Aside from the items on the party, the only object within the room that flares to Y'lovisa's senses is the reddish stone laying next to the sleeping orc, which radiates an aura of evocation.

There is also a faint magical haze in the room, an aura of transmutation that is not centered on one specific object.

       With hesitation in her voice, Y'lovisa whispers to Aradurk, "I don't sense anything magical in the room per se, but I am picking up on something that doesn't seem quite right. I don't believe that an illusion is at work here, but the actual structure of something in this area has been altered." While the half-orc sneaks over to the other guard, the half-elf peeks into the unlocked corridor again to see if the aura extends further than this room.

Y'lovisa does not sense the same aura of transmutation in the corridor. It seems that the aura is contained within this room.

“Well, time a’wastin’...”

Aradurk smells the air, takes a deep breath in, and after shesthing his long sword and drawing his ax in one hand, stealthily starts walking across the room to the red device on the floor.

Aradurk quietly moves across the room, hearing a click as he steps on the mat in the room's center. Before he can react, everyone in the room, including the sleeping orc, is falling upward to the ceiling 20 feet above. At the edge of the room, Y'lovisa and Fumbles are barely able to grab the frame of the door in time, pulling themselves to safety in the unaffected corridor. Karst, Aradurk, and the orc crash into the ceiling, discovering the hard way that it is covered in small sharp spikes, each taking 7 bludgeoning damage and 8 bludgeoning damage from the impact.

The orc does not move, skewered on the spikes and bleeding from a wound in the head. Karst and Aradurk suddenly find themselves laying on the painful ceiling, as gravity has reversed within the room. The floor, and Y'lovisa and Fumbles, are 20 feet above them.

"At least you killed the orc, apart from that this could have gone better..." the paladin says through gritted teeth trying to manage the pain. 

"I guess I'm more lethal than I realized."

Aradurk stands, looking around for the whistle and searching the orc. "I guess if we had someone who did some magic, we could get down from here without a good deal of pain."

"You two alright up there?" Fumbles calls out as Aradurk and Karst collect themselves. Aradurk finds 60 gold pieces in a pocket of the orc's armor.

"great, thanks you should try it, is this going to stop soon and drop us back down?" Karst begins looking for a route that would let him climb down/up to the floor, taking it when he finds one. 

I pull out my rope and see if I can toss it across the midpoint to one of the folks on the right side verse. 

Karst searches for a way to climb, but the smooth stone of the walls doesn't provide any room for footholds.

Aradurk tosses his rope up in the air, and though it doesn't reach the doorway, Fumbles' mage hand appears in the air, grabbing hold of it and bringing it to the side corridor where Fumbles and Y'lovisa wait. "Quickly now, I'll tie this down. Help me hold this end, Y'lovisa," he says, attaching the rope as best he can to the wall of the corridor.

The rope dangles from the room, 15 feet above Karst and Aradurk.

I will pull out a hammer and piton, hammer in and tie off the rope then start to climb the rope. 

     Y'lovisa grabs the rope and finds a place to tie it off as directed. She says to the gnome, "Looks like we are a little short. Can you pull the other end back down here and we can tie off another rope to reach them.?"

OOC: Sorry for the misleading comma, the doorway is 15 feet above Aradurk and Karst, not the rope.

Aradurk quickly clambers into the corridor, now looking up at Karst standing on the ceiling of the large entry room; and just in time, as Karst comes plummeting to the original floor, taking 7 bludgeoning damage as the orc corpse lands next to him at a broken angle.

The gravity in the entryway has returned to normal, and the room stands as it did when the party entered. There is a reddish stone laying on the ground next to a chest and a set of double doors. There is also a door to the left and right side of the entryway. Y'lovisa, Fumbles, and Aradurk are standing in the corridor by the right door.

OOC: 20 gold pieces have been added to each character's inventory from the loot found by Aradurk.

OOC: Ready to advance once an action is taken. There are two doors along the wall in this corridor and another at the end. There is a set of double doors past the orc corpse in the main entryway. There is a door across the entryway, directly across from the party.

Aradurk slides the corpse out of the way and listens at the entryway for activity.

Sword drawn Karst accompanies Aradurk waiting ner the doorway in case needed. 

Aradurk Perception: 1

Now that gravity has reset, Aradurk and Karst approach the doorway in the center of the entryway. Aradurk listens closely, hearing only silence all around. Fumbles motions for Y'lovisa to follow, and walks up beside them, holding the iron key up with his mage hand. "I can open the doors when ready," he says.

Looks over at Karst: “Ideally we would breach with at least 4 and 2 supporting archers in the back. I’m thinking magic hand opens the door enough for us to see in for a place to find cover and find out how comprimised we are. That or we go big but  given our lack of support, seems dicey. I don’t want to get you busted up more than already. Your thoughts?”

      Y'lovia makes her way across the entryway, picking up the red communication stone along the way. "Shall we see what's in this chest before we move on?"
