Veng and Gin make their way to the town gate, walking through under the watchful eye of the guards. They notice a few other guards run past looking upwards towards the rooftops but otherwise it is pretty uneventful outside of a few stares and comments from people as you pass.
Eventually you all meet up on the other side of town and make your way to Old man Hagger's place. The once nice home sits off in the distance with a faint glow reflecting in one of the front windows. Vruuk would know that it is coming from the kitchen of the home. The sun is begging to set on the large farmhouse.
Pokim and cinders continue to dig.. working well into the evening. They are making good progress andbefore long they manage to make a small hole through the tunnel... not big enough yet for anyone to pass through (not even Cinders) but there is a slight breeze blowing through the hole.
After the harrowing escape out of the city, Vruuk resolved himself to simply avoid the place altogether for at least the remaining evening. What's a few extra hours for a chance to let things cool down again for a while. "Well shucks! 'es 'ome! Not that 'es probably got all that much to do outside of take'n care of da farm. But, ya never know."He comments on happily. If, however, Old Man Hagger doesn't answer the door before long, a worrying thoughts prompt him to go looking around the house from the outside for any signs of trouble.

As Veng and Vruuk approach the door with Gin following cautiously behind, a rustling can be heard inside after Veng knocks on the door. "Who's out there bothering me while I try to finish my dinner damn it!" the man shouts as he pulls open the door and looks up to the bugbear... then down to the goblin... then straight ahead towards the changeling. A small smile will spread across his scruffy aged face just a small bit before he quickly returning to his sour expression. "Well what do you want? I didn't expect to see you again big fella... and I see you brought some new friends with you... are you Ruby and Slate's kids too... I would have though they would have taught you more manners than barging in on old folks uninvited" the old man would say as he looks to each of you before shuffling inside with the door wide open. "Well get in here, you are letting the cold are in. I got some food still warm on the stove, sit down and I will get you some food" the man will say scuttling off towards the stove and pouring a thick meaty soup into some bowls.
"Thanks, yes we're all theirs and sorry for coming by unannounced, we wouldn't if it weren't so important. " Veng will walk in and serve himself a small portion of food just to be polite "thanks"
Sitting down Veng will tell about the attack on the house, missing parents, the payment from the church, hang his head and tell about hitting the guard, searching the old woman's house and connection there to the silver lady.....at some point Veng will feel like he is talking too much and certainly too fast.
"Sorry it's a lot...sorry" he puts his head down and takes a few small bites as an excuse to shut up and Hope's someone else speaks up before he is done chewing.
Vruuk's only grinned wider back at the elder. At first. The comment about Ruby and Slate teaching them better immediately wiped the smirk of his mouth, and led to him scratching his head in embarrassment. "Thank you, Mr. Hagger."He says as walks in awkwardly behind Veng to take his seat. Preferring to eat in silence, Vruuk shoots Veng a smile thanks for handeling the reveals. Gin, on the otherhand, he tries to keep an eye on.
"We waz 'opin -- I dunno, 'elp? I mean.. we found the letter. And, uh... mmmn..."Vruuk trails off there, rubbing the back of his head.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You're Mister Hagger?" He was... nicer than she'd been expecting. Sure she'd heard he was alright with Ruby and Slate, but she was more used to hostility than anything else. She tags along behind Vruuk, standing a bit closer than normal. Although normally when she walks into a new place her eyes would scan the room for valuables, her attention is locked instead on the scruffy man. Squinting suspiciously, she would try to get a read on him. Insight: 9
((He seems like a nice enough fellow to me! But Gin isn't the trusting sort, so I tried to play it how she'd see things
"Yeah I am Hagger! but you know that you were here the other day helping with my fields you forgetful little one!" The old man would grumble getting a bowl of meaty soup and putting it in front of the goblin. "Although you look a little different than last time I saw ya.....but my eyes arn't great and all you little kids look alike to me..." The man would say scratching his thick coarse stubbly scruff on his chin and neck. As you all sit at the table and eat Hagger's Critters and Carrots stewtm, Hagger will stand off to the side of the table and lean heavily on a weathered and worn cane. Once Veng starts talking about the disappearance of their parents and siblings, Haggers face will fill with worry.... and then as you mention the the church his face will go white... and then as he mentions the house and the connection to the silver lady... the old man will collapse on to the ground.
"I am fine... I don't need any help.... that is just... a lot" The old man would say staggering to his feet with the help of Veng before plopping down in one of the old wooden chairs in the dining room. "They didn't find the book of tears did they?...." Hagger would say reaching out and grabbing Veng by the shirt before looking to the bugbear and goblin.
((Oops, I thought you said only Vruuk knew him, I must had misread it.
Gin paused, ready to heal the man if it came to that. She paused, glancing at the others. “We found that one, right?” she asked, trying to recall. “Or was that a different one.” She paused, biting her lip. “Is the book why they attacked?” Maybe they could arrange a trade to get back Ruby and Slate.

Vruuk was there before, Veng and Gin were not. Last time though there was another goblin character played by a different player that is no longer playing. Hagger's eyes are bad so he just assumes it is the same kid.
(I am pretty sure you guys determined that your parents were hiding the book of tears and that it was stolen. Another book was left in its place in order to prevent a trap from being activated. the book that was left behind belongs to the church in town that warships the silver lady. "or silver mother depending on who you ask")

Vruuk scratches his head at the question until finally it clicks in mind. With a snap and clap, he nods vigorously. "Yeah. Somebody from the church took it, and replaced it with a fake."He gives his neck a few comforting cracks. "I think.. uh... no, that was dream. Ne'remind." He smiles sheepishly. "What'cha think we should do, Mr. Hagger? Pok'im and Cinder be digging at the moment."

"This... This is real bad... You are all in danger... I am a dead man... " The old man would rubbing his head. "Don't you all understand! They are going to use the book of tears to bring back the silver lady... to bring back Shektra! The old man would say as he slams his hands down on the table with surprising force. "If Shektra comes back... we are all dead. The Silver lady cannot be allowed to return to power!" Hagger will grunt as he becomes more upset and aggitated, scratching the thick stubble on his neck and now his arms as well.

As Veng gets up and moves around the table, Hagger is already staggering to his feet. You are pretty sure he just fainted for a moment.
Veng helps him up. "Yall get him a chair and something to drink"
