The bolt illuminates the camp as it arcs through the air and hits the bobcat with a brilliant dazzling flash of light. The bobcat releases one last yowl as the bolt strikes it square in the chest. The smell of burnt fur and flesh fills the air around the camp as the cat crumples to the ground and the night suddenly falls silent once more.
DM Note: Aplogies, but I’ve been forgetting to have you guys roll for magic attunement. Spellcasters, please roll Widsomsaving throws equal to the number of spells you cast during the battle.
DM Note: Gathering ingredients, hunting, fishing, trapping, and skinning monsters will be survival checks.
Thokein skins the cat with practiced hands. The fur is a bit singed, but will still serve as a fine rug, or garment. You also extract 6 claws from the beast’s paws and 11 pounds of meat.
Angie, after casting your last spell a strange feeling washes over you. You feel less restricted somehow as if a weight you did not notice before has been lifted. Your mind feels somehow clearer than it has since you arrived in this foreign land. You can feel an invisible, mystical force emanating around you, but you can’t discern where it is coming from.. Perhaps it is the fresh air? Maybe the grassy fields around you? Or, maybe it’s the very earth you stand upon. Nevertheless, you feel as if you have made a discovery and a renewed vigor pulses through your veins.
DM Note: Alright, you attuned to the white vitner of Trudvang without any mishaps, congrats Angie!
Looking into the night, a smile spreads across Angie's face. "This place doesn't seem as strange as it did before." Contentedly she goes back to sleep as though the camp hadn't just been attacked by a feral beast and one of her companions nearly killed.
Healer feels ssurprisingly envigorated after casting his last spell. It feels as if the stars and moons are shining brighter, the sounds of the night are clearer, and the textures of the ground underfoot appear more refined. He doesn’t have quite the glow and sense of satisfaction carried by Angie to her bed, but he does feel quite well.
Assuming Healer reads through the remainder of the night he can read about half of the notebook. There are a lot of scribblings about the various locations in which different plants can be found, descriptions, and little sketches of what they look like.
The rest of you head back to sleep and wake fully rested a few hours after dawn. The day looks as if it will be another warm one as you break fast, mount your horses, and begin the last leg of your journey towards Yska. The landscape is grassy and flat most of the morning and by early afternoon you lose sight of the Grim Hills. Towards the end of the afternoon though the landscape changes and the ground begins to slowly rise. You begin to see trees again as the grassy plain begins to gives way.
DMNote: Your still a half days ride from Yska, do you want to press on into the evening? Also I will send a direct message with specific game mechanics of what’s in the notebook.
Gobber sighs, "I guess this land is still too foreign to me. I can't believe I almost got mauled by that animal."
Gobber turns to Healer and Angie, "What did you mean by when you said that this land is not as strange as before? Did something happen during the night?"
Angie listens to Healer thoughtfully then explains, "For me it feels a little different. Since I got here I have felt like there was a barrier between me and the divine power from which I get my strength. Now it feels as though the barrier has been removed and the divine light is once again shining down on me." She smiles beatifically.
"It feels like the rays of a thousand suns brightening your soul. It is the feeling of being held safe in your mother's arms as an infant and hearing her whisper her love and adoration into your tiny ear. It is like having sex with a god." Angie smirks. "It's pretty good."
"I am confidant I do not have a soul. My mother was the master forge. It did not have arms. I do not have ears of any size. I also lack reproductive organs. My kin are gender-less, and can not reproduce. It appears I may never understand this feeling you speak of. Unfortunate."
A single tear falls from Angie's face but her smile never waivers, "Oh, Healer. That is so sad. But take heart, there are gods for everything. There are gods of streams, gods of the dawn, even gods of abstract concepts such as love and vengeance. I'm sure that there is a god out there somewhere who loves you, it may just be one of the ones less interested in souls." She shrugs. "Those gods are ok too, but not as sexy."
Meanwhile, Angie has been preparing herself to hurl another guiding bolt at the beast. With a flick of her wrist she releases it.

Healer looks around quizzically.
"The natural world feels different here. It feels strong."
Healer finds a place to sit. He pulls the small book of herb lore from his pack and begins reading.

"It is strange. As if the land has a spirit of it's own. More so then our home."

"Interesting. I know nothing of divine light. What does that feel like?"
