"Hey buddy" the minotaur will say from on top of his horse. "Grab a horse and mount up, Jesse provided us an important task to take care of, it involves killing more of the enemy force that attacked us last night... I can fill you in with more details if you like " Mucor would say scratching a patch of fur near his new armor while looking to the aasimar.
Yera meets up with the rest of her companions at the stables. The morning sun rises up into the air and you know it will be mid day in a little over an hour. Mucor explains the situation to Gabriel and he is fitted for a saddle and horse. The stable master looks over to the group and says, "Looks like you're all set. Let me know if you need anything else before ya leave"
Yera gives the stablemaster an appriciative look and says, "Thanks for the help, friend, we'll get these guys right back to ya." She pats the side of her horse. "Well guys" She addresses the group, "Let's head on out" Mounting her horse, Yera rides out of the stables and waits for the rest of the party at the north gate.
when yera arrives at the gate, she sees a very angry very impatient kenku on-top of a giant frog. the pair known as Grunting and Gump. currently they both look very pissed and one s screaming... guess which. "KAAWWW! KAAAWWW!! KAWW KAWW KAWWWW!!! KAWW! KAW KAW KAW KAW KAW!!!!!!!" (I've stood here here for *** hours waiting for you *** to get some *** *** horses! how long does it *** take to get some *** *** *** HORSES!?)
Seeing her ally ready and rearing to go made her smile. "Sorry for keeping you waiting" Yera said with a laugh, "Just have to make sure we're prepared. The others will be right out." While waiting for the rest, she tries to make small talk with the kenku about Gump, trying to lighten his mood.
Mucor would proceed to inform Gabriel about everything Jesse said about their task while slowly guiding his horse towards the others ready to leave town. As he approaches Yera and Grunting he would give them both a smile and wave, looking rather proud of himself in his shiny armor.
Flicking the reigns to nudge his horse closer toward Gabriel, Quentin gives him an easy gesture of welcome and begins explaining their task as succinctly as he can.
"Ay' there Gabriel." The rogue doesn't question or comment at all about the cleric's time alone, "Mr. Duke done told us a lil bout whats goin on round these parts, and I reckon I'll fill ya in on the speculative details soon nuff. Appears t' involve some thangs maybe catch yer interest, Vaeril worship n' dark magics n' such. Fer now though, the last of em' bastards what attacked the town yes'day are held up in a pair o' caves nearby like, sumthin like two Orgres, ten Orcs an' five Goblins. Duke done offered two-hunnerd gold fer each o' us fer layin' em' low o'er the course o' three days. After that, reinforcement-types are comin round' to help secure the yonder countryside, on account o' Riverwood's 'portance t' the kingdom."
Quentin sighed slightly, looking slightly perturbed with himself. "I tell ya' Gabriel, was on the tip o' my tongue t'ask that guard fer more gold. Fella let slip how 'vitally 'portant' this was, an' I had em' right there by the short n' curlies, an' I didn't say nuthin cause his damn passion t'protect his people got t' me. I'm gettin' soft Gabriel, sure nuff."
(I feel like Quinten transformed from a slick rogue into a cowboy... did daisy duke do this to you? did you run and slide across the saddle of your horse before mounting it?)
Gabriel nods in appreciation of Quentin and Mucor's efforts to acquaint him with the situation. "Cut off the undead threat at the source, the dragons head, as they say, and the body will soon follow. This is a wise course of action. " He pauses, as if unsure whether to say more. "I have been distant, of late, and in the wilderness a party divided against itself will not survive long. You have my oath that where one blade is raised in combat, my axe will fall beside it. " He spits on the blade of his axe. "Vaeril and his minions will fall before divine justice. "
(He's definitely a cowboy/rogue mix, but the imagery of him on a horse definitely lends itself to a more cowboy-oriented visual. And yes, he absolutely did the saddle slide. Be sacrilegious not to. I was watching Tombstone when I came up with the character, so... yeah lol.)
Still full from your large breakfast the morning sun nears the top of the sky. You say your goodbyes to the locals as some have come out to give thanks and wave shouting blessings and encouragement. With Gabriel's final exclamation, you set off towards your goal. Who will lead this expedition? (Make a survival check with advantage for the map assuming Quentin shares it)
"Don't worry about it friend, no need to apologize for needing a little time to yourself" the minotaur will say leaning over in his saddle and giving the aasimar a hard slap on the shoulder.
Quentin gladly shares the map with any who wishes to peruse it, and if the party's guide wishes to hold onto it themselves he will relinquish it without any issue. Otherwise he rides along near the middle of the group, keeping pace with his companions.
"Good morrow, friends. What is your business at the stables? " Gabriel hails his companions.

Yera expresses her interest, but, alas, her funds are insufficient. She'll remember to come back when she has the coin.
The halfling takes her leave and searches for her companions.

"If someone would fill me in on the situation at hand I would be much appreciative. " Gabriel says, mounting a black stallion.

Yera, overhearing Quentin talk about how he should have asked Jesse to raise the bounty added, "You know what that's called? Growth. You're learning."
