Gaelin will stand still for a moment then smile and say "Wanna go for a ride now so I can dry off?" After the ride or more chit chat Gaelin will make his way to his quarters and go to sleep.
(Aryn you can spend both Jin and Zin's portion for the remaining balance)
Jinara, coming back from this encounter, recluses himself to the tower for the next couple of days only coming out for food and sleep in his quarters. Through his interactions with Valeera and the meeting of Zayrag, he is quickly realizing that he knows less about dragons than he had previously thought. He chalked up his telekinesis as a bit of luck from Davara, which led him to try and research more on dragons. As he contemplates his strategy, he goes to locate the arcanist (I don't remember a name for him/her so I am going to call her Iris unless you have a name already). Jinara approaches Iris "My dear Iris. Do we have any books or materials about dragons?" He begins to pace rubbing the back of his neck under where his translucent bronze scales reside, but are typically covered. Jinara begins to ramble a bit to Iris but the cohesion of his speech is broken by him mumbling under his breath. "When I was at the temple....(inaudible)...I only thought bronze....(inaudible)...the Valeera! Just thought she was a different shade, but...(inaudible)...then Zayrag! Are there more?!? I have to know! I need to prepare... WE NEED to prepare! Quick let's get started on upgrading the tower. Here while you are finding books here are the funds to begin the upgrade." Jinara reaches inside his cloak and drops his coin pouch (3,000 GP) on Iris' desk. (he will wait for response, but will be here reading anything/everything and helping with the upgrades)
Zinmaer accompany Mucor and Aryn to the grove, but would keep to himself a bit and take in the beauty before traveling back and forth between the keep and his wooden perch. Zin will contemplate his role in this new life he has found. Over a few days, he comes to realize that he wants castle daybreak to be monastery wherein he can help train other monks from around Eraas (not sure if this is what Elliott wants, but I feel bad that he does not have much at this point. I'm not sure how much or how long, but I will work to set this up).
Aryn will pay off the remaining debt for the construction costs. She will spend a couple days teaching Button and speaking with Valeera. She will train the Archer army groups and use the captain's ability to upgrade the Green, medium archers to Regular. She will then check on the status of the Smithy upgrade.
(@Aryn-122 days left on castle, 3 days on smithy, 38 days on tower)
Iris informs you there are a few books on dragons here in the tower and she directs you to them. There is Iune's Fall- creation of Tiamat and Bahamut, Chromatic Dragonflight- Death Incarnate & The Seven Canaries- Bahumat's Journey. She jumps slightly as you slam the pouch of coin on the table and says, "It will be arranged."
(Cost for Monastery (class specific establishment) is 6,000 gold and takes 90 days to create. At 1st level it allows Zinmaer to choose one of the options below. Each option can only be done once until he takes an extended rest, spending a week at the Castle, unless otherwise noted.)
Monastery options:
As a bonus action on your turn you cause your skin to become like diamond and take no damage except pyschic until initiative count 20
You use your bonus action to make 8 unarmed attacks against a single enemy adjacent to you.
You use a bonus action to regain all ki points immediately.
While you have ki points remaining you can use a bonus action to ignore an attack's effect and only take the attack's damage. You can do this a number of times equal to your Castle level.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Two days pass and word begins to spread of the Light Bringers who slayed the ferocious white dragon Zayrag and saved the town of Thorpe from goblin invaders. As you sit eating lunch Inara enters the dining hall with Geo. She greets you and commends you on your work you’ve done at the castle and abroad. She sits down at the table with you, her face takes a serious demeanor and she says, “We have been studying the structure in the mine. It appears to be a beacon of some sort that harnesses magical energy through the blood of others. Other than that we have yet to determine its purpose.” She pauses showing her frustration at this development before continuing.
“The southern and eastern fronts are at a stand still now that the east has been able to setup fortifications. However, we don’t know how many groups of orcs or undead have made it behind the lines before they were set. This is where your group comes in. We want you to be a quick reactionary force to any report of Drekthar forces. Your druid should be able to create a portal within a few miles of any location that is near a forest. I know you are capable of handling much more but until we defeat the enemies within our territory, we will be vulnerable. It is the wish of the Elanaetas that you stay at your castle indefinitely. However, should any town or city come under siege or have need of your services, you are free to help. We just ask that you make a hasty return to the Castle should Drekthar forces appear.”
Inara gets up from the table and says, “Word is spreading of your group. We have more refugees and followers who wish to join your cause.”
(OOC: DAMN IT! First a farmer and now some boring old soldiers :D I mean at least they are heavy infantry so they have a little in common with the minotaur :D also are we supposed to be keeping track of our extra recruits? )
(Oh snap! A werebear? Is it going to be my bodyguard?)
(On another note, I believe there is one more chunk of Mithral and maybe some leftovers from Aryn's & Zinmaer's projects. If it's okay with the group I'd like to see if the blacksmith can create a Mithral breastplate for Valeera & potentially the griffons as well to add to their AC?)
(@Aryn-Yes you can name it, It will be able to grow to small size and CR 1. Color description below.)
(@Mucor- sorry, nothing I can do about the dice. Maybe I'll go in reverse order next time. You do not need to keep track of your farmer or army groups.)
(@Gaelin- The werebear, unlike Valeera will be restricted to the Castle for the most part, since he is considered cursed with lycanthropy.)
