“You know I think you are more than you seem to be. I find the coincidence to great that we just left a town that had a statue of a blood raven and now in a magic filled cave we find a red raven that seems to at the very least know something about people and chose to help us find our friend Eshe over there, who by the way I never thanked you for pointing him out so thanks. It would have been unfortunate to never know where he had vanished off too. You see he was the member of our party who generally spent a lot of time alone. Caring for us by bringing food for us to eat and warning us of danger. An all around good chap. Sorry I’m rambling. So we just left that town with it’s blood raven statue and came this way because those goblins in that big heap out there decided to raid the town and hurt a lot of people. All over some magic gems of yours. Now I don’t blame you for their actions but like I said about coincidences I just can’t believe they stretch so far. Either way whether you sent those goblins to get the gems or simple greed did and you actually watch over the town below providing them with care they are unaware of I don’t know but I guess what I am trying to say is if you ******* CAW at me one more time when you could talk and tell us what is going on while my friend lies dead out there having defended you and your gems then I may just begin to doubt my belief that you are more than a normal uncommonly red raven and decide to let my cat friend out there have at ya like I am with this bear right here and now. Honoring its life by using what it can offer to better the lives of others even in its death. I can always gather up those beautiful red feathers for fletching for my arrows later if you know what I mean? Sorry it seems my friend Diadochi over there is beginning to rub off on me.”

Abigail listens to Sim talking to the raven, and chooses not to continue trying to grab at it... Instead, she is going to take a short rest in the hopes of sobering up a bit.
Yaalin sighs seeing her friend falling down some dark places in his mind. Thinking it would be best to let him vent on the body She turns now to the bird. "You. You spoke as I touched the water...why?" Investigation9 or Arcana21 to figure out what the bird is/ why it is concerned about the water
Assuming the bird does not respond with anything more than "CAW" Yaalin will shake her head and turn her attention to the pool to try and figure out what she knows about it Investigation9 or Arcana19 or History20 ((no idea what I would need for this))

The bird, first, just gives a small caw. It looking over at Yaalin who begins to address it. It's head tilting to the side as he makes a few hops to the tortle. The creatures intentions are almost impossible to read. A blank slate, reflecting back your own emotions. The bird hops, a few more times along the ceiling's roots. Apparently having a staring contest with Yaalin...
...You feel yourself falling. Sinking into the birds eyes. The world around you growing dark, vision tunneling with the creature before you. Static images of not only your past, but your beliefs, and the echos of the old world that your spells bring about.
The whisper of a voice comes at you from all sides. "You worship what was, not what is. Curious." You can still see the bird's eyes locked with yours. But, nothing else. Not even realizing the passing of time around you, as the images fade. "This site is Holy. Treat it as such." For a brief moment, you feel this creatures energy. Something from either the heavens or the hells. Then, the whispers stop. You find yourself blinking, somehow sitting on the ground....
...before Yaalin moves to sit and meditate. Keeping a steady gaze at the bird. Shaking her head after a long while. The bird lets out a soft CAW once more.
Diadochi sits down and sighes while reaching into his pack and pulling out some rations, "Ogres, Terrible lot, did I ever tell you about the time..." Short rest ensues, he recovers 10
Roughly an hour has past. The bear skin lays out on the ground, the remainder of the bear cut and quartered for possibly the night's meal later on. The bird continues to caw at the group, tirelessly making noise during your time dressing wounds and recovering stamina from the days journey.
Lafetha had originally found druidic on the outside of the cave, faded from time, before having some kind of vision with a feathered serpent.
Yaalin, after studying the bird, seemed to engage it on some level. Hearing a whispering voice during her time of rest, loosing herself in the darkness.
Diadochi, while recovering, remembers that he saw something strange about the rocks at the back of the pillar before he decided to go investigate the tunnel and his own demons, only to fight a actual beast. The torch he was carrying now used and resting beside him. It would make some good firewood, but no longer has the fuel to go on shining after the rest.
Abigail seems far more sober after being able to sit for a few minutes.
Sim definitely knows there's something about this bird, but hasn't been able to deduce just what is up with it yet. Having a frustrated conversation with it while skinning and butchering parts of the bear.
There are still the three pools of water glowing in the central chamber. One large, with two smaller. One tunnel further in the cave now has a dead ogre in it, with the rest of that passage unexplored. Another tunnel in the main cave remains unexplored.
Sim chuckles as the Red Raven caws in response to his long winded yammering. "Well I don't know anything about you but there is something not normal for a raven about you and I can't seem to figure it out but I can't let the coincidence go. I'm going to take our friend who died defeating those thieving goblins out there and bury him. You showed me where he was hidden and you clearly knew who I was just talking about so I'm going to ask. Anywhere in particular I could/should bury our friend here?

The bird begins to caw, but seems to stop mid way. A brief moment of silence as it hops from branch to branch. It then looks over to Lafetha, then looks over to the stone pillar. Cawing once it looks at the pillar.
Diadochi, not sure why everyone cares so much about this bird will go over to the pillar, wipe the grim off of the stones, try to remember which stones are where investigation or int check (same bonus) 7 and then take one out. If nothing happens he'll take them all out, saying to himself "Reminds me of a puzzle my Aunt Harmosia brought back form one of her adventures..."

