Cora listens to Yaalin before giving a nod. “Well that would make some sense. That....” Cora blinks a few times looking around at everyone. “This Alul is the catamount they kept chained up with silver. Well. This makes much more sense now. We would pass by it due to the underground tunnels in the caves. It ate a few who got to close but never seemed to be a particular threat. Just any other beast. Seems it isn’t just a simple creature then.”
she then looks to Abigail. “No. I do not know anything else that would help.” There’s a pause as she mulls over information. “That Druid had a pet. A large winged serpent. But after I killed its master it fled. I don’t think it would be particularly helpful, unless we somehow got it into submission.”
Cora gives a bit of a huff as she looks over to Lafetha. “Well. Two fold. First, she was an a apostate. And it’s the right, and sometimes duty of us in the faith to eliminate the threat they possess. That being said, you and I have our agreement. So that won’t happen to you.”
She emphasizes the last part, reminding her of the oath she swore together. “Second. In my time here I learned that in her care was materials that lead me to learning on how to open the path. She was one of the defenders of keeping it closed. So if I did not eliminate the apostate, she would have tried to stop us both.”
Cora looks back to the fire. “Taking her down took the lives of many warriors.”
Sim listens as they debate. Finally speaking up. “If the key Orta has was a physical key she would not need the head or us to help her. The Chieftan’s head must be of some magical use then. So I doubt we have another option we can negotiate with for the key. Alul served her and her sisters so he went to her for help. He will make another attempt at the chief I think even if he has to cut down the tribes numbers. We must go to rest and see if Orta will tell us where to find him and then make amends.”
Yaalin Listens to the others debate, sad but not surprised they seem decided to continue with Cora. At the mention of Cora killing a druid (possibly Yeth) and shuddering at the remembrance of the power withing the grove she first searched for upon branching from the group. mostly she remains silent but interjects after Sim's comment.
"You may be right that if the key is physical she shouldn't need the head. But as someone who has suffered at the grip of revenge over family it may be simply that. She wants pure revenge, or justice if you view it from her side."
She will fall silent again after this contemplating if there really is a clear right or wrong in the situation they are in.
Night comes and goes - the group falling asleep and taking shifts throughout to make sure they're not being followed. Outside the eventual ceasing of the sounds of the peryton, it's a uneventful night.
(Everyone gets a long rest)
As the group break down their campsite and begin to set out, Cora hoists her slender backpack across her shoulders. "Well... seems we all set out once again." She looks over at Yaalin for a moment, giving a small nod.
(Sim & Group. Decide on where you're going. Back towards Rest, give 2 survival rolls.)
(Yaalin. If going to the Hn'ti village, no survival roll required. You're a few hours away from it. If going to Hope, it'll take about 6 days at a normal pace due to difficult terrain, and you'll be re-entering the zone that has altitude fatigue. DC 15 survival to find the right direction, DC 25 to find food & water along the way once you begin the climb.)
Yaalin, you walk for a few hours along the decently traveled path. Eventually, you see the plateau the Hn'ti village is build on top of off in the distance. The tribe busy out in their farm of reeds, collecting and tending to the crops.
Several others, both in the reeds, outside of them, and on top seem to be keeping a closer eye. Their presence and guarding is far more than you experienced on either trip to the village. As you get into the sightlines, you hear a whistle call and response. Not knowing exactly what their whistles convey, it's difficult to know what message they're sending. But your best guess is that someone who's clearly not a Hn'ti has been spotted.
Two days pass. The first goes rather smoothly. Hunting coming fairly easy; the melting ice bringing out more creatures and the bright glow of a arriving full moon giving an advantage at night. The second day, a coming storm. Lightning strikes from behind along with heavy rains. Yet the travel remains fairly easy.
As you come down off the mountain at the end of the second day of travel, you see both the camp site and Rest. It’s getting close to evening, most staying inside or likely at the inn while the rain pours down.
Diadochi looks at Rest and sighs, " Everytime I come back here I feel like more of a failure. Alright, let's get a move on. Look lively."
Diadochi goes to Orta's house and discreetly (for him) peaks through the window.
