As you make your way down the passage, sloshing through the wading pool, Jarl, you can make out a T-intersection up ahead, just at the edge of your field of vision (about 120 ft). You think you see a moving figure crossing the intersection from left to right. It appears to have a dome-shaped head with four large tentacles beneath it, carrying it through the water. It doesn't give any sign that it sees you.
(OOC: Does Jarl recognize it, and if so (unless it's the aboleth), does he know if that creature should be found in this setting?)
Jarl holds up a hand to stop the others, and motions for silence as well. He leans towards Squiggles. "There's something ahead in the water. Can you send Fluffy to check -- but don't have him get too close to the water, it has some reach with its tentacles."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"What did it look like Jarl? Can you describe it to me?" Squiggles holds up his hand and Fluffy flies back to him. After mentally giving him instructions Fluffy cautiously moves ahead 30 feet at a time, stopping at the top of the cave to listen each time.

Squiggles History check on Jarl's description (2nd roll done in case you want me to have disadvantage on it due to me going off hearsay):
Based on the stories you've heard, Jarl, and the description you got from Rawk, this could well be an aboleth.
Whatever it was moved quickly enough past the intersection that by the time Fluffy gets within sonarshot of the intersection it would likely be well past it.
“That might have been the aboleth Rawk mentioned — I only saw it for a moment. It went to the right, can Fluffy tell if it’s still going, or at least not waiting directly on the other side of the bend?”
Jarl quietly reiterates what he knows of aboleths for the benefit of the newcomers. “You still haven’t told us if there’s anything else you might know about this resonator, if there is any other information that would help us avoid the aboleth as long as possible while trying to find it, that would be most useful.”
"Fluffy couldn't detect anything. We should proceed with utmost caution. As Jarl will attest, Aboleth's are not to be trifled with lightly. Any creature used to scare the drow..."
"You two came along at the wrong time. Could of had a nice meal to help out with what's ahead with this creature." Shale checks to make sure he has all his gear at the ready.
Flynt nods as he follows his companions. "Yes, I have loved animals since I was a hatching. It was unfortunate for my parents as I brought many animals home."
He shakes his head, remembering a question that was asked of him and Celric . "I apologize for not answering the question you asked earlier. The Mabar is a plane of eternal darkness, where deep black grow. It's said that the crystals can be used to channel the darkness of Mabar in the plane it resides in. If it were to fall into the wrong hands, it could be devestating for this world."
"Go on Shale, stick it with your spear and we can all go home." Balian puts his 'big boy pants' on by pulling the hood of his cloak up over his head, partially covering his face as well. The magical properties of the cloak become apparent to the newcomers, as it colors immediately shift and swim to match the surroundings, making the thief significantly harder to make out in the gloom.

Jarl proceeds forward again, keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of movement (Perception: 27). He’lol head to the left if he doesn’t pick up anything dangerous.
You make it to the intersection without seeing or hearing anything much, apart from the occasional drip of water into the pool on the floor. Looking to the left you see a passageway that bends around to the right after 50 ft or so.
You continue down the passage, following it as it twists and turns a couple of times. After a couple of bends, you see the passage opening up slightly ahead of you into a rounded area about 10 ft across. It appears to be a dead end.
"Some use that bat was..." Balian mutters at the rear of the procession, aimed at Squiggles. "Next time you summon a familiar, make it something useful, like a fish. At least then we can eat it, if nothing else."

"All right, fellas. Let's get a move on." Shale quietly urges the group forward. "Time to put your big boy pants on and save the world again."
"That is positively terrifying Flynt, and this is coming from a pyromaniac wearing an invisible phylactery."

Are you continuing down the left passage?

Yes, though if Fluffy wants to take point that’s OK too.

Flynt will continue to follow as well, putting his hands on his sword pommels while keeping his eyes open for any movement
