Nephrius will fall back until she is with the group.

”There are two in brush, whoever is with me come now, we do this quickly”

She then moves back to the goblins following the same route, drawing her short bow ready to release an arrow.

Harukai moves quietly up the east bank of the stream along the edge of the trees, following Nephrius’ lead.

OOC: How thick is the undergrowth where the trees are? Can we get through to the sides of the clearing, or do we need to go around the trees to get to the clearing?

Your stealth is high enough to surprise the goblins so roll attacks for a surprise round. I will roll initative if needed after first this first round. 

With a soundless nod to Nephrius to coordinate their timing and targets, Harukai falls upon the distracted guard like a sudden cloudburst.  Swinging his quarterstaff in both hands at the creature’s head, he follow up with a front snap kick.

Harukai strikes the first goblin squarely with his quarterstaff and attempts to follow with a kick. The kick misses because the goblin has already fallen backward, out of the kick’s reach. It was likely already dead before it even hit the ground. 

OOC: the brush is difficult terrain so just takes more movement speed to transverse. 

GREYSTONE

"My chain mail, while allowing me a great deal of protection, makes a great deal of noise. I will stay back here and prepare to enter the cave while you lot take care of the guards in front of it."

Releasing her bow string on the other goblin in wait, coming out from low in the brush.

"I'll stay here with you Jackson, don't want anyone alone never know what may be out here."

GREYSTONE

"Thank you, Nil. It's good to know I have a new friend in you." Jackson stows his shield on his back and his Warhammer on his waist, pulling out the Shortbow he looted off one of the dead goblins that attacked the cart. It's a bit small, but usable. "I guess now is as good a time as ever to use this."

He takes a breath, readying himself to enter the cave once Neph and Harukai report back.

The second goblin falls from Naphrius’s arrow. You see no other enemies at this time. 

“Nice shot, Nephrius,” whispers Harukai as he begins to loot the body of the dead goblin in front of him.  “Let’s clean up here and move back to the others,” he adds, dragging the body into the undergrowth.

Harukai waits for his companion, then accompanies her back to the rest of the group.

Harukai finds 9 silver and 1 healing potion

"Same for you, you are quick with hands and feet."

Nephrius will watch Harukai and do the same, moving the body out of sight and checking what is on the body. She then goes back to the group quietly with Harukai.

"So which god do you serve Jackson?" Nilparin asks while keeping an eye on the entrance

"Why do you ask, Nil? Are you a religious man?" asks Jackson, eyes continuing to keep watch for any sign of movement at the mouth of the cave.

"Not as much as some, but I do give my lip service to Eldath every blue moon or so"

OOC:  I am assuming we will deal with the coinage later, but someone should carry the healing potion...

Harukai holds up the potion once he returns to the group.  “This appears to be a potion of healing I found on one of the goblins.  Who would like to carry it?”

Jackson quietly chuckles, whispering back to Nil. "Haha ah yes. Makes sense. I, myself, am a cleric of Tyr -- punishing wrongdoers and protecting those in need. There's much more to said about our beliefs, but after many years in service to Tyr, I've learned that all good things come in moderation."

Hearing Harukai on approach, Jackson stands to meet him and finds the monk bearing gifts. "I see the benefits to giving the potion to Nephrius, as she is the quickest and most agile. Should any of us fall -- Tyr forbid -- I see her being the most able to facilitate. 

Harukai bows to Brother Greystone’s wise words, immediately giving the potion to Nephrius.

”The goblin scouts are dealt with,” he informs the group, turning to Nephrius and adding, “I think we are clear to enter the cave now, if you saw no other obstacles to our progress.”

Harukai reddens slightly as he realizes he forgot to check for threats while he was near the cave mouth himself...