If Orta is there alone:
Diadochi knocks and says "hello, Orta, yes, I'm sorry to say we didn't get the Hn'ti leader's head, but we did give it an honest go. We ran into a bit of an entanglement. Anyway we are definitely going to give it another go but we need to talk to Alul, so he can give us a few pointers, definitely increase the likely hood of you getting that head... Or prehaps there is something else you want instead of the head prehaps seven heads of regular Hn'ti, or... I don't know, freedom?"
If Alul is there
Diadochi knocks, "Orta, do forgive the interruption, but I need to talk to Alul or a moment. Alul we are sorry about the threats. I am surprised they effected you so greatly as we've established we don't have the means to hurt you. Point is, we are trying to kill the chieftain, but the stubborn devil doesn't seem to want to die. We were hoping you could give us some insight to how to better combat the Hn'ti. You help us help you kill your blood sworn enemy and all that."
If Orta isn't seen or is sleeping
Diadochi says, ((Maybe to himself if no one followed him)) "right, try again I'm the morning then..." He goes to the camp, and check to see if there have been any Alul sightings or additional horse murder.
Diadochi looks at Rest and sighs, " Everytime I come back here I feel like more of a failure. Alright, let's get a move on. Look lively."

Diadochi, you approach Orta's hut in the rain. A few rumbles of thunder echoing around the mountains in the distance. Through the splats of the heavy drops striking the muddy ground, you hear shouting.
Both Orta's voice, and Alul's voice. But it's in a language you don't understand.
Abigail balks at Diadochi heading to Orta's house. "It is evening, do you not think our arrival will be seen as an impertinence?" As he continues on, "I thought we wanted to try to be diplomatic!" she yells over the rain at him.
Abigail rolls her eyes, "Unbelievable..." She looks at Cora, "Well, I don't want to go after him, but I am also afraid of how things will end up if we don't go with him. This is one of the only remaining leads we have... Thoughts?"
Before Cora can answer, if she was going to, Abigail says, "Ya, we best go with him... With all the times we have had to save him recently, he will probably need our help just to live through this conversation."
Upon hearing the raised voices, Abigail says, "I am REALLY not sure this is the time to try to talk to Orta, she may not be in the helping mood."
Lafetha follows Abigail and Diadochi to Orta's knowing that Diadochi always seems to talk himself into trouble, and not knowing how Abigail will react if he does. "Remember last time. Who is to say she will even help is this time? We don't have the head." She yells over the thunder.
Cora, upon arriving at the outskirts of Rest, removes her mask. The illusion of goblin fading and returning to her dirty robed halfling look. She gives a bit of a nod to Abigail, as all except for Sim head off to Rest. "You say a group of armed people showing up after sunset is rude? Odd. Who would've thought that." she shakes her head with a bit of a eyeroll. Once you begin to pass the tavern, Cora breaks off. "It's late, and I'm going to make sure I have a room. Not being part of your Blackmire team, there's not a spot for me in that camp." She gives a small nod before reaching down to grab a few coin from a purse on her side, and heading into the Inn.
At Orta's...
The thunder continues to roll and echo. The sounds of shouting coming from the home. Lafetha, you hear the voices, shouting in Sylvan.
Orta: "...alf-breed. Letting her roam. What is wrong with you!" Alul: "We could use her. She's good and kind. Perfect for what we need." Orta: "We? There is no we. There is I. You were our tool. Our Enforcer. Don't forget your place. And who made you." Alul & Orta: [unintelligible due to the rain and thunder]
At Camp...
Sim you approach. Everyone seems to be up and walking around, in some kind of hurry. A dismembered horse is scattered out in one of the fields. Mr. Jacobsen lays in a tent, covered in blood, deep injuries still bleeding. Eshe is trying to stop the bleeding, but he too is bloodied and looking worse for ware. Sora, Ironsides, and Mama all talk under the extended awning of one of the wagons.
Yaalin (Day 1, noon)
You head out. Passing along the outskirts of the Hn'ti village as you make your way. It's been a few hours before you see 15 Hn'ti coming around a bend. They don't seem to have noticed you yet, but will walk directly your way.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ancestors preserve me."
Yaalin mutters to herself ((guidance)) she had been hoping to avoid direct confrontation with the Hn'ti. She will move far enough off the path that she will be able to see them pass and attempt to stealth18 + 4

"that druid? Which druid? What was the reason she gave you to kill her?" Lafetha asks quizzitivly to Cora.
