Karia rolled her eyes when she noticed what Taylon had in his hand. "Naira." She whispered to the statue before moving away from the window, the statue shuddered a moment before transforming into a live raven. The bird flew up onto a shelf fixing her beady eyes on the door.

Zar pulled out his maul the gleaming metal ready to strike at what comes through the door. his breathing slow and his body ready. If need be he would strike first with his horns to knock them back to make room for him to swing his maul at those coming in after them.

The kender don't even scream he just opens his mouth as the statue he has found turns into a living raven and flies to the shoulder of his friend.

He stands and darts over her looking at the raven.

"Kaira! That's amazing! It's yours? I found it at the bottom of the rope when we left the Inn. How did you do that? What's his name? Oh! Can you turn anything into a living raven now? Can you turn me into a raven?! That would be really fun! I could fly and look for things, and no one will ever shout at  me saying awful things like Get lost you pest! "he mimics a more low voice "like that merchant said once, can you believe it? pest! But, I think that I would miss my legs eventually, could you turn me back to myself again later? Here take a little of cookie" he offers to the raven "do you like cookies? Do you want to be my friend?" 

As the group waits for the two guards to finish their rounds all of them turn to give a glare to Taylon. A " Really, Now of all time." hungs silent in the air. 

The two guards are moving toward the door and Zar tenses ready to act. While doing so they talk. 

"What's so important about that staff.... " Asks the first. 

"Don't know but we need to do our job or else." says the second. 

"Tika's friends have always been nice to us .. not like the new bosses,... " 

" Ye I know... You know what .. Let's NOT look into THAT house." 

" Yes, If anyone is in there they should head to the North and through the forest before they send for the dogs." 

The feet move away from the area of the house. Alex you recognise the voice of Thomas a long time friend of Tika and some of you. 

Shan looks to Alex with a mixture of relief and hurry.

"We should seize the opportunity now" 

She whispers.

Brenton glares at Taylon and then Shan. Without humor in his voice he says, "Next time we need silence - muzzle him."

Taking a breath to calm himself, "Thomas let us slide - like Shan said, let's take him up on this opportunity and head north. Put some distance between us an Solace before we pause to regroup and maybe have this young lady (Brenton gestures at Elona) tell us a story."

"I think at this point speed is our friend, we need to get out of here as fast as possible. Those of us with keen senses and long ranged weapons take point and positions around the outside of the main mass. Those of us able to should help the ones who cannot move as quickly," Brenton states as a person who's had to make speed runs out of bad situations one too many times. 

Taylon blushes at Benton's words. 

"You are right. Sorry Brenton" he then keeps quiet but after five seconds he send looks to the raven again. 

Returning Shan's sentiment "Yeah, we can give them a moment to leave before we head north."

Solomon always suspicious and curious is not too trust the guards' directions. "Hey wait a minute. They could be setting us for a trap," he whispers. 

Insight Check: 21

"Wasn't there an old adage that spoke about Fortune Favoring the bold?" He says as he speaks softly but his rumbling voice carries.

Regus stands up, brushing the dust and dirt from his red robe. "I agree with Zar, If this is a chance we have been given we should claim it before we lose it." Regus will look around at the others and click his heels together, rising 1 foot off the ground. "Out home is not what it once was Friends, This staff seems to be a problem that can either return it to what it was or cause it to further evolve. If this Theocrat wants it so bad as to track us I say let him and find what happens when the twelve of us are together." 

"I think we have waited long enough. We can drop our trail by heading to the lake just north of here." Alex starts rummaging thru the cabinets for any food. "I don't think Tika ever eats here. See what food you can find for the road."

Algrenon heads out first without speaking to his friends and waits for them outside. His steps completly silenced giving him a bit of an advantage as he scopes out the area around the house. 30 perception roll, his eyes as keen as they can be in the dark night now. 

That guard, whoever it may have been, put on an act. He literally told us they're goin ta put the dogs on us. We need to go, now. The north Forrest path has many game trails off of it. We can hide our numbers. Me and Al know a few trails there

"If we want some quick confirmation, I can send Naira out to scout for us. She can send messages as well."

Brenton looks around and says flatly, "Everyone. Out. Now. Take Algrenon's lead. Let's go."

He turns to Elona, "Miss. Shall we?"

He'll wait three breaths. If Elona hasn't responded, he'll extend a hand and wait two breaths. If she doesn't get the message, he'll say, "I suggest you follow."

He turns and leaves out the door to head north. Crossbow armed in hand.

Naira flutters onto Karia's shoulder and she follows Algrenon out the door.

Cairn will wait till everyone has left keeping his eyes open and trying to keep the noise of shuffling bodies to a minimum

Taylon is outside with Al before much of them could even think in looking for the little kender. 

Shan waits for Alex and the signal of Brenton to follow them. As Zar leaves the house he recovers his usual height and size as she promised. She winks to his friend as they reach the cover of the trees again. 

Zar walks out to get out of the way and then follows the others. His maul is out and he trudges along making sure he is able to help others who need it.
