"Do you want to question the extremely powerful dragon because I don't want to? If she wants to go there, I say we do that. I have enough to teleport us there and back here." Gaelin replies thinking they were still on thin ice.
Unless Jinara is insistent on Inara coming here he will turn back to the rest of the group and say, "We'll be right back." and use his 7th level slot to cast teleport on himself Jinara and Hazilegosa to go to the grove.
Mucor would give the green snake a quick pat on the head as the green flames on his body flicker out. "I guess not all dragons are as nice at Valeera." Mucor would whisper quietly to Aryn as he keeps his eye on the now female form.
Rather than reply Torq would just nod in recognition of Gaelin's announcement. AS soon as they disappear he'd collect the twins and walk over to the others. "Mucor, are you alright? Where do you think they went?"
Gaelin and Jinara- you disappear in a flash of light and reappear in a small field within the grove. A few hundred feet away you see the towering tree peppered with portals that have various druids walking through them. Two druid guards notice your arrival and make their way towards you. Once they get within 20 or so feet their pace slows as they recognize Gaelin and Jinara. Hazilegosa bows to the two guards and humbly requests an audience with Inara. The guards nod and escort you to one of the many nearby gardens informing you Inara will arrive shortly. As you make your way through the garden you recognize the tall ancient stone structure covered in ivy. As you enter Hazilegosa mutters, "Ah the Perennial Citadel. It's held up quite well for its age." and walks around smelling the numerous blooms along the walls.
A few minutes pass in awkward silence as you wait for Inara before she walks through the southern entrance. "Gaelin, Jinara! I trust you are well. What seems to be..." her voice trails off as she notices Hazilegosa who is in the process of sniffing a flower on the opposite side of the structure. She turns her head slightly a smile across her face, either from the fragrance or the arrival of Inara and says, "Hello Inara. You may not remember me..." "Hazel? Is that really you? We thought you had perished in you confrontation with Neltharion." Inara says in surprise. "It appears I was transformed to stone. Not petrified like those medusas in the south would do, but according to this youngling, you call Gaelin, I was polymorphed into a stone tablet of sorts." "That sounds dreadful. It would explain the lack of evidence of your body. We searched for years for any trace of it. We feared... you had been consumed like some of the others." Inara replies, her face bearing a mix of concern and excitement. "Ha, he was too prideful for that. If what this one says is true, I was probably part of some conceited collection. So is it true then? Neltharion was banished by Bahamut to the Shadowfel plane? And, this one smells eerily like my youngest offspring yet has the body of a mortal. Are you aware of such things?" Hazilegosa asks. This conversation takes you off guard as it appears more like two old acquaintances catching up than the vastly important fact finding mission the ancient gold dragon was literally about to kill you over. You stand mouth partially agape as they continue on and Inara explains the battle of the cataclysm and its end when Bahamut channeled his power into four pillars that helped secure Neltharion's banishment to the shadowfel plane.
They both turn and look at the two of you remembering you were present and they giggle at your expressions returning to the conversation. "I was unaware he had this revelation of his heritage. Yes, Jinara is the divine reincarnation of your son Seregos. Davara saw the great power and courage he portrayed attacking Neltharion and Raikyrth after they slew Viryngos. Though he eventually fell to Nelhtarion's might, Seregos proved himself as one of the best fighters managing to kill Raikyrth and even damage Neltharion despite being outnumbered. Both your sons fought valiantly Hazel. I'm sure the others are happy to know of your health." Inara says with a smile. "They don't know. I've only just come back. How long has it been Inara? How long has Eraas been safe from the guise of Neltharion and Vaeril?""It's been over 9000 years since you were missing... Vaeril still threatens Eraas and I fear he grows closer and closer to returning. He nearly returned to the material plane a few hundred years ago through the work of his followers but they were stopped by the Seven. Then again 5 years ago another plan was hatched that caused a worldwide war to rage across both continents. Hundreds of thousands perished until your son and his friends managed to stop it." "Does that include the bumbling druid with the green flames?" Hazilegosa says with a chuckle. "Mucor?" Inara asks with a grin. "I believe that was his name, yes." Hazilegosa replies. "You didn't kill him did you?""No, apparently he's pretty sturdy." They share a laugh and look over to you two again. "I suppose you two were telling the truth. Seregos. Thank you for avenging your brother."Hazilegosa says with a sincere look of appreciation and walks over to Jinara and plants a kiss on his forehead and slowly holds out her arms for an embrace.
