Rerolls happen before tallying successes/failures, so what that expression does is roll 6d10, reroll every die that shows 10 until it's no longer a 10, and then count a success for every die showing 8 or 9 (since there aren't any 10s in the final result).
I think what you want here is exploding dice, not rerolls. This will keep the original 10 and roll an additional die every time a 10 comes up, like so: 6d10.explode(=10).success(>=8) or in short form 6d10!e=10>=8
7 scores keeping highest 6. Each score 4d6 drop lowest rerolling 1s once.