Inara leads you outside to the outer courtyard where you see two infantry army groups, various peasants a large tent and 5 war ravaged griffons. Inara introduces you to the army groups and you direct them to the captain who takes charge of them and leads them to the barracks. The peasants are given tasks and supplies and disperse. You come across the griffons who seem to have multiple cuts, puncture wounds and a couple with burns. Inara places her hand on Gaelin and motions to his staff, Gaelin expends 5 charges of his staff to do Mass Cure Wounds and the griffons wounds quickly begin to heal. The griffons perk up a bit but remain grounded tired from their wounds and the journey here. Inara then looks to Jinara and says, "These are your charge. Gaelin, Mucor and Herbert will aid you in healing them until their back to form. It is up to you to maintain and train them so they might aid you and your group in the future." then turning to Mucor and Zinmaer, "Make sure you help in the training of these creatures. They require great discipline. Stay here with Jinara and help calm them. They've had an arduous journey here."
Inara then takes Gaelin and Aryn aside and leads them into the tent. On a stretcher lies a large humanoid with the face and fur of a bear, you recognize it as the werebear from the Duke's mansion. Its body is covered in wounds that reek of infection and its chest heaves slowly with each breath. In a corner on the opposite side of the tent sits a small cage with a cushion holding a sleeping curled up miniature dragon. The black pseudodragon is roughly the size of a kitten and has purplish blue streaks across its wings and down its spine. It jerks and props its head up hearing you enter and reflexively broadens it body to make it look more fearsome before it slowly slouches forward and collapses onto the cushion, exhausted. It breathes quickly and heavily as it stares up at Aryn afraid, expecting pain or death. Inara speaks softly to it and you see its breathing slow but the eyes stay locked on Aryn. Inara approaches Gaelin and says, "The werebear was injured at the front and has a nasty infection that will need to be cured. He will protect you and this castle as an invaluable ally once he returns to full strength. Many fear the werebears due to the sadistic nature of the tiger and wolf lycanthropes but werebears posses an ability to control their curse and use it for good. The dragon seems to have taken an affinity to Aryn. It has survived death but just barely. You will need to heal it but I wouldn't recommend attempting to touch it today. It has a powerful sting even for its size. Help Aryn gain the trust of this creature and she will have a loyal friend for life."
Jinara & Aryn: Animal Handling checks with advantage!
(@Gaelin- I don't care what you do with the extra Mithral. Heal my damn dragon! Poor thing.)
Animal Handling: 11
Aryn will listen intently to Inara and look expectantly at her brother... Once he heals the dragon she will slowly apprach and pull out some venison jerky from her pack and offer it to the dragon.
As Gaelan and Aryn make their way into the tent, Mucor will look to the griffons and then to Jinara. Mucor would walk over to Jinara and place his hand on his shoulder. Casting Guidance he will smile to his companion. You will be fine... just let them know you are here to help them. The minotaur would then step to the side and cast Speak with Animals on himself as glowing light radiates from his staff and swirls into the minotaurs mouth for a brief second. "I am here to help you Jinara if you need assistance.... I also possess spells that might calm the griffons down if things go badly... so ya know... no pressure" He would say with a snort and a smile.
"Thank you for your trust in us. I will make sure my sister takes good care of this creature... though I doubt I'll need to." Gaelin says as he watches his sister instantly fall in love with her new pet.
(I'll allow it this time, that is typically where I draw the line on meta. Since were not in combat I'll let it slide not to mention the DC was 10. It's a CR 1/4 creature as opposed to a CR 6 dragon or CR 2 Griffon.)
Aryn- As the wave of healing energy cascades over the dragon you see it perk up and nimbly get to its feet standing upright. It flaps its wings stretching and watches keenly as Aryn approaches with food. Its tail quickly curls up over its head and prepares to strike. Aryn stops her movement and very slowly moves the jerky into the cage. The dragon tentatively leans forward and sniffs the meat. it jerks back as Aryn's hand twitches and raises its barbed tail higher then slowly creeps back and bites the meat out of your fingers and curls in the back corner of the cage. It devours the meat and slowly moves towards your still fingers and rubs its head against them. Aryn you hear a soft female voice in your head say, "Thank you... More?" and an image of the piece of meat is imprinted in your mind. You look around to see if anyone else hears the voice and Inara smiles as shes says, "They can't speak through normal means. Instead they communicate telepathically only with those they wish to." You turn back to the cage and hand another piece of meat to the dragon who quickly gobbles it down. You see the image of an open cage in your mind and open the cage. The tiny dragon flies up onto your shoulder and you feel the tiny claws kneed your armor as it nestles itself in the crook of your collarbone against you neck and begins to sleep.
Gaelin- The werebear's eyes open slowly as the red & black patches of infection disappear and wounds begin to close. He is still too exhausted and tired to rise but looks up at you and says in a deep dry voice, "Thank you." His eyes flutter closed as he returns to a deep slumber.
(I read back through and changed my post because I realized that Mucor would not have known what was going on in the tent. It sounds like the guidance wouldn't have mattered anyway. He would have used it on Jinara as posted above though if that is cool)
(O.o) I have embraced my inner Mucor :D I want the trinket necklace from Critical role... I don't care how much it costs or how long it takes.)
Aryn will rub the tiny dragon and slowly make her way out of the tent. As she passes her brother she whispers, "Don't mess this up." then smile and walk out.
Gaelin will stand still for a moment then smile and say "Wanna go for a ride now so I can dry off?" After the ride or more chit chat Gaelin will make his way to his quarters and go to sleep.

(Yes! Can I name it whatever I want? What color is it? Can it get bigger or does it just stay the same? Either is fine, just wanted to know.)
