Angie smiles at the Giant. "Is Barkbull your name? It is quit lovely." She gestures to herself. "I am Angie, and these are my companions, Healer, Gobbin, and Thokein" As she names her companions she points to them in turn. "I know a bit of music." She whistles a quick simple melody. "Would you like me to whistle a bit more?"
(In giant) "It is mid morning, friend. You have either slept long or not much at all. Do you know anything about the stone over there?" Thokein points toward the rock with the vines
Barkbull raises his clawed fingers to his chin and scratches as if deep in thought, ”Stein? Barkbull no vita stein.”
At this revelation you turn to the meadow to look for the dwarven stone and find it is no longer where you once found it.
“Barkbull vita snemt du musikk. Barkbull hversdagliga svefn tre ar. Du musikk Barkbull,” he says as he points to you all.
[ Thokein and Healer you understand this as: “I (Barkbull) usually sleep for three years, but woke early because of your music. I like music, so you should all play someting for me.” ]
"He wants a song? I think I got one he might like." With that Angie starts to sing a tune she heard, slightly modified to better fit the circumstances.
"Sun is shinin' in the sky There ain't a cloud in sight It's stopped rainin' everybody's in a play And don't you know It's a beautiful new day, hey hey
Runnin' down the trails and paths See how the sun shines brightly in the forest On the trails that once were poorest Mister Barkbull is living here today, hey hey
Mister Bark please tell us why You had to hide away for so long (so long) Where did we go wrong?
Mister Bark please tell us why You had to hide away for so long (so long) Where did we go wrong?
Hey you with the pretty face Welcome to the giant's race A celebration, mister Barkbull's up there waitin' And today is the day we've waited for
Oh mister Barkbull tell us why You had to hide away for so long so long Where did we go wrong?
Hey there mister Bark We're so pleased to be with you Look around see what you do Everybody smiles at you"
Barkbull looks at you thoughtfully (Thokein) then reaches down and plucks a large broad leaf from a nearby fern. He wets his lips (and tusks in the process), places the fern between his palms, then raises the fern to his mouth and blows a few short notes from it.
He reaches down again and plucks a large blade of grass. Handing it to you with a toothy grin (which is slightly disturbing to behold), he says, “Musikk!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Maat! Maat!” Barkbull exclaims as he claps his hands together happily. With another hideous grin, he reaches into a worn leather pouch at his belt and pulls out a sprig of mistletoe. He makes a fist and crushes the mistletoe while grunting, “Maatbaer! Haho.. Mmmm... baer...” as he finishes saying this he opens his palm and instead of seeing a wet pulpy mash as you would expect you see he has cast goodberry. Barkbull takes the 4 delicious looking berries and hands them to Angie, then points to the rest of you and says, “Du musikk!”
Barkbull covers his ears with his hands and growls, “Arghh.. Thokein no musikk.. no!” He reaches over to you and plucks the grass right out of your hands. “Thokien sund bikube.. ha..ho..” he laughs as he reaches into his pouch again and pulls out a seed pod.
[Those of you who speak giant understand Barkbull’s insult to mean “yousoundlikeabeehive”.]
Barkbull shakes the seed pod and it makes a rattling sound like rain on a tin roof. “DumusikkThokein,” he says as he passes you the new instrument. He then points at Healer and Gobber and says, “Du musikk!”
“Ahh.. maat Thokein.. maat,” Barkbull responds gleefully. He points at the seed pod and says, “Du.” You assume this means you can keep the seed pod. He then stifles another giant yawn and leans back against the tree, “Gobbler.. Healer.. du?”
"Thank you, friend. I will treasure it. I understand you are still tired, but before you return to your sleep, is there anything you can tell us of the curse or strange magic, or whatever it is, that lies on this forest?"
Barkbull looks almost frightened at the mention of the word curse, but the worry on his face disappears in a flash as he responds to you in giant speak, “You look like powerful adventurers! Maybe you could help Elmtounge! Poor Elmtounge, she was always so nice to everyone in Wildheart, but the bad wizard hurt her and now everyone in Wildheart is sad.”
Barkbull replies in giant, “Elmtounge? Why she was the forests guardian appointed by Enkin himself to watch over Wildheart. She used to love to turn into a green dragon and wander her territory. She was benevolent and it saddens me that anyone would want to hurt her for malpurpose” Barkbull sighs.
”Aroommm.. ahh..” Strange sounds leave Barkbull’s throat as he yawns and stretches once more.
He sleepily says in giant...
For all there is to wonder
how the beard grew and the treasures he spread.
He who did things others could not believe
The trails to Runvid’s cairn Coldhammer lead.
With that he leans back against the tree and begins snoring loudly seemingly already back under a deep sleep.
Gobber sighs as the giant falls back asleep. Gobber was shocked to see a large creature sleeping near a tree, only to be surprised again by his teammates' amazing musical talents.
"......Truly a sight to behold......no.... a moment to hear. You guys are quite talented. T'was music to ma ears. Almost as good as the bard we heard sing. Come! A tune for us all."
Gobber fixs his throat before he recites a poem
"Ahem.....
The day we met
The night slept
The adventures begins with a melodious tune
For the honor and stories we come to tell soon
Our story starts with a group of strangers who barely knows each other
Thrown into a place where our kind isn't welcomed by another
Ambushed by a wildcat
Ended the night with a victorious combat
As Gobber finishes he runs out of ideas of what to say.
Barkbull seems to smile, a toothy grin forming on his face whilst he sleeps.
A tiny green tendril parts the soil and sprouts out of the ground right at Gobber’s feet. The tendril quickly shoots up, sprouts leaves, and then a fully grown flower. You are all taken a back by the speed at which this flower just grew and surmise that giants (at least this variety) here in Trudvang are very different to those of your home world.