Aryn, Mucor & Torq- There's a tense few moments of silence as the realization of what just happened passes. Epos and the other archivists look over to your group in mixed awe and confusion. "This must be recorded in the annals." Epos says and looks over to a pair of archivist who conjure arcane utensils and begin making notes while Epos dictates them.
"Thank you mother. We are glad to have your trust. Inara, it is good to see you again. I am glad that you are friends with my mother. To catch you up since we last saw you, we have discovered that the pillars exist, except the one representing earth. it has been destroyed. Our guess is that is why we discovered an avatar of Neltharion in our travels." Jinara says with a modicum of respite in his voice knowing that his mother expressed a bit of trust.
Gaelin would be dumbstruck at the light hearted convo between the two powerful women. He’d try to compose himself then make a mental note to always ask the druids.
"I suppose it is good that I am sturdy" Mucor would whisper to Aryn and Torq. "Although... I don't know that attempted murder is all that funny.." He would add with a snort as he crosses his arms.
Gaelin & Jinara- "I see. These pillars you speak of... I assume they are the four large crystals Bahamut was searching for. It is good he was able to find them and use them. However the goal should always be to rid all planes of Neltharion. There is no time to waste. Inara, would you be willing to accompany us back to... Where were we again?" she asks. You pipe in softly "Sonas" and she continues. "Sonas. I believe you can shed some more light on that has happened over the past 9000 years." "I am at your service ." Inara replies with a small bow of the head. Hazilegosa turns and looks expectantly at Gaelin who quickly comes forward and casts teleport again. You vanish in a flash of light, feeling your stomachs lurch slightly from the magical transportation then reappear back in the same spot as before.
Aryn, Mucor and Torq- As you converse atop the empty mountain and wait for your friends return you see Epos approach once more. "Much time has passed. While we are appreciative of this miraculous event, we are troubled by their delayed return." (It's been 20 minutes.) Before you can reply you see a shimmer and flash of light as four individuals appear on the mountainside. Gaelin, Jinara, Hazilegosa and Inara stand looking around them for a second as they catch their bearings before spotting you. Hazilegosa and Inara wave you all over and you hear Epos exclaim, "Thank Bahamut, they're back." and toddle forward like a groupie towards their favorite band.
Everyone- Epos and the other archivists all rush towards the foursome and Hazilegosa turns to Inara cocking her head slightly. "So who are these creatures? How did they come to be? They smell and look similar to chromatic wyrmlings but mixed with a human's mannerisms." Inara smiles and admits, "During the great battle, which many refer to as the cataclysm, thousands of dragons fought and died alongside the gods. The amount of magic expelled during the battle and left over from the countless remains changed the landscape and created a new species from the reptiles that roamed the island, the dragonborn. At first we thought the creature's mutation would render them sterile, but as you can see they have flourished. Many of them bear the semblance of chromatic colors simply due to the fact that metallic dragons bodies take much longer to decay. The Elanaetas have watched this species closely to see if they bear the same evil nature as the chromatic dragons but found them to be more similar to the rest of humanity. There may be some who have evil intentions but the race as a whole is not inherently evil." "I see... it would be foolish to think the world wouldn't change over such a long time. Mucor. I, apologize for my outburst earlier. Surely you can forgive an old dragon who's been trapped for over 9000 years for being a bit frazzled."Hazilegosa says with a sweet smile upon Mucor's approach. All the archivists listen intently and have their heads bowed low. Epos takes a small step forward and asks, "Madame, Hazilegosa, we are grateful for your presence. If there is anyway we can be of service..." "Thank you. I believe everything I require is taken care of at present. Now, I think it may be best to contact Bahamut and inform him of my return." she says somewhat dismissively and closes her eyes for a moment. Her eyes open and she smiles. "You are all in luck. For today you shall see the platinum dragon. He will arrive within the hour. Seregos, dear... what have you been up to all these years? How long have you been like this?" at those words the archivist and Epos fall to their knees.
Mucor would nod towards the dragon and give a small smile. "No need to apologize. It was not the first time I have been engulfed in flames, and I am sure it won't be the last." He would reply as a tiny green flamed snake pops its head out from Mucor's sleeve before disappearing beneath the leather armor.
knowledge of bahamut roll. 19 (I am surprised... I was actually very surprised when I looked at my sheet and realized I have a plus 6 for religion.)
