basement.
Cinders turns to Veng, talking quickly in excitement. "You know how I told you I found a potential lead earlier. Well on some paintings I found in the house, I saw reference to a silver mine that used to be under the church and one that used to be under this house. Considering their interest in this land, I thought that it couldn't be a coincidence and that the two mines might even be connected. So if we clear away this rubble, we might have a way into the church. At the very least we will be able to learn some more about what is going on."
"I found a possible connection to the silver lady from the stories, at the house the carriage went to. And I really pushed off this butt" Ven briefly changes back to the butler with a red blustered expression before resuming his form and continuing to dig. "This evening or tomorrow we check in with Penny, maybe this will lead somewhere and we can have news for her"
