"Dang it..." Bala will let out a quiet hiss as he goes to reach for his hand again, slowly pulling off the second ring. (Does the undead have its back to Bala or is it facing his way?)
Bala, the figure is facing down the hall towards you.
Roux, your second chest contains an ivory hairbrush with silver bristles.
Krolbrik, it takes you a little longer than Ericina and Roux to pop open your chest but when you finally do you open it and see a sword in a plain leather sheath. You draw the blade and trace the intricate silverwork with your finger, it's a silvered shortsword.
"This treasure better be worth it..." Bala grits his teeth and tosses the ring down the hall, gripping his dagger with the opposite hand.(Bala will ready an action granted that makes the undead walk his way.)
Ericina will grow bored as the last chest is open, moving out of the area with the beds and chests to see if she can her favorite of her new friends the "strange cat."
Ericina, after jumping over the pitfall trap in the floor and following in Bala's pawprints, you come across an intersection that reeks of death. On the far side of the intersection is Bala, who is currently standing with his back pressed against the wall of the tunnel. You hear a low groan coming from down the hall on your right.

Ericina will make her way towards him but pauses as she hears the groan, drawing a weapon when she sees the tabaxi with a handcrossbow. If she sees whatever it is he is attacking she will throw the flame that she has been using for light towards it.

Bala, your crossbow bolt strikes true, splitting through the back of the creature's skull. Instead of immediately dropping to the ground, the creature turns around, the bolt sticking out from its glowing left eye. Up close you see its emaciated human-like figure, its fingernails have been whittled down to sharp pointed claws. It gives you a big, wicked smile, showing off its teeth which have been sharpened to points. It lets out a ghoulish scream that echoes throughout this floor, alerting not only your party but the other creatures as well.
Ericina, your light attracts one of the creatures which fills the space behind you but you manage to get your attack off in time as well. It singes the side of the creature's face, burning away its wispy hair and releasing a nasty scent into the air around you as the humanoid flesh burns. (TOTAL: 10)
Noticing the smell Roux will follow where the woman went and cast Fire Bolt at the closest enemy he sees when he is in range. (This will happen when it's his initiative turn)

Krolbrik is examining the silvered etching of the swordsword, admiring the fine etchings and patterns of the silverwork along the blade.
If I had to guess, this was forged by a master, he thought to himself. And in this land, having a silvered weapon wouldn't hurt; it is clear that abominable things lurk here, and procuring this weapon couldn't be happening at a better time.
Deciding to keep hold of the weapon as needed, Krolbrik gives it a slight practice swing in the air, twisting it about with his wrist as he tries to get a feel for the length and heft of the blade; it was lighter and shorter than what he was used to, but a shorter weapon could certainly come in handy in tighter quarters. And with the darkness that had clearly gripped Barovia, Krolbrik reasoned that it certainly wouldn't hurt to have an extra blade on hand in this awful place, especially one with the properties of silver.
When he hears the piercing, un-natural shriek throughout the basement, however, Krolbrik is immediately alert and concerned for the well-being of his companions - especially Aka and the sneak-thief cat man. He quickly sheathes the blade and stows the club hanging off his side into his pack before quickly tying the shortsword's sheath off onto his belt. Krolbrik then starts to make his way towards the intersection of the hall right by the trap with all due haste, his trusty longsword unsheathed and at ready as the paladin clearly ignores the sure amount of noise that his large, chainmail clad form would certainly be making in doing so.

What is that? I'm sure it's nothing.
(Would Aka be able to hear all that? Is he in hearing range?)

Haven’t used this account in forever. Still a big fan of crawling claws.
(According to Trans, this thing screamed loud enough that everything on that floor would hear it.)
(oh, ok. Just wanted to know.)