When Hazilegosa mentions another dragon showing up, mucor would rub his forehead as though he were getting a headache. "Another dragon... I didn't know there were so many dragons.. I hope I can keep all these new names straight." he would mutter quietly to himself. He would repeat the name "Bahamut" a few times as though trying to memorize it quickly before his eyes grew wide. "Wait.. you mean... THEE Bahamut is coming? Here? He is a diety... I mean... people warship him!" The elf would say a little louder than he had expected. "Clerics warship dieties all their lives and some of them never actually meet the being they are praying to....." Mucor would add with a snort as a worried expression flashes across his face. "Do.. do you think I need to start praying to him now... really quickly? before he shows up?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aryn would look at Mucor then to Hazilegosa and if she thought she was angry she'd take a step away from him not wanting to get burned. She'd try to change the subject a bit. "Hazilegosa, are you aware where the pillars are hidden? Or do you know of a Mage named Antonidus?".
"It seems you and I are on similar wave lengths mother. I befriended a believer of Bahumat to that end. I believe he would be willing to aid if we need it. I've been in this form for a number of decades. Between my falling in battle until then, I have no knowledge of where I was. Blessings to Davara who returned me to this world in the form you see. For the past few years, I have been a member of the Lightbringers. Together we have played roles in various ways that have saved Eraas in many ways from demise. Beyond that, I have honed my innate connection to magic through my draconic ancestry to intertwine with that of the divine nature of myself as you see me now. This has opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities." Jinara says with excitement in his voice.
Gaelin will listen closely to the backstory of the dragonborn origins and smile when Mucor speaks. Bahamut, he thought to himself. Who would've thought they were about to see the dragon god himself. Valeera should be here to see it too he thought. He'd quickly send a message to Herbert. "Herbert, we're on the mountainside of Sonas with Inara. Is there anyway you could get Valeera here in the next few minutes?" Then he'd think about what he just said. Inara is here, maybe she can help. Then he'd turn to Inara and say, "It would be great if Valeera could be here with us. Is there anything we can do? I can create a circle for us to teleport back to the castle but it takes a minute for me to draw and I can't get us back here."
(@ Mucor-The area around you is relatively bare. The closest trees appear to be about 1000 feet away to the southeast. If you want to head that way you definitely can.)
Gaelin- Herbert's voice breaks into your mind and says, "I will endeavor to try. If you are with Inara I should be able to get your approximate location." About that time you see Inara blink rapidly a few times and turn towards the nearest forest.
Hazilegosa smiles and says with a chuckle, "Yes, he is coming. I don't think that will be necessary." she says looking at Mucor with a slightly confused expression then turning to Jinara "He is quite interested in you as well Seregos. Lightbringers... A fitting name I suppose. I am glad you are well and kept your fighting spirit. Now tell me, do you have a mate? Offspring perhaps?" she prods as any mother would upon seeing their son after a long absence.
Mucor- Inara notices you looking in the same direction and places a soft hand on his shoulder then points to his staff. "Think you could plant that right over here." She says motioning to a spot about 20 feet away.
Mucor would smile and roll his eyes a bit. "Yes, that would be much easier." The elf would say with a snort... "I was so busy thinking about dragons I forgot about the ability of this staff." he would add as he plants the staff into the ground at the suggested spot and says the command word. A moment later a large sprawling tree would shoot up from the staff, sending branches stretching towards the sky. Leaves would then rapidly sprout from the finger - like branches before the tree settles into position with a light creaking sound.
Even Torq (whom I assume is the furthest away from us) can see Jinara pale face become very flush with embarrassment as his mother asks his this personal question. His eyes dart around nervously as if he is trying to see if anyone can read him. Catching Gaelin's eyes, Aryn's eyes, Mucor's eyes, Cedany's eyes, Kelgos' eyes, before catching Iris' eyes for an extra moment longer than the rest (imagine a 13 year old voice who has his first crush and not want his mother to ask about it in public) "Moommmm....(clear throat) I currently have no offspring, but can we discuss the intricacies of my personal life when the entire dragonborn race is not standing behind us?" "These individuals have been like family to me over the last few years. We have been through many emotions that have created ties and bonds that run deep. The Lightbringers focused my fighting spirit toward the right enemies, not just the vengeful ones. i do not know where I would be without meeting them."
