Somethingabout the way the man spoke leads you to believe he isn't on the up and up, but you can't quite put your finger on it. You don't remember anything about the bands. Once you mention healing, the man's eyes dart back and forth to the others around the room, quickly settling in the tennage girl sitting across from Theos. The girl pauses, then slightly nods at the man.
"As it happens, good priest... We do have sort of an ailment here..." The man says, turning back to Theos. "Dale and roger get the doors. He has friends outside."
The young men walk to the doors, swords drawn.
"We will forgive your deception," the young girl says as she stands. "If you can heal Jakal. Jakal, come out."
Another man steps out of the kitchen. He is shirtless, and wearing one of the iron bands. He is frail. Skin sallow and eyes sunken, just like the others. Trickles of blood run down his arm from the band.
"If you are indeed a priest," the young woman says. "And Uldi is with you, then you should be able to heal him. If not... Well... Oh, and if your friends outside try anything then I need not explain your fate." She motions for Theos to go toward Jakal.
((being close to the cabin, and with a 20+ PERCEPTION, would Liet have heard or seen any of this? Also, what time of day is it? And what type of lighting is inside the cabin? About 60 feet from Ruhkis, you see the man trying to skulk through the trees. Ruhkis appears to not see him yet, but is aware and vigilant. The man also appears not to see anyone either.
You can't see or hear anything from the cabin. It's simply too far away.
It's morning, so there's a soft ambient light, but there are still a couple of candles lit inside the cabin. Light would still come through the windows. Druidcraft probably wouldn't help much.

((Ah... I'd envisioned myself up alongside the cabin. In post #267 I said I'd walk up (quietly) as Theos did, so I could be near in case things went to shit.
I kinda pictured walking up to the side while he approached from the front... Guess that wasn't clear. Maybe I'll just approach with my last action then, since there I also said along the cabin ^^))
You can only hear a few words or phrases, the rest is muffled. But you do hear the word 'deception', and the phrase 'your fate'. And you can tell the tone of the conversation quickly turned to be less jovial.
((No problem~ I'll try to be more clear as well next time ^^ So.. Theos is in the cabin; Liet near it outside; McFuddy in the sky tracking the dude who left; Rhukis in the woods; Nalla also in the woods... Are at least the last two near each other? Everyone else is separate!...))
Liet will, still quietly, head back towards where Nalla and Rhukis are staying low in the woods, just close enough to telepathically whisper to each, in turn "Theos is handling himself, but they may be threatening him. Be alert!" and head back to the cabin hiding under a window where he was previously to continue listening.
If things should sound like they turn violent he's prepared to push the door open, cast a spell, and try to get his friend out
With Liet's warning, Nalla more thoroughly checks her surroundings to find who is watching her, though she doesn't move her body to make a sound. ((Because of Liet's warning, could I get an assist with my Perception roll?))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Theos
Theos sends a quick mental prayer to Uldi ((dice do not fail me)), and then moves towards Jakal. A flicker of worry flashes across Theos's face at the mention of his friends, but then he regains his posture. "I can heal him. Please, have mercy on the men outside. They are friends that I have met on the road. Given recent events, we were very wary of coming here, and asking for help."
Theos then casts healing word on Jakal. "By Uldi's mercy."He whispers as he casts the spell. The spell heals 6 hit points.

