The group is ready to move soon and heads north west to get to the road leading to Haven and also skirting the Darkmere Forest.
Elona before leaving looks at Taylon .. "He was very sick when I left and though he would have followed me I bagged him to stay behind. I ll find a way to help him."
When Regus casts a spell on the staff she doesn't do anything but does not hand it over either.
Regus
The staff gives a light glow that winks of quickly. Either it is not really magical or it as a powerful spell hiding it.
She looks at Cairn, " I am sorry to drag you into this but I think what we are doing in finding more about the Staff will help many." She turns to Zar next. " Thank you for the food noble warrior."
While traveling, Brenton will take a point position, about thirty feet ahead of the group, off on the side bordering the forest, walking on the edge between the trail and the trees.
"Interesting...." Regus murmers under his breath at the reaction from the staff. His curiosity still un-quenched. Regus would be in the back of the group as they travel, Keeping to himself as he thinks on the staff and the previous day's events. Occasionally rubbing the spot he plucked the scale from in the morning absent mind-idly.

"Oh I am sorry " says the kender to Elona when she talks about the disease of her beloved. " I am sure that he will recover. He sounds like a very strong man!" He then trots to the point of the party looking around for interesting things while they are walking.
Seeing Taylon trying to climb him he looks down and raises a brow. " NO you can't sit on my head, Maybe you can sit on my shoulders later but not now, You'd be in the way if I had to fight."
The Minotaur warrior shook his head at the word noble. "I am not a noble warrior. War is not noble or truly just, it is a dirty business. My instructor told me never to forget that in war one side loses and your opponents or you die. However he also said that The Gods gave us skills to utilize, and with those skills, we do with them what we will. For me, he said that these rules of combat should defend those who can not defend themselves. So I do just that. Whether it is noble are not is not for me to judge, I just know for me it feels right"
Zar washed his dishes after that drying them and then stuffing them back on to his person.
// Do we have a formation or general marching order?
Brenton took a point position ahead of the main group, I said thirty feet but it would likely make more sense to float between that and ninety feet.
Taylon said he'd take point at the party soon thereafter, so I'm assuming he means at the front of the main host. And Fangor is right alongside Taylon to keep him out of trouble.
So, I'm thinking we could use another point person up with Brenton on the opposite side of the trail, preferably a scout/ranger type with some perception.
We need some volunteers for the rear guard, typically a small group a short distance behind the main host.
Then there's the main host which I'm guessing would be Elona (keep her in the middle to keep her safer), along with casters and others who could support either ends should trouble arise.
Brenton appreciates Cairn's suggestion, but counters that not everyone is adept at moving through the woods without a trail, slowing down the collective travel speed and moving through the trees also makes it more difficult to keep a head count of everyone.
"We don't want to lose someone to the boggarts and bogles of the forest and not realize it," Brenton states somewhat cryptically.
"However, we could travel the wooden path until we're out of the area of influence of Solace, then pop onto the road," Brenton suggests as a compromise. "...but it'll be a hard go for those not used to moving through the trees. Fair warning."
Fangor shakes his head and touches the grass. "respect the Forrest and it will respect you. But traveling on the road will be safer, save for brigands."

" I Respect the Forest. It provides shade and food." Zar says as he rests his maul over his shoulder looking at the others. He then shrugs behind the scouts but still up towards the front ready to charge at danger!
Shanryar just leans on her staff, clearly tired for the track just until there. She looks towards the clean road with expectation from behind her hood but she turns to Brenton
" I can walk throught the forest. The road doesn't seems safe for our group. We are easily recognizable and any we cross in the way will remember us and could lead the Seekers and their goblins to us..."
"Fine then, against my better judgment, through the woods we go. Everyone stay close to each other and headcount every twenty minutes. I'll act as a short range scout and take a point position ninety feet ahead, but I need a quiet, perceptive, and focused individual to join me in the task. Help is always good when scouting. We'll check in every twenty minutes for the headcount. We should be able to see each other most of the way, but in case the forest gets thick, it's good to have a plan."
"Thank you, Taylon. But I have an even more important job for you. Stay at the head of the main group and keep your eye out for me [and whomever else can play the role required scouting up front]. You have some of the best eyes out here, so if you see us react to something or signal back I need you to warn the group. Also, Elona seems to be comfortable around you and she could use the support."
"I will Brenton" says the kender " I will use my hoopak in case I see something and can't go back to warn you... " he then darts to comply with Brenton's instructions.

The group moves and Brenton keeps an eye on the rest of the group and on the road leading further North.
Thee a re a few pilgrims and merchants walking that road but not as much as there use to be.
OOC: Does the group stay on the road or moves into the woods ?

(I'd like to go through the woods. Less chance of being found.
Also Algrenon I think would be up front as well, Cairn will pull bodyguard duty for Elona.)
