Elron goes in the opposite direction that Hosvi took to lead you to the slums, and emerges into the wealthier district. Stopping at one of the largest and grandest residences in the city, he profers the lead to you.
"The Lady Ardidd oversees and regulates trade with the neighboring settlements. The Scorpion has been scaring off the imports which are essential to the welfare of the city, making it of utmost importance that he is removed as soon as possible."
A white cobblestone path winds through a lush garden and ends before the massive double-doors of the Ardidd Mansion. The mansion is constructed entirely of pink-veined marble and towers above you imposingly. A man dressed in a red uniform with gold trim awaits you patiently before the double doors.,
"Welcome." He bows. " Do you wish to freshen up before dinner? "
Elber shifts a little, like he's just stopped himself from saying that their business with the lady of the house is just that: business and not pleasure. But he bites his tongue in case someone else fancies an uncomfortably awkward dinner experience. No doubt the simple courtesies are not so simple in a mansion of this size.
"I fear that unless you have a suitable wardrobe of alternate attire for each of us, then we are about as fresh as we shall be." Landrae smiles politely at the servant, "Should it please your lady, we would proceed straight to the business that Elron here has brought us to address. We have no need to tarry and keep your mistress any longer than necessary. though should she wish to discuss the matter over some food, we shall not object."
Kai notes the deference between this place and the rest of the city he has seen. Outside they live as animals in the forest after a l9ng drought. Predator and prey, neither having enough and fighting for what they can get.
Jack has seen estates like this in the past, but not as an invited guest. He knows that much of this is to impress others and less for functionality.
“We have just come off the road, so we are probably not quite prepared for a white linen tablecloth experience.” as he glances at Elron “Probably want to keep them white for her more esteemed guests.” Jack says with a smile.
Duncan, following along, chuckles at Elber's reproach of the pudgy elf. Though he doesn't really care much to be fancy himself, he does like to be informed so he can consciously decide not to care.

"No, Elron, you might have mislaid that piece of information with the goods that were stolen from you. Now, I for one would certainly love to spend an evening trying on a plethora of fanciful outfits to find which best suits my eyes, so that I can be presentable to your patron... These lovely gentlemen, however, are very practical men and as you can see, they dress the part. Had you wished us all to meet with your seamstress and tailor prior to this, then you should really have factored that in when arranging for us to meet Lardy Ardidd as soon as possible upon her return." Landrae looks down her nose at the chubby elf, then addresses the servant "Show us to Lady Ardidd's study, I am sure she has one, where we will wait on her swift arrival. If she wishes to mix business with dining, then at least let the woman know what she is in for first. Come come, hop to good sir. Time is a wasting."
The bewildered man in red hurries into the mansion and returns several minutes later. "The Lady Ardidd will see you immediately." He bows you into the house and leads you down a red-carpeted corridor. Paintings addorn the walls and vases overflowing with flowers not even in season line the hall. The man knocks twice on a polished oak door, swings it inward, and steps aside.
The study is a relatively simple room, in comparison with the rest of the mansion, with several soft armchairs, a fireplace stylized as a peacock, and a bearskin rug. A tall woman in a blue silk gown resides in one of the armchairs, her face regal and emotionless. She stands at your arrival.
"Welcome to the Ardidd Estate. Would you care for some refreshments?" Without waiting for a reply she snaps her fingers and returns to her armchair. A maid busies herself with preparing tea. Lady Ardidd makes no further moves, but regards you with a practiced and professional eye.
Kai acknowledges her with a small, polite bow. "A cup of good tea, is most appreciated. It is good to partake in nature's bounty, and tea has many restorative and beneficial properties."
Jack looks at Lady Ardidd with a smile, “Thank you, it is a pleasure to make your aquaintence” His mother taught him some level of manners growing up, and he is trying to recall some of his lessons.
Landrae steps forward, noting that Elron has made no move to introduce them, and reasoning that she has probably had more dealings with the nobility - well, face to face dealings at least - than her comrades. Even if they didn't all end well, she adds with a dry humor in her own mind.
"Lady Ardidd," Landrae begins as greets the seated woman with a low curtsy, "thank you for the refreshment and granting us a private audience." Landrae turns to each of her companions in turn "I am not privy to the missive that you would have received pertaining to our appointment through Elron, so may I be so bold as to introduce Kai, Jack, Duncan, and Elber. I am called Landrae. We understand that you have had some hostile negotiations of late with a disreputable counterpart; Elron believed that we may be able to help bring these troubles to a favorable conclusion for yourself."
Elber places a fist against his chest and gives a brief nod of respect. "It be so, we will capture or kill the Scorpion for you. Your knowledge of his activies will aid us in ending this threat."

Duncan will nod to the lady at the mention of his name. And will be doing his best to read the situation and those involved while those better at conversation do the talking.
INSIGHT: 22 ((edit... bah... he knows nothing! lol))
Lady Ardidd waits for the maid to serve the tea and depart before she replies, during which time Elron fidgets nervously. When she speaks her voice is low and measured.
"I have had dealings with your kind before, and if there were an alternative I would never have accepted Elron's suggestion to recruit you. As it is, I must fight fire with fire, and thieves with thieves. Name your price and let us be done with this business. I have matters of great importance to attend to."
Her emotionless tone belies a vehemence which takes you off guard.
Kai raises to follow.

Jack heads to the meeting as well
((ah... I misread last night.)) Duncan will join as well to hear what he'll be up against.

"Elron, whilst we travel, perhaps you would tell us a little about the lady? Is she a noble of the city? A business woman?"
As they walk through the city, Landrae keeps and eye out for and unsavory sort. Perception 9

Elron looks pointedly at your common attire and coughs uncomfortably. "Erm, did I forget to inform you that this was to be a dinner occasion?"

"I worry about the things you forget to tell us. Hopefully the lady does not share this bad habit."