Jakal flinches at your approach, but relaxes as the spell washes over him. As wisps of light dance from Theos's fingertips, they wrap around Jakal. They circle around him, slowly at first. The man's face regains color, a deep ruddy complexion. The wisps spin faster and the sunkeness of his eyes disappear. The streaks of light culminate in a vortex around the man, spinning above his head before fading into nothing. He looks completely different. Healthy, in fact.
"Well..." The Young girl says, stepping forward. "That went better than expected..."
Jakal cracks his neck and stretches his arms. "Yeah, boss, I feel great! Hey thanks priest, I owe you one!"
"Alright, who's next?" The girl calls out. The young man that was previously sitting across from Theos stands up quickly and scrambles over to Theos and grabs him by the shoulder.
"Me! Do me now priest!" As the young man speaks, his visage begins to fade. The taught skin grows deep lines. His tan turns pale, eyes sink into their sockets like Jakal's. It was an illusion. "Heal me!" The sickly looking middle aged man, now in rough leather armor instead of common clothes, thrusts out his arm revealing his band. It is wound around his forearm like a serpeant, with barbs embedded deep within his skin and muscle.
"Sure, go ahead." The girl says, waving Theos on to perform his work.
"Hey boss?" Jakal says, a couple paces from Theos. "I don't think..." The man doubles over in pain, gripping his forearm at the iron band. Blood begins to poor from the barbs visibly embedding themselves into his skin even further. Jakal screams out in agony, scratching at the metal, trying to rip it off. He tears into his own flesh, but the barbs dig deeper. His screams continue to echo throughout the house as he thrashes about in a pool of his own blood.
"I knew it was too good to be true..." The girl says, sighing heavily.
Jakal lies motionless but awake on the floor, smeared in red. His arm is a solid deep crimson, like the floor around him. No one speaks as the man lies there, panting. His skin is pale, eyes sunken once again.
Never one to run towards a fight, but also not wanting to abandon his new friend, Liet, after hearing the scream, though still hidden and about ready to run, takes a deep breath, and instead telepathically whispers to Theos "Friend! Do you need help?! Call out to us."
If we are hidden within 120' of the cabin, Ruhkis will cast message to Theos and urgently say, "Do you need help? We heard a scream!" ((Ruhkis won't know anything about Liet's telepathic message so poor Theos is gonna get hit with a couple of mental intrusions. One of us is gonna get a busy signal.))
If we are not within 120', then regrettably Ruhkis will not sit and wait to see what's going on. Assuming the worst, he'll spring up from his hiding place and with axe in hand sprint for the cabin door shouting to Nalla behind him, "Get yer long legs moving, Nalla! Might be our own that's screaming in there!"
Nalla reaches over to Ruhkis with the intent to lightly tap him, though it turns out almost like a punch when she jumps from the scream. Doing her best not to breath heavily with fear, she catches Ruhkis's gaze and then silently points to the forest at the skulking man. She looks back to Ruhkis with fear and obviously asking for his guidance, but giving her hand axes a squeeze to indicate she's ready for battle if that's what needs to be done.
Theos looks at Jakal, in the pool of his own blood. As he moves forward to help the boy, he is hit with a couple of telepathic messages in his head. "I'm not hurt, but there are wounded inside the cabin. Whatever you do, we should not escalate this into a full on fight. Not while I don't have my maces handy. I can probably get one more favor in from Uldi before I'm on my own." Theos replies to Rukhis. ((Does Theos have to say this out loud as well?))
Theos turns back to address the situation at hand. "What are those bands? If I'm to help you, I must know what kind of demon work this is. Then, I'll help all of you, gladly." Theos tries to give a reassuring smile, but there is no conviction behind it. The sight of Jakal has definitely troubled him.
"Hells if I know, priest..." The girl says. A quick shimmer around her face and body and she now looks like another middle aged man, just as unhealthy as Jakal but noticeably shorter. Light leather armor, sword on his hip, balding head as salt and pepper scruff beard. "Art, pick up Jakal and put him on the cot in the kitchen. Blackey, you and your brothers go outside and make sure that the priest's friends don't try anything." Four men, appearances now also changed to road weary vagabonds, jump to do as the short man requests. Three of them head out the door and the other drags Jakal to the next room.
"I'll be honest with you priest, but only if you do two things. You must be honest with me, and you must do as you say and try to help. Otherwise we'll kill you well before your friends outside can react. Fair?"
____________
Those in the party outside see three men step out on to the porch and attempt to look menacing. However they just look deathly ill and thin and pale.
The man in the woods is about 45 feet away and appears to still not notice you all and is still approaching.

I'll allow it. Once you hear Liet's warning you scan the area and also catch sight of the man skulking in the woods.
You are tracking the guy fine, you're about 120 feet away and up in the air.