If nothing happens he'll take them all out, saying to himself "Reminds me of a puzzle my Aunt Harmosia brought back form one of her adventures..."
Diadochi removes the stones one by one. Having seen them before - it’s quite easy to notice them again. With each stone removed, a faint amber light pours out from the pillar. Once they’re all removed - creating a window big enough for two hands - what’s behind comes into clear view.
A series of tree roots cascade both down into the water below, and some coming back up into the cave ceiling. Between them, a perfect egg shaped gem the size of a humans head. Amber in color and slightly pulsing. It’s intricate shape and clarity showing that it would be worth quite a lot. After studying it a moment longer - you believe it to be made of the sap that has formed and hardened over time by these roots.
It could be possible to remove the gem from the roots; but it would be very difficult. The object could fall and break - ruining its probable high value.
Along some of the roots is a language you don’t understand. (Druidic)
the raven has grown silent. Hopping along the roots and watching carefully.
After an hour of listening to that obnoxious cawing, Abigail stands up and heads into the tunnel. "Well, while you guys are busy talking with that ridiculous bird, I am going to go see where that ogre came from, or was going..."
Abigail is going to go explore down the tunnel.
If a Perception roll is needed - 20 If she there is much more to the passage, Abigail will start sneaking - 22
Watching the bird think and then look at Lafetha, Sim looks over at her. "You know bird we're going to talk sometime."
Sim then carefully wraps Eshe in the bear skin, gets up, and heads over to where Diadochi is to look at what he found. Seeing the glowing egg he inspects it. Thinking over anything he has heard about similar objects and situations arcana20 Then looks at the bird again. "Caw just one time for me if it is ok for us to drink some of this water. We are parched but I don't want to spoil anything of a special nature." insight20 (To understand his response.)
Abigail sneaks down the corridor, heading over the dead ogre and it’s crushed head, before continuing down. The further down Abigail does, the worse the tunnel smells. Eventually it reaching a nearly volatile level. As the tunnel parts and turns, she is able to look into a hollowed out part of the cave. Laying around is just a pile of... filth. Rotting meat. Leftover bones. Places where the ogre was vacating his bowels in corners. A small handful of berries is out of place near the opening. (Nature to know more)
Continuing down, Abigail comes to where the tunnel terminates another chamber room. It not far from the previous one either. Along the walls are a few large stone javelins and nets. Bone jewelry litter the ground near the two distinct sleeping areas; covers made of skins of creatures laying around. In a far corner between the two sleeping areas is a pile of coins. (33 copper, 7 silver.). (Investigate to find anything else in the room)
Sim looks over at the large gem, trying to remember anything. Druidic lore is extremely rare and hard to come by; they’re a secretive group and were nearly wiped out by the Faith. Still, you remember in passing hearing fairy tales told by old elves. Telling stories about how the those who were connected to the old Feywilds living forever. This could very well be connected to such a thing.
For the first time when you’ve asked the bird a question, it doesn’t caw any response. Looking back at it - you’re unable to figure out what its thinking. It’s either being quiet in response, or preoccupied with you all having opened the pillar.
((forgot to mention, Diadochi would have spilt the 6 silver he found on the ogre, one for everyone 2 for Sims, "Consider it payment for putting food on our proverbial table while we're roughing it" and give the blue white potion to Yaalin.))
Sim shares his knowledge of things like this he heard about from older elves living in the wilds with Lafetha. "Might help you make sense of what this exactly is and how to handle it."
Lafetha, you see the writing along the branches. It takes you a few minutes to decipher the order it is meant to be read in. The language of Druidis is symbolic. Spoken it flows, but every circle has a slightly different way of writing the words down. This tree is something special. The words glow as you mutter them under your breath. You figure that the roots, the pool, and the gemstone are all components to this artifact, this chamber. When Sim tells you of the old wives takes, you think this chamber is directly that. Something that can bring back the dead. If you spoke the words aloud, whatever old magic is inside this would activate. (Arcana check with advantage to know more)
If Lafetha does not go over to the stone pillar, you can make a INT / Arcana check with Advantage to see if you know any more of the history of this object.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Diadochi looks around realizes Abigail isn't in the main part of the cave, "If it's one thing I've learned in the past hour or so is we should probably stick together. " and then head down the ogre tunnel to see Abigail. If he runs into Abigail on the way out he'll follow her out and stay close to Yaalin and let her do her thing.
If he meets Abigail at the end of the tunnel
He will look through the room perception22 investigation3 He's especially interested if it looks like the beds are for ogres and it looks like there is an ogre sleeping in each bed or if the ogre just made a bed for his bears.

The raven tilts it's head to the side. Looking at Sim as he speaks. Then over to Abigail. Then over to Eshe, who's still quite dead.
The raven caws once again, a bit quieter. Looking over to Lafetha and the stone pillar this time.
